So, I'm interested in ordering from Bobobie. I was just wondering if there were any problems people had with ordering from them or if they were good to work with. I've heard good things so far, but just wanted to see for sure. Thanks. ^_^
i've only heard good things so far and talking to Dennis, the ppl at Bobobie are very nice. there are some ppl who have ordered specifially from them so the shipping i can't anser but from feedbacks, they sound gr8! good luck!
That's awesome, it definitelly makes me want to order from a company more when I know they're so great. hehe ^_^ Thanks, I'll see what I can do about ordering from them, then. hehehe
My experience was great and I plan on ordering from them again. I know shipping is a bit slow right now because they are a small company and got an influx of orders right around their holiday
Hehe it's great to hear they have such good service. And yeah, I figure the shipping would be kind of slow, so that doesn't bother me much. hehehe ^_^ I'm just tickled pink I was able to find a company that sells their dolls so cheap!!!!! That's amazing!!!
Hi hellsingmongrel Have you seen this? www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?t=123594&highlight=Bobobie
yup join us if u have time! It's very fun ^^ also Bobobie is still new so lack of choices really but they seem brilliant so far. The prices are also very affordable as a first or any doll.
Yeah I like Bobobie too!! Denis is great at communication. I did have one slight problem with them, I ordered some glass eyes that didn't arrive with the other stuff I ordered. I emailed them and a new pair were sent out (which are by the way, really nice). They did lose my order information but that was sorted out straight away too. I'm quite happy with them.
I just received my Ophelia. She is really lovely and I really like her quality and her sweet smile. She is a bit loose but still poses very well and she told me her charachter right away...not that usual for me. So I have a lovely bard that has come to live with us. And I have her harp all ready so cool. I had lovely communication with Dennis and he has been wonderful to work with. Things were slow, but worth the wait. Especailly since I ordered right before the spring break, like by hours So I would rather wait and have the good communication and great service and lovely doll!!! I know, I know, I have to do the picture thing. I had a wig ready for her so that was no problem. I am really planning on ordering at least one more doll from them and I really hope they do a large boy soon!
I've ordered my dolls, and they should be in by Monday-- just make sure not to order near a Chinese Holiday! I ordered back in February, but I did so during a national holiday, and had a big order to boot. ^__^;; The communication is great, Dennis has amazing patience. They email you when you get the tracking number, and tracking your package is easy too. Shipping is fairly quick-- I'll get my dolls in under 5 days, and I'm near the east coast of the US, pretty much half way around the world. I can rant and rave for quite a while- but I suggest him highly. Dennis answered all of my questions, is always polite, and goes out of his way to make sure things work the way they should. 15/10 on my scale.
Yeah, I saw that, but I don't have the time or the sewing abilities or the money to do it. I wish I did, but I'm still going to school right now, so I wouldn't have time, and my grandma would refuse to sew those things for me even if I did design them. XP But that really is an awesome contest! Just amazing! hehehe ^_^ Hehehe yeah, your Eric is what made me go "Well Hell, I need to look at Bobobie!!! O_O" I just barely started really looking seriously at Tinies, and I saw a Wishel that made me squee, and was all looking for owner pics of Wishels on the forum, and found your comparison thread, and I was like "omg, what??? That one really does seem to have more details! And the joints are better! Wait, it's less then the Wishels??? UNDER 100 DOLLARS??? SWEET!" XD And then when I got to the website, I just stared at the prices for about an hour in utter disbelief! hehehe XD I'm really glad they have such great service, I've REALLY got to order from them. hehehe ^_^ Yeah, everyone I've heard says he's really nice, and that's one of the biggest things for me to get me to order from a company. If they will bend over backwards to help their customers, I'll gladly do business with them! hehehe ^_^ Yeah, I loved the girl dolls they had. Maybe it's the low price, I don't know, but I don't normally like girl dolls, but I'd totally order their girls! hehehe ^_^ That's so cool, I'm glad you like your little Bard so much. hehe Yeah, I expect ordering from a doll company to be slow, since they're so far away, and they're handmade items. lol I can't wait to see your little resin baby! hehehe ^_^ That's cool, yeah, I'm thinking about ordering one of each doll, since they're so cheap! it'd need to be in stages, but it'd be so doable! hehe Niiiice, I can't wait to see your's too! hehehe XD Yeah, holidays always make orders go slower. lol Yeah, he sounds like a really really nice person. hehe And I'm glad they give you tracking info, I've heard that some companies don't, and owners have had nervous break downs trying to track their babies. x_X Wow, that IS fast shipping! O_O lol Niiice! hehehe XD That's awesome, I can't wait to do business with them, then! They sound absolutely awesome! hehehe XD
I am counting the days untill Erin arrives the owner pictures look lovely of her and I have an Ophelia onder and then I saw the Pandora head ...and I love that one too ...I might get that to swap with Ophelia as I do prefere the Pandora sculpt , Giggles but my first love is tiny , so I cant wait to see what others they release I would love a deaming head ...and an elf
I received my dolls from Bobobie yesterday. Yes, it took awhile for them to come, and I'll admit to getting nervous when I hadn't gotten a shipping notice and day 45 was near, but.... Dennis is great about replying to emails and I did get my dolls and I love them and would order from them again. M
I forgot to mention... I got my dolls on Tues... I forgot to post it up because I have been too busy playing with them and making dresses for Erin.. and a wig!
Yes, still good things. The Sprite I ordered came safe and sound in her sleeping bag, which did a good job protecting her. The one thing to avoid is maybe ask for no eye putty, as the kind they use is purple or blue and stains. Nice communication on the message board, more difficult by email. I had to bother them many times to get my Sprite sent earlier because it is a present for someone, but they were very nice about it.
hummm well I'v gotten My Abyss (the Apollo) and am getting two more bjds from them ^.^ The only thing I dont neccessarily like about them was..I had a LONG wait for my Abyss because they ran out of boxes. I understand though, they are a new company so issus like that will arise. oh! two other things you should know about the dolls themselvs, they are strung rather loosly and though he feels very smooth the sanding was done with a relativly low grit sand paper. making it easy for them to apear dirty with scraches. ^.^ as long as you clean thme it dosnt take away from the doll at all ^.^ -Kira
I just ordered a Sprite from them, and the communication is AMAZING! They answer your questions within a 24 hour period. By far the best customer service I have encountered.
you might want to check out some of the other threads here (one called stolen doll body). A couple of folks had problems with direct shipments and received either an empty box or a box with some items missing or damaged. Most likely the fault of the shipping company used and customs, but still a concern if ordering direct. Bobobie eventually did replace the items, but it was a big hassle for the buyers. I think they have since changed shippng companies, but I'm not sure - so you'd probably want to make sure of that. I just rec'd my Sprite and she is perfectly darling. I plan on getting more Bobobie elfs. But I will be buying them from a US dealer to avoid shipping problems. There's a doll store near me that will be carrying them soon and I feel that will be the best way to order.
Is bobobie a good place to buy a doll from? Good and bad, and can any one give me a link, everytime I try to go there the page can't come up. Thanks for the help
I can't remark on the quality of Bobobie bjds, however, they are fairly inexpensive! Junkyspot carries some Bobobie products, you might want to try there.
therer is another thread almost the same as this ...but I cant for the life of me find the link if I can I will post it but basically they are fantastic ,resin is stunning , customer service is brill Dennis is always on had to talk to I have a few Bobobie tiny and large , I now have my eyes on Sprite ...lovely and have no complaints at all I like them so much I had my Moona made with them , sorry I just couldnt find the other thread there are someother stores selling them as meiochan pointed out so you could look there . I always go to the site ...I do find it very slow loading up ...but it gets there in the end
I'm glad to have found this thread I've been comtemplating on getting a bobobie doll...I'm stuck between the sprite girl and the Christmas doll Charisma lol... both are beautiful
the dolls are fantastic quality and the sculpts kep getting better. I just ordered 4 more dolls from Denver Doll - I feel like that is safer than buying direct.
it depends as to if they have them in stock or not I know they have been busy lately you can always e.mail Dennis and ask , they have great communication
Arkady emailed them two weeks ago as she and D want to buy a 1/4 girl body for my birthday present and hasn't had a response yet :/
She should probably try again as I know Dennis had a problem with one of his computers recently. It is very unlike them not to communicate, Dennis is also on here a lot as well so perhaps a pm too may help
i'm guessing this is the bobobie feedback thread i just got a light tan Ophelia body. very fast shipping and Dennis is a dream to work with. he answered all my question and helped me with everything^^
I also have nothing but praise for Bobobie. My dolls (WS Ophelia & NS Apollo) are lovely; they look great together. The dolls look much better in person than they do on the website. They are strung loosely, but I have heard that the choice was made to do so, to avoid chipping and stress on the joints in transit. I don't mind - it's a lot easier to tighten a string than it is to restring a doll more loosely!! Dennis has also been lovely to me, answering all of my questions and going out of his way to provide good customer service.
I ended up PMing Dennis direct about my order and he responded very quickly and courteously. The Bobobie Sprite body I ordered was despatched by UPS and Dennis PMed me the tracking number; it reached the UK less than a week after payment was confirmed. I can highly recommend Dennis and Bobobie!
ing this one for my opinion... I love ordering directly from Bobobie, as you get personal responses regarding all you queries from Dennis, he is very hands on and deals directly with his customers, he has been very accommodating with special orders etc... I've ordered bobobie items from Junkyspot too (And Emory is just as attentive as Dennis might I add - both very service oriented AWESOME!!!), but only because I was already buying stuff from them and it made sense to combine the postage the only complaint I have to make is the web-site seems to crash every other day and it makes it difficult to check on your order status and messages.
I've not ordered directly from Bobobie but I am certainly planning on getting my Pandora direct, considering my Cookie is secondhand and I think he's lovely, so certainly getting another. Nice to see positive things about ordering direct from them, although they are strung loosely? Hmn, I guess my Cookie had been restrung then, because he kicks since his stinging is really tight. Though I do wonder what their shipping prices are like
I ordered a SD girl body directly from Bobobie and it was perfect. I've since bought 3 other Bobobie dolls through Denver Doll, A tiny Eric, A tiny Sunny and a boy sprite which was a special order. The quality now is as good if not better as the SD body I got last year.
I have to agree with everyone regarding the quality of Bobobie's dolls. My sprite is so beautiful! The resin is wonderfully smooth, and seems to hold heat well (like when she sits in my lap, she gets warm). I'm seriously considering getting an Elana from them.
One other thing about Bobobie. The stock pictures on their website are awful. The dolls are absolutely GORGEOUS in person. Re: the shipping question, its about the same as most other places. I think my SD cost $35 by EMS and got here in TWO days after I got the shipping notice!
i'm trying to decide which of the 60cm female Bobobie dolls to get... i'm stuck on either Elena, Rachel or Ophelia... anyone have pix of their dolls i could see? The ones on the Bobobie website aren't all that great. Thanks!!!
There's a very pretty Rachel in the database: http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?t=147243
I've been considering getting dolls from Bobobie, too. They have a great customer service, and Dennis is really great as well. He listens to people and suggestions that are made are actually taken into consideration, which is always great to see in any kind of company. I was a little worried that, because of the price, the quality of the dolls might not be good at all. But it's great to see that everyone seems to love them! I'm fairly sure I'm going to be ordering an Apollo sometime soon, then.
I have two Bobobies and a third on the way. The Tony I bought at Resin Con really sold me on them. I love the feel of the resin, their flexibility when posing, all the color choices, and the fact you can order any of the heads on either the girl or boy bodies. I didn't buy mine direct from the company. I got my first two through BlakRose Dolls (one in person at the con and one ordered through her website) and the one that's on the way I bought off the forum. I've heard a lot of good stuff about ordering directly, however and wouldn't be afraid to do so. I really can't say enough good things about these dolls
Well it seems im stuck looking at that but i wouldnt say there bad for how inexpensive they are. But i wouldnt compare them to most other dolls, i dont plan to own one.
If you don't actually have one yourself and have no plans to own one, you're hardly qualified to comment on the quality of the dolls or the company itself, are you? From the point of view of someone who has ordered one of these dolls and also has a great deal of experience with a great many dolls and companies, I'd say that for their price the Bobobie dolls are an excellent deal and very good quality - and compare very favourably to other dolls. If you're looking for an inexpensive entry-level doll, I'd say go for it - you certainly won't be disappointed by the quality or service from Bobobie.
I worked with Lucia of the former BJDollMall. (is she still closed?) Working with her was great, and she and Dennis took care of any problems I had. They ordered another headcap for me (which i keep as spare) and a second set of black glass eyes. These are hard to find! I've searched! Their site forums are very friendly, and Bobobie has contests often. Their prizes usually consist of a discount on an order. There are tons of owner photos there in the Gallery! I've got a lot of photos in the ol' signature, so feel free to look if you're curious about the 60cm boys. There's a whole set called 'how stu works'. As well, not many people own a Tiah, so peek through the stream and you'll find her eventually.
Ive seen bobobie in person and yes there good for the price but they do not compare to alot of other doll types. I def wouldnt want to own one ive handled them b4 though.
As Arkady pointed out earlier... you're commenting on a company review because?... If they don't rock your boat fine... there's a lot of dolls I don't like... but I don't express my feelings on a company review just to poke people. This is a thread for posting company reviews... not about your taste in dolls, please do not comment again to this effect, your comments are irrelevent! A mod will probably delete your comments. I DID order from Bobobie. I got a body for my Nanuri head. I must say the resin is buttery soft to the touch and of high quality. I had a great service with Dennis and I would recommend these dolls... I intend to buy one of their smaller dolls too. When I got my doll she was loosely strung Dennis does that on purpose to make sure the doll doesn't break because it's too tightly stung. I have since restrung my doll and she now poses beautifully. As someone who has a few dolls, I can vouch that these dolls are very well made... And they were seamless... I can't say the same of the Volks dolls I have that were WAY MORE expensive and yet retain their seamlines.
I'm with Arkady and acexkeikai on this one. I have quite a few dolls--some from more expensive companies, and I don't have any problems comparing Bobobie to the other dolls I have. I think this is an issue of personal preference more than quality as I too find their silky soft seamless resin one of the things I really like about them and they pose better than some of my pricier dolls. However, it all depends on what the individual wants in a doll.
company review. it says what do u think about them and since ive seen them in person i can comment my opinion. I dont have to think what u do.
Yes, but if you read the rules of this subforum (or at least the clear implications,) it does point out that these review threads are for people who have dealt with the companies and their opinions of the quality of merchandise and transaction, not for people to voice opinions on the dolls without ever having dealt with the company. It might also help if you take the time to employ some basic capitalization and not use webspeak when you are commenting in a professional/critiquer/reviewer capacity, as it would make your statements easier to understand to the wider audience. I am not criticizing you, I am simply making a suggestion. As for my dealings personally with Dennis and Bobobie, it has been lovely everytime. I wish him and his company all the best. Is the doll perfect? Hardly, but I have as many complaints about the dolls I spent 2-4x more on as I do about the Bobobie dolls. ~Anrui
