Discounts for hotel rooms- It seems like the holiday inn may be booked up ( you can give them a call if you like becuse you never know) but the good news is that -La quinta Hotel three blocks down from Holiday inn has agreed to catch the overflow from our convention. Parking: Please enter the hotel parking garage on TULARE street. The YELLOW level and GREEN level ( Blue level might be parked up)Parking is FREE on weekends. The UNDERGROUND parking garages in the downtown area are all shared by the Courthouse, Club One and Holiday Inn. You can check to see if there is parking under the hotel if not you can come out and go in to the underground parking under the court house across the street. I plan to see if I can take some photos of the area with notes so that people are more familar when they get there.

Hello LLeaf! Thank you for your support and if you can spread the word to anyone who loves dolls in general that would be great!

 

We wanted to have one in California for BJD lovers that are not able to attend outside of the state and there are a growing number of BJD lovers here in the central valley.
Another reason why we wanted to have one this year since GoGa was taking 2010 off. Maybe we could leap frog with Goga , one year they hold it the next we do lol.

Thank you all for your input on dates. I saw that plasticaobscura had mentioned that in the News thread.


I do not want to conflict with any other conventions for sure but It depends on when we can get the contract signed . (The sooner the better hint hint preregister)

Is there a second date which would also be appealing aside from the 22nd since its always nice to have a back up date.

 

Anarwyn are you attending the anime convention at the end of the month? I am looking for feedback on how many people would like to attend on the Saturday 22nd instead of the last saturday.

 

Well we are going to shoot for the 22nd since that date seems to be the generally favored date

Anarwyn - I went ahead and took care of that. Instead of a "Buy now" Button there is an "Add to cart" button which should allow a little more freedom.

cirquemom We are shooting for the weekend that there is no hoildays and no other conventions, so hopefully if we can get in and sign the hotel contract we can get ahold of the 22nd for ours.

Also we had put up this page with a list of places in Fresno like the Japanese gardens, the Meux home, also the Museum to vist. There are also some hotel suggestions on this page.

I stayed in Brisbane in Nor Cal over the weekend in a hotel tht originally cost 150.00 a night for 49.00 dollars a night. True story!

I looked in to group rates at the hotel we want to hold it at and the best that they can give is a minimum of 10 rooms for 100.00 each . I dont really think that is a very large savings and we cannot lock ourselves in to an obligation like that.

I am going to wait before I start inquiring for Guests since I want to have the hotel contract and have the date firm so that I can in turn let them know what dates for sure.


Anarwyn Oh dont even worry about it I dont mind at all. Your questions bring up good points and help me iron out wrinkles! When you register you can add your daughter's ( and friend) names in the note section if you are paying for more then one package.

Eyedollatry Like Kpatillo said all non BJD dolls are welcome to attend . We are extending the invitation to Pullips and Blythes as well and the many others that I am sure are out there. Since we would like this event to be a family friendly event we ask that doll and attendee atire be rated "G or PG" no matter what gender your doll is

v00kimba00v I am so sorry you feel that way and rest assured there is another BJD Con in TEXAS that is happening this summer that you can catch as well as the one in NEW YORK in the summer as well. The nice thing about this BJD hobby is that it is expanding and there are BJD Cons that are now becoming more of a frequent thing like the one held last year in S.F by GoGa Doll.

Q: Can I have more then one table?

A: Right now it is on a first come first serve basis and we have see if we at a later time can provide more tables. We have to first secure the proper size room. We will contact anyone who expresses an interest in addtional tables.Please let us know at the time of making your payment if you would like more then 2 tables then we will put you on a contact list. Extra tables are 10.00 each for a 6 foot table the same cost that the hotel is charging us.

Q: Is there another way beside Paypal in which I can pay you ?

A:Yes there is. You can send Check( Personal or Business) or a Money order. Please include what package you want as a vendor and also what Luncheon plate as well as any additional extras. Please email us for address.

Yes we had another Vendor sign up that specializes in BJD costumes named Bergan Fields. People are slowly trickling in I guess waiting for after the holidays but the cut off point is Jan 31st for Preregistration and to lock in these inexpensive prices.

I can totally understand that!

January is our "make it or break it" month. We need to sign the contract by Feb1st if this is going to happen for May. We are looking at either the weekend of the 15th or 22nd.

But since this is a non profit venture and is being done partially out of pocket and partially by the number of attendees and vendor fees we have till the 31st to know . We do not want to drag it out any longer then that.

If we do not get up all the funds by Jan 31st * all * monies will be refunded in full to vendors and attendees.

So if you know you would like to attend and can be flexible about the dates (15th or 22nd) then please sign up. Everyone that signs up brings us closer to announcing a firm date and location.

Also for hotels there are plenty of hotels in Fresno as well as Clovis

Q: Can I get a discount if I want to attend as a vendor but am also willing to provide demostrations?

A: Yes! This is one of the reasons our vendor packages include a convention pass for an assistant. Your assistant can manage your sales while you provide demostrations . An easy schedule and discount can be worked out !

Most people want the date set before commiting so before we approach anyone as a special guest we need to get the date set in stone this month for May.

 

Added Pregister raffle prizes-- Resin BJD heads pics coming soon--Only two more weeks availble for Luncheon after that it is 25.00 for registerstration and no lunch or entry for Resin heads.


Right now we are working on a few more prizes for pre-registration raffle so stay tuned.

The Fresno Yosemite Intl airport Fresno, CA 93727 to the Ramada Inn is about 9 miles or 12 mintues away .

The airport to the hoilday inn is closer at 6 milies and say 10 mintues away

We considered having it at a airport hotel but the noise would probably get bothersome.
