Congrats! I'm thinking about getting a RS head and making it a hybrid with a body from DZ. I want to get a Winter head.

 

Yay! A Zi body sounds great @Nyxy ! I hope you share your hybrid when you have your doll together. I'd love to see more hybrids with these companies.

 

Oh DZ has some beautiful bodies @JupiterMonarchy that would be cool! The deertaurs are so cute, both the heads and bodies! Hybrids are so fun, I have two I'll be working on this year and even though I do own one hybrid already I got her second hand so this is my first time doing the hybridisation myself!
Thank you @mollym I will definitily show her off when I'm finished, I'm very excited! Though I'm not sure how hybrids with off topic heads work so I'll probably focus more on the body here XD
There will be plenty to show off since I have some extensive mods to do!

 

Oh I can't wait to see the hybrids you work on @Nyxy. I love the centaur bodies a lot, but I believe I need to see a bjd centaur in person first to find out if it is something for me. I love centaurs a lot, but I'm unsure of how I'd feel about it via a doll, but if I were to get one I think I'd definitely get one from RS.

 

I think, I'm in Grade-A trouble with Vala now. This shawl's for my MSD gal Noah, but Vala isn't too keen on letting me have it back to keep working on it. I think, I'm gonna have to make her a shawl too now.

 

That's a great shawl with a nice drape. I can't blame your dolly for wanting one! Looks so comfy!

I'm looking into getting a Ni that will be the older version of my RS Yu. So of course that means I need to shop for clothes and what not before I even order the poor thing. I *think* Effner Little Darling shoes might fit well with enough room for socks but has anyone else tried them?

 

Asking here since this seems to be the major thread - where should discussions about the new resinsoul Miao and Wei go? They're cat-people so they probably don't go here but...in the Pixiu/Pi thread? In their own thread?

I’ve been so busy ‘moving ‘ (my aunt is moving in with us ) and things have been hectic as we only have till the end of the month. I’m hoping to have time to work on my Miao. I’ve named him Klavier and he’s a bit dramatic. Finding a wig that fits will be interesting.

I don't, but I'm planning to get a Wei at some point and make her a tiger girl to go with my future Nian dragon boy!

Right now I'm considering what color resin to get her in, and if I want to ask for a different head on the cat body since my character is supposed to be flirty/sassy and the Wei head sculpt is pretty mopey.

My boy is a Nian/Pi Hybrid with Yao Hooves, lol. He's also been modded by me, to make him look more like a unicorn boy ..., he's no centaur, no dragon doll and no human doll, either.
I'm doomed. XD

FYI Effner sized shoes will NOT fit My guy's currently rocking a mish mash of Yosd shoes & hoodie, Taeyang pants and Pukifee hat. I just love how delicate their features are.

 

He's the right size for this thread. I don't think just faun hooves would disqualify his body from being 'human'. Nobody is making such exceptions for the bigger hooved dolls either.

Hello, everyone!

I still haven’t done anything with my Miao. It’s so sad. I’m having difficulty with wigs and eyes. Any tips on wigs? The cat ears are magnetic, so no ear fitting issues. I’ve tried a 5/6 wig I had and it was a little too big. It is cheap wig, but maybe a Monique, or other name brand would work better? I just don’t want to spend a whole lot trying this and that, I already have enough of those. Ha, ha....

And the eyes...not the fit, but style. I like the cat pupil eyes Miao came with, just not the white sclera. They need to be a solid color with cat pupils. I’ve seen some when looking at eyes, but I would like any tips or brand recommendations.

@kurogane I have a Monique wig on my Bei, and a FMD wig on my Bao. Both fit well, with the cap on the Monique being softer so it stays on a bit better

 

@vicemage thank you! I was hoping Monique would work! I love the quality and softness. Now I can get Noctis a wig!

 

Well, now I have a little black cat on the way, thanks to Denver Doll's in stock sale of the limited Miao. I was a little in awe of the black resin when it came out, especially at the price point, and I hope I like the doll in person! I definitely need to do some Halloween themes.

 

What do those that have gotten their Miao's or Wei's think of the DJ body they come with? It's a bit different than the Zi body. I'd love to see more pics of it if anyone has any to share. (Also happy new year!)

Oops, forgot to answer to this. Sorry. ^^; The past months have been busy. Here's my Unicorn boy, Tayo.
He still needs some work. I have yet to paint his legs and hooves, and make him new clothes; He's currently wearing some of my old Ken doll clothes, lol. XD

Does Wei fit here? I am looking at one and would like more information if possible.

 

I can't compare to the Zi body, since Wei is my first doll, but I quite like it. Really, the kicky knees are the only part I have any real problems with.

She's good at sitting, though!

 

@PennyDoll That is totally fine!! I was eager to see more of Wei in general. I'm sure the kicky knees will mellow out with time! Her wrists seem way more poseable than some of the older bodies too. Also, she's just super cute, I love the styling you chose for yours!!

Hello, I was wondering if any has any more lovely pictures to share of Wei? I see so very little of her and I think I want to buy her but I am on the fence!

 

I'm so excited! I finally found someone that can sew dresses for Katy, my Resinsoul Ni! Etsy user TrillianAndCompany can make dresses that fit Resinsoul YoSDs! They need to be custom ordered, but still!

I'm still on the lookout for someone that can make leggings or pants/skirts that fit, but I think the Resinsoul YoSDs are close enough in measurement to Realfee/Blythe/Obitsu that aside from length I might be on to something!

 

This is a bit of an odd request, but could I get some measurements from someone(s)? I'm looking into replacing the arms on my Sugarble Mirror and I think RS arms might fit (based on my BBB March and the Bei hands I have on her). I suspect Bei arms might fit best but I would love to also have measurements from any of the other RS dolls in this size (Xu, Wei, etc).

I am looking for the following measurements:
- the shoulder ball diameter (or circumference, I can do the math to convert)
- upper arm from top of shoulder to edge of the elbow joint
- lower arm from elbow edge to wrist edge
- full arm length (straight) from top of shoulder to wrist edge

If you want to include hand length and width too that would be... handy. I currently have Bei hands on her original Sugarble arms and they are a reasonable size (slightly larger than her originals). The Sugarble arms are just so badly jointed I want to find something better if I can.

 

Figured I'd bump this thread since I just ordered a custom Wei She's gonna have Bei's ears and orc tusks and I'm super excited!

 

@sluggoislit Oh, wow! That sounds so cool! Congrats on your new Wei. She sounds like a really cool doll. What resin color did you choose?

 

@mollym a yellow-green I asked for, they said they'd do their best to get it close so fingers crossed! I'll definitely share pics here once she arrives, probably in late July.

@sluggoislit I'd love to see some up to date pictures of your girl! She looks amazing! Was it difficult to request the custom colour? did it cost a lot more?

 

It was very easy to ask for the custom color and tusks/special ears! I did it directly via email and they were incredibly understanding, even when I just provided a digital color swatch they double checked that I understood it might not be as accurate to what's on the screen. Honestly they nailed the color! I believe it only cost like $45 more?

I was gifted 2 Wei girls a little while ago, and I've only now gotten a chance to start making them clothes. I got them wigs, now they need clothes, and then shoes! I can finally share a pic of one of my girl's - this is my tan skin Wei, Sunflower. I just made her shirt tonight. Her skirt will come later. I'm going for a Cottage Core/Loli/Mori look for her wardrobe. It's so nice seeing her at least partially dressed! Now she is really coming to life! Once she is dressed, I'll start working on clothes for her BFF.

That shirt looks great! I find tiny sewing so much harder than tiny knitting, which is probably a sign I need to practice more.

The next time you have your girls and a measuring tape handy, could you take some measurements for me? Post #512 has what I am looking for, but basically I want to know about her arms to see if getting some from RS would work for upgrading my naga girl. Sugarble has the worst jointing, I swear.

Sharing here would help out anyone else that might be looking to use RS arms for some hybrids/mods. I'm thinking Wei arms might be a bit too large, Bei might be closer based on the size of the hands (I have Bei hands on her already) but without measurements there's no way to be sure. Besides, she's a naga, if the shoulder fits maybe I would like longer arms on her? I have many things to ponder once I have some numbers.

 

Hi all! I brought home a Wei doll in light tan and wanted to give them a tabby cat colouration. The tail and ears have the most marking and now I find I don't use them on the doll much - typical! I tried a few different wig/eye/outfit combos and have settled on a green/pink cottagecore look. The outfit I made from an old shirt of mine off the Hanon pattern book. It's the embroidered smock and apron in medium but I added 3cm to the bodice length because Wei has long legs. The 3/4 sleeve fits fine except for the hands which make putting it on a bit of a struggle.

 

This thread hasn't gotten much love lately! I wanted to share a pic of my Bei. I named her Edelweiss, the White Lady. She's wearing a dress that I made out of white gauze.

Sooooo I recently got one of the Tiny girl bodies for a hybrid that didn't work out - so I would love to hear about any other hybrids people have made with the 27cm girl body but a different head! It's such a cute body I want to keep it!!!

Specifically, I want her to be in scale with my FID and SartoriaJ MSD dolls, who are more fashion scale and have 5-6" heads. Has anyone ever put a smaller head on this body? How did it look if so? I was trying the Myou 1/8 Dudu head which is 4-5" and was too small - I'm wondering about the slightly bigger 5-6" heads like maybe Lati Yellow? Something like that? Any ideas greatly appreciated!!! Even if it's just to tell me it's not going to work!

I thought I knew who he was gonna be in my crew, but then I saw the msd named I think Yuhan and now I need them to be brothers, but my idea for who Yuan is gonna be won't work with a brother so now I am torn
