Priming Can I use Citadel Primer (for Warhammer miniatures) as Primer for my project?

Apr 16, 2011

    1. Can I use Vallejo Primer or Citadel white Primer on a sculpey prototype head for a bjd?
I use these to undercoat Warhammer miniatures and they come in spray can, it would be great if I could use these so I don't have to buy anything else, but are they suitable as Primer for a bjd project?

I could test it myself (although the cans are somewhere else at the moment) but since I have never used any Primer in a bjd project I'm not sure what I'm supposed to expect so not sure I could judge on its suitability as Primer.

    2. Probably but I would say always test before spraying it on your completed project, just to be sure. Sculpey can act funny with certain paints. I used some krylon indoor outdoor stuff on my first head and it just never dried, I was terrified I'd ruined the head. Luckily it came off with some mineral spirits and minimal oxidation, but it was a lesson learned.

    3. light sprays and many of them.
any paint can react to the polymer, i've used grey wilkos spray primer on grey sculpey and that was fine, and citadel black spray on that and fimo.
