Well ive shipped my little boys head off for a new face up and know that customs can be a fun experience when posting abroad and such. I sent him tracked priority and the tracking is now saying that they attempted a delivery 3 days ago with a specific time. Which is all well and good except the lovely face up artist ive sent him too is just telling me its wrong and that hes in customs What really worries me is that it says the package will be returned to me if its not picked up!! So what im asking is has anyone had experiences of tracking being wrong?? Will it sometimes say its been delivered if its in customs, does customs count as delivered?? I'm not sure so i thought i'd ask here as ive already spoken to the face up artist (who is very reliable) but it hasn't put me at ease any, i'm a worrier you see >< Thanks Leah x
Attempted delivery at unusual times of day/night is merely the EMS way of saying "yeah, we're holding it, we'll release it when we're good n ready and not before so stop hitting refresh damn you". It'll get there. Customs are probably assessing it's value.
I have been shipping items regularly for years now and only had one case of tracking being wrong. So, while its unlikely, it IS possible. However, my case didn't deal with customs, it was priority mail in the US, only one state away, actually. One day it said "OUT FOR DELIVERY" in a certain city, which was NOT the city I had shipped it to. Of course, this caused minor panic and a lot of confusion, but it was delivered to the correct address in the correct city the next day. We never did figure out why it was out for delivery in the wrong city for a day. I'm not that familiar with customs, but is it possible that maybe the item is in customs and the recipient was delivered a request to pick it up and pay customs fees? I've never had to pay a customs fee, but I have heard of them. And of items sitting in customs for lengthy periods because people refused to pay up. I'm not saying this is what is going on, but maybe?
Wouldn't it say if there was a charge? And the value isn't high enough i dont think.... good to know what it could be though thanks And i hope customs are being fun! its just a bit worrying as the time was 1.47am i just dont want to wait too long incase its sent back to me and ive wasted £8.00
Depends who you're tracking it with, if you use Track Trace, you'll get the accurate to the country tracking. Yeah the ridiculous middle of the night timings mean it's with customs. EMS use that when we import too.
You CANNOT trust tracking when dealing with British customs- those guys will screw you every which way they can, and whack a whole load of crazy import tax and "handling fees" on top of it. Don't believe anything they tell you until one of you actually has the doll in hand. When it goes into customs, they basically put pretty much anything on the tracking notices just to get you off their back. Weird notices usually mean it's in customs.
Everywhere i check it says attempted delivery in destination courty, it also gives details of the stages of arrival @_@ Ive juts been told no it wasn't, its in customs from the other end.... like i said though shes got super feedback and is nice but im worried its either lost or going to be sent back to me
Relax, give it a couple of days. Customs is a bitch anyway so it doesn't pay to fret about it either way ^^
As expected, I called today and the custom officer said your package is still being processed. It won't come out until Saturday at the least, he said, so please wait a little while more. Customs here is very slow. D: Especially for things that aren't sent via EMS. Even EMS can take up to 1 week! I'll keep you updated. And btw, sorry for posting here, but your PM inbox is full. orz
No worries but thank you for letting me know, ive just emptied it >< I just feel a lot better knowing where he is ^_^ tracking is SO much fun when its not accurate x
