Laelen; Sorry, I didn't get anything EMS, so I can't tell you. :C Duofan; Well, at least your items are moving -- like I said, they're not going anywhere until they're actually sent. - even if it could take three months to actually get to you. Let's cross our fingers that Leekeworld is just giving you some gross over-estimates. World-wide shipping rarely has been known to take up to three, but the strike wasn't that long, and not in any country but ours, so unless they have two months of packages piled up over there, I really don't think it'll take longer than eight weeks, which is fairly standard. Keep us updated.
Lelite I hope you don't have to wait for too long.... I'm waiting for a package sent EMS from Canada a week ago and it's status on the Canada Post site is still "accepted at the post office" - goodness knows how long it will be there before it is even put on a plane...
I've got a package sent from a seller here on DoA, and according to the tracking information, it hasn't moved since June 8th. I assumed it was just because of the strike, but now that the strike is over, I am wondering how much I should be worrying. We used International Letter.
Tennessee, and as far as I can tell, the package hasn't left the state. :0( But thank-you very much for the response!
You're also in Vancouver, and it's a mail hub for many places -- as a port city, it gets a lot of mail. I was lucky, because my boy got stuck after he'd been sent, but a good several days after. What probably happened to you is that your package is stuck in the build-up of what's been neglected over the strike. Hold tight for maybe two more weeks. Post won't track inquiries before 70 days have past, anyway. Hang in there! I'm sure things are okay! Just slow!
Well, things are moving along at a decent pace in my opinion. I ordered a pair of custom eyes and they were shipped on the 13, (June) a few days before the strike started and they arrived yesterday with my mail. (It was an item from the US) However, an item that was shipped on June 6th (from Thailand) and it sat at Vancouver customs up until today according to the tracking number I was a bit disheartened to see it there for almost a month with no update to it besides that the facility was part of the labor dispute, but I know they must have a back log of stuff from the strike. Patience is key. Have faith! Your items will come ♥
So, Leekeworld shipped my stuff Sunday and when I checked the Tracking, it just passed through customs and seems they will be delivered tomorrow. Unless this is the part that turns into 3 motnhs XD
Splynterhayde: Okay, thanks! I guess I didn't realize how much things would be affected; it's good to hear that this is pretty normal strike after-math. Machiko: Thank-you for the assurances. I'm glad to hear that your items finally started moving. I will try to be patient ... I just wasn't sure how patient I needed to be. Duofan: Well, that sounds exciting, especially after the ominous 3 months message.
I'm not one hundred percent sure it's strike aftermath, but I think, depending on which direction your mail's coming from, and by the shipping method you chose (the least expensive means it's less priority, and if it's ground, it'll be even less priority), you could be waiting awhile. Seems like things are starting to get clear, though -- as Duofan's package seems to be here, already. Hang tight! I'm crossing my fingers for you. Like I said, if seventy days pass, send Post a message right away, and get your seller to the same from their end to their postal company.
My package was shipped Sunday also - it still hasn't passed customs yet, but I don't think it'll be too much of a hold-up. It very well may be that after customs is where the real wait begins - because then it hits the CP facilities and the backlog. Orrrrrr, and I'm hoping this is the case, it doesn't, because I'm pretty sure that EMS is supposed to come with a delivery time guarantee, so hopefully they'll be going through them a bit faster. In any case, I'm in no rush for this package, because the doll it's for isn't even shipped yet so it'll arrive here before the doll regardless, even if there is a backlog. Further ahead in the queue and all.
Well as I mentioned above, the item that was shipped from Thailand to me on June 6th actually did 'show' up at my door today, since it was being delivered as an Xpresspost item. (Good thing I asked for registered mail so I could stalk the item like a crazy person...) However, I wasn't home to receive it! I just got the dreaded notice to pick it up at the post office..but at least I know it is here now So it took a month to get to my doorstep (2 weeks of striking...2 weeks waiting). That's kind of the wait time I would expect from a low priority item from China. Not bad overall ^__^' I just did a small GO for Luts with my friends, they shipped the package on Monday (July 4th), and it's already cleared from Korea into Canada, into a processing facility in Ontario! It's just going through customs apparently... And I also just finished a layaway for a doll, and she was shipped from New Zealand (on July 1st) and she is also in customs (but in Vancouver). Since all of these items I purchased have tracking numbers, it definitely reassures me. But CP is definitely catching up with the backlog I think. But yes. if your item doesn't show up within 70 days, that's when you really need to start contacting Canada Post.
Well, it was extremely surprising to me because the tracking said this afternoon that the package hadn't left Tenasee -- but then, Lo and behold, in the evening, it was in my mailbox! Splynterhayde: It was a very pleasant shock to find the package was already here. Thanks so much for your advice and kind words! It might sound silly, but I really appreciated having someone reply so helpfully to my comments. ...I think my faith in the tracking system has been somewhat shaken though.
I should have mentioned that, too -- sometimes tracking systems just aren't used or updated. And with the strike the way it was, I can see why there'd be less updates, since they have to be entered manually into the system. When my Lina shipped from his customizer in Norway, I ran into a similar problem. And no worries! I had the knowledge and the time, so may as well share what I know, right? ? Has everyone else's wayward packages arrived, yet?
So my package Arrived and passed through Customs on the 6th. Usually the packaged would have been delivered yesterday but it never came. I am hoping it will be delivered today so I guess there is some lag ?
Yeah, Canada Post announced that they've suspended their service guarantee (which is their term for having the item delivered on the expected date listed) for the time being as they work through their backlog. It's in this webpage. I had a package Manitoba that got delivered July 7 when the expected delivery date was July 6. It was only a day's difference, and pretty understandable as they've probably got quite a lot of mail to move. Hang in there ^^
I've got three packages during this week, two of them are coming from my GO and they arrived safety, one is buying the stuff for my boys, unhapply I was waiting for a month for one of my package which came from US(using USPS), but I never get it, the update was stopped at June 9th (even early than the strike), I asked the seller to contact the USPS' office and they said than the item is left from US and coming to Canada the 11th, but even after the strike, the update didn't renew at all and now I'm still waiting for it, I don't totally have idea at all if the package is missing or just keep in the stock, waiting for delivery...Feel soooo confused...T____________T ========== Just called Canada post's customer service and I'm becoming worried...because they said than they didn't received this package by checking with the tracking number...Do the package is in Canada or not? Omg feel so tired for waiting...=_______= Do anyone know what can I do for it?...=_____________=
We are still waiting on a package from a GO that was sent during the strike... guess the backlog hasn't been completely worked out yet.
Both my packages (one from Korea and one from New Zealand) arrived today about 15 minutes ago I was only expecting one, so having both arrive was quite unexpected. I think depending on what type of shipment method was chosen to ship items helps too...I find anything that needs a signature just arrives faster ^__^' As for regular mail...I think I've gotten most of mine from when the strike started. Old bills and stuff that I had already paid off ^__^'
I'm still waiting on a wig that was shipped early June, but I expect it to take awhile. All my regular mail has been showing up though, so that's a relief
the company sent my head during the strike even though I warned them about it. when I went to check the tracking number yesterday it says "Labour disruption affecting this location; item delayed" the thing that really bothers me is the date: june 22 she's been there for almost 3 weeks!!!! ;__________;
@ Sahoma hang in there >_< So my EMS Package is still in limbo and I never realized they added new "sections " : Product Type: International Inbound Courier Updated Delivery : To be determined Delivery date changed : To be determined 2011/07/06 04:22 MISSISSAUGA Item processed at postal facility It's annoys me that I ordered clothes from the States and the girl shipped it on the 5th of July by regular airmail ( 1-2 weeks ) and I got the package friday. But the EMS is in Limbo. It's so weird o_o I ordered something from Hong Kong, Can't wait to see how that's going to play out.
Yep, mine's been in that same limbo for a week, with the same "details" - i.e., "we dunno anything, TBD!" My dolly shipped yesterday too, this makes me very nervous and sad. ;_; I hope he doesn't get stuck like his wig!
Uh... I have shipped a doll last week to Canada, and I have something shipped from Canada to me this week, too. Let's see. D:
Alright I got an Update : 2011/07/06 04:22 MISSISSAUGA Item processed at postal facility 2011/07/12 06:58 MONTREAL Item processed at local delivery facility So it took them 4 Days to get it delivered from the Customs to Montreal ( Usually it takes 1 day ) So there is at least a 4 Business Days Lag - . - Update: My packaged has been delivered to my place. So if anyone is wondering if Leekeworld Says it takes 3 Months: Leekeworld Shipped on July 4th. Packaged Arrives July 12th , Around 6 Business Days.
Well, my wig arrived today. It was delayed by about a week from what it normally took, so, no three months delay thank god. The box was a bit crushed, but it was a huge box with a tiny wig inside and a lot of empty space, so I'm not surprised. My doll is still stuck in the limbo - however, Canada Post made a public announcement saying that they intend to clear the backlog by the end of this week, and apparently they're working at triple normal capacity. The union insists it's possible to clear up the backlog sooner if they give people more hours, so I guess it's not too terrible after all. (Uh, crossing fingers)
I had a doll head package coming in from Canada that was listed as "item delayed" for a few days. But checking it now it shows that it was delivered in to the USA on the 13th, so hopefully it should arrive soon. I think theyre filtering through it all pretty quickly considering my parcel was sent on the 8th and is already in my country now by the 13th.
I don't really think export is on a slowdown, it's just imports that I've seen to be frustrating. I'm at week 3 waiting on a package from China. I'm really hoping it won't stretch to a month or more... :{
I just received today a package from Thailand it was mailed around June 14... so almost a month, but at least it arrived with no damage.
I ordered two wigs after the strike was over, and what I find weird is that as soon as I got the tracking number, it said : Item Delayed - Temporary volume surge as we resume operations I don't think it had the time to reach Canada yet, and it already says that it's delayed. So I have no idea where it's blocked exactly. On the other side, I had commissioned a faceup and the artist sent the head on the very first day of the strike. It was of course delayed, but fortunately, I got it soon after the strike ended.
I received 2 packages last week and will certainly get 3 this week. I only got a one day delay when they got to custom where they said they had too much and they weren't working that day... Though now I have a package stuck since the 17 in MISSISSAUGA, that never happened before :/ I should have gotten that package today, hoping to get it tomorrow. I also have another package that was sent in accelarated but is taking longer then any other packages I am waiting for :/ Other then that most of my package are going well.
Hi guys! Don't mean to thread jump but I just have a question. I was not aware of what was going on with mail to/from Canada. I mailed a package last Thursday to Toronto...does that mean it will be a while before my person gets her doll? ~ Thanks
It may take 1 day more then it would habitually take before the person gets it ^^ I think the trouble is more for the packages that were sent during the strike or that are sent in express...
Aw, man... I'm still waiting on packages mailed before the strike began, yet I just recieved an airmail package I ordered after the strike ended. I hope they sort everything out soon! O_o;;
I'm waiting on a wig sent to the US from Canada on 7/11, but tracking is still just giving me "Item Delayed - Temporary volume surge as we resume operations". Come on, Canada Post. Surely my wig is more important than all that other backed up mail. I'd really just like any info or sign of movement at this point. I stupidly thought that at almost two weeks after resuming service, my package shouldn't be affected.
I'm also waiting on a package shipped from Canada on 07/08 to the USA. I'm happy I checked this thread.
Same here ! I should have waited longer. Some people are lucky and experience only one or two days of delay, but for me it's more than that... at least one week at this point.
Per Canada Post - "Mail Backlog Cleared 2011/07/19 Thanks to the hard work of employees, Canada Post has now successfully cleared all the mail that accumulated due to the June business disruption. Since resuming operations on June 27, Canada Post has processed 560 million pieces of mail. This has been done while carefully managing costs. We are now returning to normal operations and putting our service guarantees back in force. Going forward, you can expect quality service from Canada Post. " Hopefully this means our packages will start arriving. Of course even though this message is from three days ago, my wig still has the same "Item Delayed" tracking status.
I shipped a package to Canada about a week ago and although the status went from; quickly, the tracking hasnt been updating for 4days now. I stupidly thought after passing through customs[which should be the slow part] it would arrive to the owner in a day or two. Clearly I was wrong. HOPEFULLY, it'll arrive to the owner within the next day or two. I feel bad having her wait although it's not my fault. Oh, for the record, I shipped via EMS.
I'm freaking out too. I mailed a package right after the day the strike ended and so far only one from Canada has received my mail. Hopefully, it didn't get lost in a dark hole somewhere.
