Meetup Central New Jersey ABJD Meetup, Outdoor Meet At Ken Buchanan Waterfront Park, Saturday, 6/3/2023

Jun 3, 2023

    1. We had a wonderful Central New Jersey meet at Ken Buchanan Waterfront Park in Sayreville, NJ today! Many thanks to @Nilu and @Lady BlackWillow for coming to the meet today! We all brought our dolls, many of our dolls enjoyed some ice cream, and we all enjoyed a nice late morning into the earlier afternoon with our dolls and chatting with each other. The weather was a little cool but still fairly nice. The wind wasn't too bad, but as we learned with last year's outdoor meet, sitting our dolls down was the best course of action. It was a really great time, and I'm looking forward to doing it again in the future.

    4. I'm glad you guys had a good time! All the dolls look so great! It's always nice to meet with fellow doll owners.. :D

BTW, the two 1/3 boys in the photos are pulling on my heartstrings. Is one of them an old Abio Angel boy?

And, who's the other? He look familiar, but I can't place him.

    5. Thank you, @AlisonVonderland and @Rabbit-moon :)

Alison, it was really fun! I'm glad we had the meet yesterday. It was looking like it might not happen with the weather, but the weather actually cooperated for the most part. The wind wasn't too bad, and the temperature was a little cool but not terrible.

Rabbit, it was definitely a good time :) I was happy to hang out and do doll stuff. Those boys, looking at Lady BlackWillow's profile, I see she mentions an Abio Angel boy. I'm not sure about the other one. I'll reach out to her and get back to you.

    6. Thank you Gamma Ray! I thought I recognized the Abio Angel boy. I had wanted one back in 2006, but the company went on hiatus and never came back. T_T

About the other boy, I’m really curious about him. He has old-skool resin vibe about him that I really love. :aheartbea It’s lovely to see collectors bringing out their much-loved older dolls. :thumbup

    15. Good idea to bring cushioning items for the metal tables -but who was ambitious enough to bring a whole quilt? (and table and bench!)

    16. The real measure of cushioning was to get dolls sat down on chairs or sitting on the table at the place. The table and seats are part of the park's setup. We didn't need to bring them. I brought the quilt in order to cover the table in case the table was dirty. I think the towel next to the quilt was Lady Blackwillow's. The doll bench was Nilu's. That was one huge size bench! Really impressive.

Doll chairs are very useful for outdoor meets like this. We did another one in the summer, and all of the dolls were sat down and they were perfectly safe. I think we perfected the formula :thumbup
