[EDIT] I need to put cecily on hold due to school work... some good news is that I get to make a head mold and cast it for my design tech class, the bad news is it will most likely not be the usual BJD resin and probably a very hard plastic that will be entirely white.[EDIT] ok, I know, clay and paper mache not the smartest things to use and really heavy... but it's all I have at the moment (since I found a big 4 pound block of clay in the garage) and it will be cheaper and easier fer test dollies! and hopefully covering the drying clay with paper mache will prefent cracking/crumbling. So here she is, started last night and worked for around 3 hours. haven't gotten very far. any critiquing and comments very welcome as this is my first BJD attempt! arrgg I have so much farther left till I finish >D P.S. I expect her to be around 53-55cm's so not really MSD or SD sized...
GORGEOUS!! She looks identical to your drawing, except for the nose (it's a little wider, perhaps African in ethnicity), and is 100 times better than I could ever hope to attempt! Can't wait to see the rest!
will do! i'll probably sand her down once she dries before applying the paper mache also started working on her chest peice today, will post pics tommorrow!
looking good! But why is thier a need to use paper mache? Its really hard to put paper strips on somthing so details? Or are you just talking about putting the glue over it?
the need for her to be covered by paper mache is because clay can sometimes crumble and fall to peices, especially the more detailed stuff, and since I don't think I'll be able to oven her then she's goingto need an outer covering. It matters how big the strips of paper you use are, and the kind of paper used that can make it difficult. :3
OH WOW where did you find that pic?! I didn't even know they made a bjd for the newest G.I.T.S. movie XD Morea, I can't wait to see her finished ^_^
