    5. Hi Quistopolis.
Thank you for your interest and I apologize for delay we had a storm up here and it knocked out our internet for the last two days! Comcast guy literally just left after working for 3 and a half hours!

    8. I can't tell you how excited I am being as this is actually close enough for me to possably attend! Now if work will just cooperate so that I can. ^_^

    9. PamSD and I just signed up as vendors, we're really looking forward to seeing everyone there!

    10. Thank you Robin, sent you confirmation looking forward to seeing you guys too. I am also checking on that question you asked about lighting.

Generally there is really good indirect light at this venue but on the off chance the day is gloomy I am sure vendors will want to know what kind of lighting is in place already or if they need to bring additional lighting.

When I get that info I will post here for everyone . Thanks for bringing up the good question :)

I also wanted to take this time to add some more general info:

If you anyone has additional questions that are not answered on the FAQ or Vendor information located on the website

      http://www.ccbjd.org/faqs.html

      http://www.ccbjd.org/vendor.html

Please feel free to email me but anytime but if you email me Friday after 4 pm your response will come Monday :) I try to stay away from computer on weekends. Thank you for understanding!

    11. I am so excited! This is my first chance to attend. I'm now just up the road so to speak (N of Napa).
I hope to see many old friends. I've been out of the loop dealing with a move and new dolls.

      Cheryl
      Crawford Manor Dolls

    12. Yay! I registered and everything! I'll be coming in all the way from Denver, Colorado!

    13. I just added a page on the website for people who would like to do a room share or ride share or both!

This would help reduce costs for all parties involved and you can make some life long friends this way!

      Check it out http://www.ccbjd.org/roomorrideshare.html

    14. Will there be any registration options that don't include all the meals (i.e. an Expo Only pass)?
I'm local, & would show up for the con events if I didn't have to pay for meals that I'm not going to attend.

    15. Hi,

      Excellent question!

Long answer: This venue is making their money up for renting this facility to us based on food sales. Since Marin county can be pricey we were able to negotiate a 'take everything in to account price structure' reasonable deal in a safe ,pretty, roomy, free and easy parking at a dedicated solely to us site.

There were certain things about our last event and other events held that we were approached about that were concerns to some con goers and this year I am happy to say we have addressed 85% of them with this venue.

Another reason is it makes it a lot easier for con goers not to have restricted access to any area of the site.
If your hesitancy is based off of dietary restrictions we can always work with you and the caterers to make sure you have something to eat.

If it is based off wanting to save money , if you save just 10$ a month now till May you will have a little over the Saturday Admission. Likewise if you save $20 a month now till May you will have a little over for the two days! When its is broken down like that its not that hard .

The meals and seating are how we do give aways as well. Last event we taped winning envelopes under chairs at the meal.( We plan to do the same this year just with out the envelopes since people may be expecting that) Also its a great way to get to know other people in the BJD community that are outside your area, It was really fun.

Also we at CCBJD do not profit for any money overage in case that was a concern. 99% of attendees prereigster so all admission cost is accounted for and any and all monies go to the convention in one form or another be it , rental cost, food cost, additional prizes, props, printing, banners etc.
Last event Paulette Goodreau' from Goodreau doll donated dolls as prizes and gifted me one for as she put it ' all my hard work' however I declined it and instead after letting her know, made it a prize at the con. My intention is not to brag but just to reassure you if that may have been a concern.

Anyhow it would be a shame to miss the whole event but I hope I answered your question !

    16. Anyone looking for a roommate at the Corte Madera Inn? I have a room with two beds booked! I'll be flying in so I don't have transportation though!
Also, I do not snore! :)

    17. No, I have money & am able to eat anything that moves. ^^ Thanks anyway.

    18. Okay! I've got a roomie! I can't wait for this event! OMG, how cool would it be if I won something?!!!! *dreams*

    19. I am looking forward to how close this is to where I live :) With my work schedule I wouldn't be able to get there until 6pm at the earliest Friday though so I'm not sure what to do, will all the food have been served by then? I may have to do Sat only if that is the case.

    20. This is the weekend before finals for me do I shouldn't go! Sounds like a lot of fun though. Which day would you recommend going if someone can only I one day?

    21. I can discuss this with the venue to be able to keep a dinner plate for you since by that time dessert will probably being served. So it should not be a promblem to have your dinner plate brought since every is still sitting and eating.
I made it a little early to help people beat traffic if they took off work a couple of hours early but I know not everyone is able to do that. I'll get back and post after I talk to the venue about it. Thank you for letting me know.

    22. Since you are comming up from Irvine I would come up saturday . That way you still get lunch and can get to the vendor room for some great BJD shopping and photo opps have better lighting during the day So if you have to choose I would choose saturday that way you can drive back the same day. :)

    23. I don't know if I replied about my meal preference... I hope it's not too late... Do I just send an email?

    24. Hi,
You still have time :) email or post since Ill
Be presenting everyone with the choices
sometime at the end of next month :)

    25. SWEET! I think I want Fish... :) I can't wait for the convention!!!

    26. Thinking about it I am not sure we can even get there by 6 so I think we will just go Sat this time. Thanks though!

    27. You should just take all of Friday off since it is a few months away :) Then you can help me sample cupcakes lol.

    28. Aso added new companies donating and we are just waiting on a banner from a new Vendor as well.

Also if you have checked the "Room and Ride" there is a new Ad to share a room with a vendor. That would be cool to share with a vendor then you guys can talk shop at night!

Remember if you are looking to share a room or ride or both to get to the convention place an ad Please see the page on http://www.ccbjd.org/roomorrideshare.html

    29. My fingers are crossed is this something I can possibly do?
I'm sure if my labs are OK, it shouldn't be a problem, hmm.
      Shell

    30. I hope everything comes out good from your labs either way! It would be nice to meet you and your resin kids in person:)

    31. Oh I'm so excited! I love when conventions grow!!!

    32. I'm considering attending this conference because of a number of reasons but specifically because I'm new to the BJD world and would love to see demos and tutorials live. Do you know what types of demos/tutorials will be done at the convention?? Thanks!

    33. Another question? How large does this event normally run? I'm a photographer and is it ok if I come in taking pictures for my own personal use and post on my website?

Will there be "shopping" for my doll Alythia? I have yet to find a local place to actually buy more clothes and accessories for her... Hate waiting for online orders, especially ones overseas.

    34. oOO, Good question about Photography! I didn't even think to ask!

    35. Hi,
Good questions! Right now we are getting our schedule down for the tutorials, receiving requests, and also making inquires.

But yes standard we will have a face up tutorial ,care and cleaning possibly sewing the artists have to make arrangements etc. That is the one thing this event that is a little slower.

Yes everyone can take their own photos and use on their websites or blogs .One thing though is you might want to ask individuals Attendees ,Staff and Vendors if its okay about taking photos of them or their dolls.

Everyone who attends these BJD conventions are super friendly especially at the meet and greets where you meet other BJD lovers in a casual environment.

But pictures of the grounds ,decorations, food and photo staging areas are all yeses!

I'm not familiar with your Alythia, does she have a website . From your sig she looks like a slim mini maybe? but I wear glasses so I could be wrong.

      Thanks!

edit- last event we had 150 people , this year we hope for around the same if not more since this location is alot better for some people then our last one.

    36. Alythia is an MSD PlanetDoll Tara. If you click on my blog there is an article all about her with a slideshow that links to my photography website.

I'm asking about tutorials/demos because I'm new and have no one local I can ask for help. I'm specifically interested in how to unstring and restring my doll. I'm very anxious about attempting it because I'm afraid of destroying her. Will there be a tutorial about that so I can have some hands on experience?

    37. I would have loved to go, but this is a bit too north for me. Maybe next year if its in centralized CA.

    38. I got a new camera too! Yay!
      I'm sooo excited about this!

Katzy if there aren't tutorials, I'm sure there will be guests who are experienced with re-stringing that might bring along tools...

    39. Okay so I just paid for my ticket. I went through paypal and it was so quick that nowhere in the process did I get a chance to put my name or anything. Aichan, do you get this information from my paypal account through payment? How does this work? Will I get a order confirmation via email? How will you know I paid?? lol

    40. Hi,

Thank you for signing up. I just sent you your confirmation. We have to enter you in the database before a confirmation goes out. :)
My turn around time for response is 24 hours so dont be anxious if my answer if not there in a few hours. You also just bring your printed paypal receipt to the con and show it at the registration desk. Or you can always call me!

    41. I'm sorry ! You did go last event didn't you?

      ---

Emisnnot That is so cool you got a new camera! Thats a good idea !

    42. This is right in the middle of finals for me! *waterfall tears* Try for a SoCal local next year, so I can come, even with finals!

    43. So sad not to be able to make it-- I found out that the weekend would be impossible for me... Anyway, it looks like it's going to be a fabulous convention, so I hope everyone has fun and takes photographs, because I look forward to reading all about it after!

      =^__^=
      Anneko

    44. If anyone knows of any other events like this that are in or around the Bay Area, California, please let me know. I'd love to attend more meetups/conventions like this to meet more people around me with this same interest. :)

    45. A good email list to get on is Karen's

      http://www.contemporarydollshop.com/

She is a vendor at a lot of doll shows plus always has a lot of stock ( she will be vending at CCBJD too)
but she always sends out an email to let people know what bjd shows are coming up.

      Anneko, sailorchiron

I'm sorry you can't come! I know you get busy and sailorchiron ack finals! The only way around that is to move the con to the summer but it seems like there are already so many summer cons we would have to compete with it would be impossible :(

You could always come up Saturday and leave Sunday morning nudge nudge!

    47. Thats what you get for being a working girl! You'll be missed :)

    48. I just bought 2 tickets for myself and my husband! What do I need to present at the door? just the PayPal receipt?
      Thanks!

    49. Hi Tetradeka,

San Luis? I go to Cambria all the time my sister lives there ! Thank you for signing up-

You will get a confirmation email sent to you later today but you can bring your printed paypal receipt to registration.

If you have any other questions please do not hesitate to ask!

    50. Thank you, I got it just now! I can't wait :)

    51. It's difficult to organize a show in a city so far away from where one lives, and Aichan lives in NorCal. Are you aware there's already a show in San Diego? It's generally in Nov/Dec, I'm hoping Bruce will have information that we can bring and have at our table.

Hopefully CCBJD will become a regular yearly event, and people will be able to plan in advance for it. That would be great!

    52. Yes Bruce usually has his convention in November or December and its always really fun I hear. ( I plan to go this year!)

Announcing a new Doll Sponsor: ( just waiting for banner!)

      http://salondecoco.net/

    53. @Aichan, thank you for your suggestion and I have signed up for her email newsletter. I'm assuming that will give me the latest news on events around my area. I realy can't wait!

    54. Hooray for all the fabulous vendors!!!! They are all fantastic. I can't wait to see everyone and everything there!

    55. I love that more vendors are hopping on! This is my first BJD con and I'm coming in from Denver, Colorado so I'm pretty psyched! I hope it's a big deal!

    56. emisinottThe first con I hosted actually started out as wanting to make a get together luncheon for maybe 40 or so people, then I started adding things and well it turned into a mini con by the time I have it all on paper.
I know this year because of the economy some people from last year may not be able to attend and we will miss them!

katzyYour welcome! Yes Karen always seems to be doing doll events all around the bay area.

      Annoucement:

We only have 6 Gift bags left- We will have regular bags with information from different doll companies and vendors but their are only 6 swag bags with little presents from the convention CCBJD etc.

    57. I'm glad I saw the news posting, I plan to come up on Saturday with some friends! ^^ Are there any lotteries or giveaways on Saturday or is that all going on Friday at dinner?

    58. We try to balance it out for both days but since the meet and greets( Friday ) usually tend to be smaller there is a better chance of winning something.

I dont have it all down yet but roughly we have dolls and and doll heads to give out both days.

Some are random , some will be game winners, some are predetermined like this event we give a prize for

1- First one to sign up for convention
2- The person who has traveled the farthest to get to the convention ( this one is still open of course)

      etc

      Sneak peak at some prizes
