She is indeed Delirium from Sandman! I'm so glad she's recognizable! The boots came from eBay... I just looked to see if I could find them again, but no luck at the moment.
I really want to make her a fish balloon, that's next!

First full try at painting Casspian's prosthetic arm is finished! Sadly...as soon as he was re-strung...the hand started to chip. However...I'll be touching it up, possibly tonight, and hot glue sueding the joint in hopes of helping prevent further chipping issues. We'll see if it works or not! I'll be adding photos to his progress thread tonight or tomorrow, and I'll be sure to post at least one up in here, too!

LilmADHAttERLu, that wig is great! I didn't think the liv doll wigs would take to dying that vividly, I may have to try it!

 

Well...I sanded Casspian's anthro nose last night (the Bao head), finished at, like, 1am, was pleased with it. Now that I'm far more awake and have daylight...I'm still pleased! It may need a little more evening out...I'm not sure. Will be taking photos here in a little, adding them to the thread, and poking an anthro artist friend for some critique. I'm really happy that he's coming along so well, though! Can't wait to have him COMPLETE so that I can REALLY spam him!

Also...wasn't there someone in here that wanted photos of his human form (Lan head) next to my girls? I'm pretty sure I remember someone asking for photos like that...if I'm not crazy, poke me again, and I'll take some either today, before I touch up his hand, or tomorrow, after said touching up has had 24 hours to let the gloss fully dry before he's re-strung.

And to end this...all the dolly photos posted since I last had time to LOOK through the thread at them and comment are great! Mostly adorable and darling, some interesting and fun, and some just plain sweet!

 

as i said on my thread just be very careful becuase it does run the risk of staining your dolls head i dont think its the hair that stains but the actual plastic cap so i strongly sugest vigours washing and limted wig wearing but i am very happy with it it gives me more options ^.^

Blue Bei has arrived! My sister decided to name her Anelia (yes, with an 'n'), and I went ahead and posted a box-opening, so you can go have a look! Hopefully sometime in the next week or two, she'll come back over and we can up-date her face-up and take a proper photo-shoot ^_^

So I am caving! Instead of saving up for my next 4 MSD dolls and ordering them all at once...I am on the hunt for a WS March! I know that Denverdoll...and I think Junkyspot...have them in stock...I just can't afford her quite yet! IF anyone sees one go up on the secondhand market for an unbelievably good price, let me know! And why am I doing this? Well...because some hooves I bought for another doll are failing miserably...or rather, I'm failing at the complex mods they need to fit him...but with only a little tweeking of what I have already, I can make them work for a 26cm doll! I checked already against the 26cm kids I already own. None of them need hooves. And so...I need a new dolly for them! And said dolly needs to be a she. And WS to better match my hooves. Which leaves me with Ni or March. And while I want a Ni, I don't want mine with hooves. So March it is!

TL;DR version shortened: I am being naughty and saving for a WS March to go with a pair of floating hooves! See any good deals on a WS March that you don't want to snap up yourself, please let me know!

Not sure what all I'll do with her aside from the hooves...but I'm sure I'll figure it out before she gets home! And your girl is SOOOO pretty and cute...she's part of my 'OK, this doll needs to be a March, and not another Bei!' thinking. ^-^

 

what kind of hooves will fit on a 27cm bbb/rs? aren't they much thinner than most yo's?

 

Yeah, they are...but doing things how I am looking to do them, the Daisy Dayes hooves will fit. They'll just be totally anatomically incorrect for a faun of any sort! *laughs* Basically, I'm taking out the top joint part completely, modding the lower leg of the hoof legs to fit into the more round socket of the BBB body ANKLE, and stringing the legs and actual hoofs on in place of the feet. I'll take some photos to show what I meant tomorrow, though I won't start my modding at all on the leg parts of the hooves until I have the doll that they'll be going on...already modded the top joint past the point of no return, and I don't want to mess up again on the last pieces that I'll actually be using!

Only, instead of modding the doll's leg to work with the hoof legs, I'll be modding JUST the top ball joint of the hoof leg to fit the BBB body ankle socket.

 

Any idea how much those resin hooves cost Ayas-Shadow? I can't get into the market place yet but I'm rather interested...

 

From what I've seen both in the marketplace and Ebay, hooves range from about $100 on up. DaisyDay's and Peapod hooves tend to be on the lower price end while Soom Glot are higher.

I've been saving up for my "it" doll, but I'm pining for a BBB Bei, which JS just got in stock . . . *sigh*

 

Well, with shipping, the pair I bought were $62.20. They're hand cast, so there are air bubbles and other faults with them...but I happen to agree with the seller...who I need to go leave feedback for! D'oh!...anyway...the faults really make them look more natural to me, as all the really noticeable ones are in the fur carved areas. I have NO idea when Daisy normally stocks and sells, though, or if she even still does, as I got mine second hand. Anyone interested could always PM her, I suppose, as she's a member of the forum to find out if she's still making them. I'll have to look into the peapod hooves, see what they have available in sizes and things. *goes to leave feedback, THEN go a-hunting*

 

I have a march and to be honest i love her size it's not hard to make her colthes and becuase they fit in liv wigs there are many options open i am pinning for a bei as well so i know how you feel exactl6 i'd like a ni too kinda opwning they come out with a mini verion of there new doll rong

Seeing her in person, I know that my sister wants to add more blue to her face-up, but I'm really feeling like adding pinks and oranges...not too much, but because I have this picture in my head of it being awesomely contrasty. And also because I've never seen a blue doll that wasn't also face-up'd in mostly blue.

On potentially buying a Bei: I have one, and I LOVE her! I also now have a modded Bao, 2 Isabellas, and plan to get a March, a Ni, and another Bao whose face will not be modded aside from face-ups.

For the face-up on the blue Bei...I think the contrasty colors could be really cool...but as she's your sister's doll, you really should find out what she wants and try to do things her way...or else be very sneaky and convert her to your color pallet!

 

pinks and maybe just slightly peachy would look awsome! you want to stay away from the more orangy pinks and such as they will look greyish and murky on the blue skin. after all if you mix blue and orange paint together you get a dull greybrown.

 

lepoardessmoon yah, you're probably right. I know that mixing orange and blue makes 'neutral' which sometimes means brown and sometimes means grey, depending. I don't want her to look murky thou! I was hoping it'd turn more brown, but you're prolly right.

I should totally use peach thou, good idea!

I read through this whole thread...and I'm not even lying! I absolutely fell in love with March when I saw her! I don't have a doll yet and really want to purchase her as my first doll, I think she would be a great first doll. I'm concerned though because there aren't a lot of good wigs that fit her. And her feet or kind of big (but there were some helpful websites posted!) If I do end up getting march, I will definitely post pictures for you guys to see!

 

Shawnee: You should so get a March! If you don't like the easy to get Liv wigs...I'm sure you can find others that fit and are still cute, both in synthetic hair, and in fur/faux fur depending on what you prefer...which reminds me...I'll need to start hunting up a wig for my girl! She'll have a temp one here she can use, as I've an extra brown that will fit...but I want her to have long BLACK hair...and will be making her a black magnetic tail, too...so I'll nee to get some black hair or faux fur or something to make it with...hmmm...I'll have to look into that, too, now! And eyes...depending on what she comes with, too...

 

I really hope I can get one! ^^ Yeah, I'm just not a fan of the liv wigs, heh. ooh, a March will look very interesting in a black wig ^^ I'm hoping to get a blonde almost white wig for her, or may a nice chocolate brown. If i get her i would just die if she came with like..lilac colored eyes. xD I've always imagined March with that color!

All these pretty outfits, wigs and faceups not to mention cool modding projects, my daughter's Isabella is jealous alright, she has no faceup or finished outfits, yet! (and that replacement torso part has still not arrived, drats :/ ) But she now has a bed and bedlinen are slowly in the making

Do most of you sew outfits by hand for dolls this small, or do you make use of an overlock machine? The bed linen are a bit bigger in size, and a friend who has worked as a seamstress enlightened me about overlock/serger stuff, which I for the most part I thought it was some basic but odd sewing machine before..

 

That would be great! Maybe if I see the wig it wont be so bad I dont want my march to be bald haha!

I'm normally a fan of rikka with white/blonde or blue hair but by request i am showing off her black now you can find the wig on this doll so also comes with this hair (except slight longer)​

I haven't been on here on the discussion area in a while. I do love all of the different looks. So Amazing. If anybody is interested I am selling my Bobobie Isabella. She has a few extras that come with her.

 

Those are nice black wigs...I just wish I could afford to buy them. Heh. Silly things going up in price, even a little, after they moved to the next 'wave' in the doll line. And...my little March might just be going gray instead of black! Found an Fwig by Michele Hardy on her site that is a GORGEOUS deep, darker gray! I filled out the contact form to buy it, and am now waiting to hear back from her! If the sale goes through, she'll be gray haired...if now, I'll be back on the hunt for black. ^-^

I REALLY need to make Sonya, Sahsa, and Shikyo matching outfits...Sonya and Sasha are twins, who don't LIKE to match too often, but I think it'd be cute to have matching outfits for them and their big sister!

I lost the auction for the eyes I wanted...it ended EARLY this morning, while I was still sleeping...there were only 2 bids! So the other person got a LOVELY pair of dark blue, pupil-less, sparkly glass eyes for $1.04 and $7 shipping. *laughs* But it's OK...I just spent $10.99 on a pair of even prettier (to me) silvery blue, glittery, pupil-less, glass eyes! I think they'll look better with her gray wig!

Wig and dolly SHOULD be in the mail today or Monday, eyes I'm hoping will be in the mail Monday. Ordered some fake fur to use to make her a tail, which should be here by Wednesday if Distinctive Fabric takes the same amount of time from my placing the order to it getting here as usual. So everything is yay and happiness! Now I just need to figure out if she's getting wings, or a horn, and if so, how I"m going to make them. *laughs*

Anyway...I've got a cake to back for my baby's 1st birthday today, so I'd best be off!

And my little guy has had a good birthday so far...outside of being mad cause he couldn't take his nap on time, so he's napping now...4 hours late. *laughs* I REALLY need to get back to work on dolls at some point this week...so that I'll have Casspian all ready for his face-ups (he has 2 heads...1 human, 1 anthro) when I'm ready to do Myste's blushing...and Ivy's face. I'm going to try and get all my 27cm 'kids' done before the last of my MSD sized ones get home, as once I've got the head and body I'm waiting on there home I'll have several MSDs to face-up, and all of them to body blush and do minor body work on. I want my 'smaller' (though more time consuming!) 27cm projects done before I move back to the larger dolls!
