New The doll is about 41cm tall (I should have measured before taking her apart for deep cleaning), single jointed at elbows and knees. She's an older lady and is yellowed. I cannot identify the maker's mark in her head cap. The B&W picture is from the head cap. The funky color photo is taken from my kneadable eraser after pressing it into the head cap. Not sure which way is right side up. IMG_2927 by Victoria Davis, on Flickr Image by Victoria Davis, on Flickr IMG_2921 by Victoria Davis, on Flickr
New I tried using AI to identify it and it said this is a Doll Chateau 'Elizabeth I or Elizabeth II. I have no idea if it is correct.
New My first instinct based on old memories was to say it might be serendipity sharmin. Serendipity sculpts were later bought and produced by dollndoll or ndoll. I've done some cursory sharmin searches on the forum just now and haven't ruled it out yet. It's hard researching these very old dolls. I never owned sharmin myself so I'm not totally confident. The lips on sharmin often look thinner to me painted but here, many old pictures in the database are actually still working - ish. Here It was the overall head shape and ears that made me think of that doll. If it's not her maybe this is still helpful and will lead you somewhere based on the style of sculpting. Good luck
New I don't think AI will know about such a niche hobby. The engravings look like Korean, not Chinese, so this wouldn't be doll chateau. Serendipity doll is a possibility; it seems in like with their style
New Lol, yeah, didn't look like a Doll Chateau to me either. Ironically, AI told me to ask on DoA, hehe!
New HOLY COW - you did it! She is a Serendipity Boding Sharmin! I recognized the lower eyelashes (or what was left of them). She even had the "bra" on. Thank you so much!!!
New Oh! She is! You'd never know she is such an elderly lady. She cleaned up so well. IMG_2929 by Victoria Davis, on Flickr
New Wow, she’s gorgeous! What a treasure, you are so lucky! I remember years ago I wanted one that was for sale on eBay and I didn’t get her and regretted it ever since! You did an amazing job bringing her to life, she’s amazing! Congratulations! ❤️ Love seeing her and am happy for you!
