This is an update to the thread about Celyne22, a woman who has scammed many people using DoA, Materiel Celeste [the French BJD forum], and eBay. On DoA, she did this by responding to WTB ads in the Marketplace and using other owner's photos to sell dolls that she did not own. After being called out on her scamming, she started slowly paying back the members who she had scammed by selling her own dolls. These debts have not been paid in full. (Please see this thread for more information.) Recently, she scammed an American Distributor out of over $4,000 worth of dolls and other merchandise by using a stolen credit card. Around the same time, she also scammed Blue Fairy International for around $500. She has since sold these dolls to unknowing members of Materiel Celeste. Celine le brun has been using several names - celyne22 and catlok on DoA, catlok2212 and oxygen on Materiel Celeste. She has also been scamming on eBay by buying items, then reversing the payment after the items had shipped. Her eBay IDs are kaotic2212 and catlok2212. She is located in France and uses the following address: We have seen her use her own name (Celine le brun), Catherine Lok, and Guillaume Delacroix. Please use a lot of caution when buying and selling on DoA and elsewhere - we don't want anyone else to get scammed! If you have any further information about this person, or know of another identity, please contact one of the DoA moderators. Finally, we give our apologies for not making this information public sooner. The moderators and members of Materiel Celeste [the French BJD forum] have been working on making a formal complaint with the French police. Until that had been submitted, we did not want to post this information for fear that Celyne would change her identity again and go on to scam others. The french forum and its members have been wonderful detectives, and we're all very thankful to them for their efforts to gather so much information. Thank you also to the DoA members who gave us more information about catlok's transactions. Hopefully she will be caught! Please pass this information on to any other doll owners you know who may not be DoA members. If you are an admin on another forum and would like catlok/celyne22's IPs to see if she is hiding out on your forum, please contact one of the DoA mods. EDIT: This is crossposted from another thread by Dollyholic.
I have pressed for charges against Celine in the equivalent of a federal court there with their prosecutor. I want to thank the members of Materiel Celeste who helped me draft out the letter to the prosecutor in French. The letter was delivered there by FEDEX courier last week, and it's been received by them. Whatever it takes, we will not rest until this terrible person is stopped. There are four stolen dolls from my company, and we know where they are (sold to members of Materiel Celeste). I would like to reassure everyone that these stolen dolls will not show up on DOA or Ebay. Celine has ripped off many companies, including Korean ones who will have great difficulty responding with a complaint which must be written in French. I am doing everything I can to help companies who have been stolen from by her, so that they can combine their complaints with mine. Most doll companies are very small with small staffs. A loss like this hurts, but we're going to be ok. I still have faith in this community and in the French doll community.. both are full of honest and fun people whom we enjoy very much. One person will not change our view. But we urge everyone to please be careful because Celine is now using multiple aliases and is now resorting to stolen credit cards. Best wishes, Catrina
I was one of them who got scammed by this terrible person celyne22. I'm still fighting to get my money back, I'm still out $333.30.
Wow, this is really shocking. I recently sold a Serendipity girl body to Catlok. They contacted me in the middle of the week, so I was unable to ship the body to them until the weekend when I went home. Before I got to ship the body, Paypal put a hold on the money and started an inquiry about the transaction. I decided not to send the body until Paypal finished, which they haven't yet. And now I've found out that Catlok is a huge scammer! D: I was really frustrated with Paypal for putting a hold on the transaction because I needed the money for the NY Dolpa, but now I'm really grateful that they did. Otherwise, I would have shipped out the body and certainly would have been out of $250! D: D: D:
Hi, I'm one of the Celyne's dolls french buyer. I'm very sad and angry to learn all that things. I hope that everybody will refound money and items stolen. And sorry for my bad english.
Please see the last posts in the sticky thread. We are organizing formal legal complaints from everyone who has been stolen from. These will be written in French and sent to the Prosecutor of high crimes in Evreux. You send us your info, and we will get it translated and returned to you in PDF form for your signature. Then you send it to us here in the US. We will send a large EMS envelope of the documents to the Prosecutor there, to add to the complaint we sent them a week ago.
celyne22 is back on eBay, listing BJDs for sale again: http://www.ebay.com/sch/celyne22/m.html?_trksid=p4340.l2562
I was unaware of her history until today, and unfortuntely, I bought one of the dolls on Ebay. It seems as if the dolls she is selling are dolls she at least actually owns, as she has posted pics of them on a french forum in the past. I have written to her asking for a tracking number ASAP, but I'm unsure what else I can do at this point. It's too soon to open a Paypal claim, but I fear that if I wait the required number of days, she might move the money out of her Paypal account.
Keladry > please keep us in touch, can you tell us which type of BJD you bought? The sales seem to be her dolls but I know that Celyne has sold a Leeke Ching in june 2007 on ebay, using the account of a friend. That friend contacted me when she discovers what Celyne has done and gave me the list of the sales. As far as we know, none of them were Dollfair's stolen dolls. Unfortunately, it doesn't seem Celyne22 sell them to refund the money she still owes to several DoA members. >_>
I bought a MiniFee Soo with a B-Line body. In her older posts on MaterielCeleste, some pictures show a MiniFee Soo, and I think it's the same doll. Celyne responded promptly to my inquiry with a working tracking number. So far, the sale seems legit.
