Gonna go have a go now, although 3/5 of my current resins have grey-toned eyes, so... can't really do owt with the colour, but I'm sure the brightening effect will still work great.

oh thank you so much! i'm a total photoshop noob and this really helped me out!
after failing miserably many times at eyes before, i can actually make them look normal, not all bright and wierd
very helpful!

 

An easier thing to do is to just use to dodge tool for the eyes! =]

 

Adding a dodge to the eyes you'd still have to mask the area that you're working on in order for it to look right. However, dodge doesn't always bring out the proper tones and sometimes bleaches things out instead of making them more intense.

 

Thank you so much! I've brightened eyes before, but the real gem here was the advice about sharpening the eyes. That's totally true. Brilliant.

 

Great tutorial! You've explained it very well. It wouldn't have occurred to me to sharpen around the eyes.. I'm impressed.
