Modification Cardassians

Dec 3, 2014

    1. Here are the two newest additions to my Doll family. My Cardassians If you don't know what they are they are an alien race from Star Trek here is some info Cardassian I did all the work myself took about 8hours for both dolls using a proxy clay making then parts and gluing them on. I have two A boy and a Girl (Pythas and Nal). The main difference between these dolls is Nal is grey skin. Pythas was white that I had to modify. I know there hair is a bit off with other Cardassian styles but I am still working on that they're not 100% complete but there modifications are and thats what matters here.

First what we have is Pythas:

    2. They are very very good! I have been a big fan of Star Trek alien species since the beginning way back in 1967 when I was 13! Really like the Cardassians. Your mods are very good and look just like the skin of a Cardassian. Will you be making a Bajor too? I bet it would be awesome! Can't wait to see the finished product. I am making an alien woman from another television show, "Defiance". She is Stahma Tarr, a Castithan. I just got her head back from the faceup artists. I tried to paint it myself but just could not get it though her body came out good. Keep them coming! Great work!

PS LOVE your Spock and Kirk blogs!

    3. I have one Bajoran Sarish Tom. He is a bit beat up but he keeps on going. I love the Cardassians they are my favorite I usually cosplay as Mrs. Dukat.
I have two Trills and I have a klingon head (thats came out wrong) soon to have 3 Trills. I love my Star Trekkie dolls.

Here is Tom and he has the right about amount of fear on his face. Lol I don't know why I he looks that way right now jut the angle of the picture.

    4. WONDERFUL! I LOVE that you are doing all of these Star Trek dolls!!! I collect a LOT of Star Trek things and have some pretty old action figures from the 70's that I actually got during the 70s. I am an old Trekker lol! I will surely follow your posts and blog to see where this goes! You are a very good modder!

    5. They look great! :D
Will you be sharing pics of the Klingon and Trill, too?

    6. Well the Klingon is just a head handmade but I can send you a pm of it. The Trills ya I will post but not in this tread. Glad you like them :)

    7. Finally someone has done a Cardassian mod, I love Cardassians<3. They look good, especially Pythas. You said you made the parts and then glued them on. You do know that apoxie (that's how you spell it;) ) clay can be used directly on resin, right? That way you can really blend the mods into the resin (but you'll probably have to paint some of the resin on the doll where the clay got smoothed over it). On Nal the mods really do look glued on I have to say^^;; It could be smoother where the clay meets the resin, and I'm a bit puzzled by the ears. I seem to remember those ear ridges went all around the shell of the ear. Could you not find a good picture of how Cardassian ear ridges look or did you just get creative since she's your own design? Just wondering since I drew a bunch of Cardassian fanart in my DS9 fangirl days and I seem to remember Cardie ears have a different design^^;; But your doll, your decision on how she looks, keep up the good work!

    8. The Aproxie doesn't stay on unless it is rubbed in I placed it on top and then it fell off and so you glue it, if were to rub it in I would stay on. The ears don't go all the way around the top is very human. I cosplay as one and the reason they cover the ears a lot is because the make on the ears is very hard and sensitive to do but it has been done. example

With Nal she was a Drow doll and so i left her ears since they are covered by her wig.
Are you on tumblr? I know a few of the cardassian artists there.

    9. That pic is a bit small to see what you mean, but I believe you:). I'm not on Tumblr, but the Cardassian drawings I did are on my Deviantart (http://puffheadz.deviantart.com). Thanks for the pointer about apoxie and how to stick it on resin btw, I've seen many epoxie mods but I've never tried it myself yet, so that's good to know^^. Out of curiosity, will you make your dolls Cardassian armor too at some point? Also, awesome that you cosplay them! Yes, you stick to cosplaying Mrs Dukat, then I can keep Damar all to myself;).

    10. I have thought about doing the cardassian uniforms but the two that I have made so far are members of the obsidian order then would not be wearing military uniforms. But Nal does have a built in armour, she is a Withdoll Angela LE and she has the armour parts making her a chainmaille bikini right now to match. If I get another one I will consider who that will be. I have my action figures of Garak and Dukat so I don't think I will be making them into dolls anytime soon, maybe a Parmak or Rugal.

    11. Wow, they look so good! Do you plan on making more ST aliens in the future? Klingons, perhaps? ;)

    12. These are so cool, what a great project!!
I love Star Trek, and Cardassians in particular. :D
