I saw this Volks headplae on a this blank doll on Ebay. The seller is from HI, so I'm 100% not sure it's fake. The numbers are: 10.09/RF. The seller claims the doll to be a MSD Sakura, and the eyes holes do match, but I've never seen those numbers used before. Oh, and I've already checked Casting Dreams. Thanks!
I don't know enough about the range of Volks headplate markings to be able to help with ID, but I'm curious . . . why are you so sure that a seller in Hawaii (HI) must be peddling "100% fake"s? This is the first time I've ever seen a blanket accusation of a US state, and I can't help wondering if I've missed some news along the way.
Actually, that number seems legit. 10.09 would indicate when the doll was made and RF would be code for the store it was sold at. I don't know all of the store abbreviations, but my Kun, who was purchased in person at a Sumika branch in Tokyo, I can't remember which one, has similar numbers. I would have to wait until I got home to see exactly what they were.
I went to check my MSD Sakura's head plate (I bought her in person at the Akihabara Sumika) but it's fallen out and the baby is being fussy so I can't try to search for it but will try to find it tonight.
My F-17 boy was ordered at the Akihabara Sumika and has the number 09.11/FA so it seems plausible enough.
I seem to recall that the R in Bokkusu plates stand for Renewal. The renewal dolls have plates with R-something on them, it might well be F. It would mean that the MSD Sakura is a recent standard girl.
Are you sure the F isn't an E? E may stand for Edition so Renewal Edition? If it's this one I do believe it is 10.09 RE: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Volks-MSD-S...978?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item2313cdfc7a
Ah, yes! The renewal dolls are headplated RE, thank you ~Mimi~! I just couldn't remember, so annoying...!
