I finally got a little RS Bei. I'm still not sure what she will look like in the end, but she is too cute. These are a really fun line, aren't they?

I just switched Sindri's eyes and he looks much more like himself. I also a ordered a bunch of stuff from War Toys- will definitely post when they arrive! I'm having the damndest time with clothes for him so hopefully these will work. He has a YOSD shirt that works, but the pants I ordered were way too short. My Lan can wear Minifee clothes and my Yu can wear Pukifee so I feel i'm spoiled! I can't even find patterns for him!

I've got Bei in Barbie right now, but I'm hoping to either make or find her something else soon. I like the color of her wog enough that I may try to resize it instead if buying something else.

I would like to know if Resinsoul Bei arms are double jointed or not? I LOVE her torso sculpt but I want double jointed arms at least for photos haha

 

Mine definitely isn't.

 

The default Bei body is not double jointed, no, however, I've (very lightly!) sueded her arms and tightened her stringing there, as well as adding stronger stringing to her legs, and she's actually quite a nice poser these days:

I'm not sure if there's a 1/6 DJ girl's body available currently from RS (someone else will need to chime in on that!), but if there is one available, you can also request a body swap to get the double joints you're after.

 

There is a DJ girl, She's in the 28's on the site, it's Zi. You could get a Bei head on a Zi body.

I will also note, that I am planning (but have not yet actually done it) to get a Bei torso with the Zi/Xu limbs and mod the Torso to accept them, I have put the Pixiu limbs on the Bei before and they fit rather nicely, along with having a Bao with the Zi/Xu limbs and He does quite well. If you're ok with chancing having to do some sanding to expand or shrink things It is perfectly possible to get those limbs and that body if you're wanting the slimmer body. Zi is a little pudgy, not bad, but kinda noticeable...

Also I can post the pics of the Bei with the pixiu limbs if need be... Actually since she needs restrung like a mofo I could theoretically put the Xu limbs on her... I'm 99% sure that the Zi and Xu have the same limbs...

I love Bai torso (such a pretty hourglass) something of which the other girls don't sadly have.

 

When I was emailing Sun about my Bao and for some reason I mentioned the Bei I have planned and Sun was like "I don't think that would work" and I'm just sitting over here snickering like... I've got sand paper... If you do decide to go with the DJ limbs and the SJ body, let us know what you do to make it work, I love seeing what people do ^_^

 

LOL in all THEORY it should work.. Probably will be getting Bei as my second BJD/ if I got left over from my first

 

I enjoy doing face ups on these dolls. Although they are single jointed many times, I find that they are still pose able and a nice resin to paint.

 

I got my impulse buy Elfkin Umbra a couple days ago.

I got brave and did some very gentle modding, mock piercing and body art.

The RS mini thread has a photo that turns up from time to time with all the different hands that the mini dolls have, so you can compare size and shape and so forth. Do we have one for the 1/6 dolls? I'm interested in how Bei hands compare to the newer dolls like Zi, but an "all hands" reference like the mini thread has would be awesome.

Wow, I knew the new dolls had larger hands but that's larger than I expected. If I do get RS hands for my Sugarble like I was thinking I will want the Bei hands (I thought so since I have Bei hands on my March and was able to try them on, but I wanted to be sure).

 

So I am in the process of "the long wait".. I ordered one of the deer dolls that they just released. Well my question is what size is Xu or Zi dolls? I owned a Xu a while ago but never changed the default eyes. I want to buy glass brown eyes but I don't want to waist money. Does anyone have ideas?


Oh I have another question.. Does anyone know how much fiber I will need to buy to make a wig for a 5.9inch head.

Ok, sorry for the double post but I've got a request and it's been a month since the last post...

I'm in the process of buying one of the centaurs but I'd like to see some pics of the bust piece of a Zi. So If anyone has the little girl bust peice from the newer DJ bodies I'd really like a front and side view of that chest part, preferably unblushed.

I'm so excited to be getting my Bao soon! I have all my fabrics and supplies to start working on his outfit now, but I'd prefer to have him in front of me first to get a feel about his character.

 

I'm curious if anyone have eyes for their dolls that are either 16mm or 18mm I'm curious how they would look. Specifically for Bao since I'm thinking about getting him different eyes; I love the ones he came with, but I want some that are more glittery.

My Bao is supposed to be an insect based humanoid and it really wasn't working for me and I was going to sell him instead of having to buy more stuff for more dolls... well... oh man.

Popping in to ask whether anyone has tried any clothes for the 'curvy' Barbie that came out a while back on the BBB big-booty body? lol. I find my March has a rather difficult behind to clothe. She has mostly dresses because of it, and a pair or 2 of 'jeans' from OT Ken and Groovy Girls, but I was just looking at some handmade yoga pants for the curvy barbies on eBay and wondering if they'd fit my March.

 

I haven't been able to actually buy any of the other "shapes" of clothes. :/ I hadn't thought about that though. Now I'm gonna have to redouble my efforts to find those clothes... Poo.

 

I really can't be eBaying for doll-related stuff right now because it gets me in trouble, but hopefully once the dolls have been out longer, they'll start making clothing packs to fit them. I guess also people will be able to build up their custom businesses, too - and then maybe the BBB 'kids' can benefit

 

Anyone done anything festive with their dolls? I haven't gotten around to taking photos yet. Been so busy with family stuff since being back from campus.

I am currently trying to order one of these cuties from Denver Doll. I say trying because their system is not recognizing the gift card I have for their store, and I'm currently waiting for a reply.

My first thought was Isabella, because she's so cute, but now that I'm stuck waiting for a reply I'm second guessing and thinking March or Bei. Decisions can be so difficult!

Do all of these gals take a 5/6 wig? Size 14 eye? I know they are pretty slim...I think I've seen some in Barbie clothes?

Feel free to spam your kids so I can be even more indecisive!

 

Well, Denver Doll straightened everything out and my Isabella arrived yesterday!
She's so much more delicate than I expected! I knew she could fit some Barbie clothes, but I still didn't realize just how slight built she was. The only piece of clothing she can share with my other two little girls is a pair of leggins.

I'm pleasantly surprised at how nice her eyes are. I have a Sprite and Ariel that are a few years old, and their default eyes were ugly and cheap looking. She came with really nice looking emerald green eyes. The only disappointment was the fact that the magnet in here head came out immediately. That's an easy fix, though.

Hopefully the weather cooperates enough this weekend to get her a face. Then I'll share some picture of my new gal!

Ugh I have enough money saved up for my next doll to order as a birthday present, but since getting my first doll (Bao) I've come up with five ides for characters. I had planned for two friends for Lan since ordering him and they fit in with his story currently very well, but now I really want to work on a moth themed doll also. Oh the agony of decisions. If I was to get my moth themed doll first I think it'd be Bei from Resinsoul. I'm so conflicted though cause I really want Pixiu and Winter from Resinsoul.

 

I got my second doll from the market, she's a Resinsoul Bei and I'm calling her Eda. The tradition now is everyone at some point has to wear the towel of shame until I have their clothes finished.

If you need some quick clothes until yours are done, that size fits Barbie clothes quite nicely. I have a Bei as well and most of my clothes for her are Barbie sized.

 

Well guess who broke down and put a Bei on layaway...I couldnt pass her up when I saw her on the MP. IM SO WEAK XD. Her names going to be Zodiac or Zodi for short ^^

I bought one of those new Fashionista Barbies yesterday, y'know, the ones where they're doing the different body types (tall, petite, curvy), and I can report that some of the clothes for what I think is the new "regular" body icon (the left-most one on the new packaging) fit.

I got the Edgy 2-pack - the pants were too tight for her feet, but the dress I got fits great. The black top fits as well, but it's a little tricky to get over the fingers.
I also got this little purple dress, which fits well too.

 

There is one that ive seen somewhere for RS 1/6 dolls. Also that edgey pack is adorable!

Been looking at Resinsoul Zi but I am curious if she can wear Barbie or Sparklegirlz clothes like Bobobie Isabella can.

 

She should be able to! My Bei has some Sparklegirlz and dollar store knockoff Barbie clothes to keep her decent until I get her clothes done.

 

I agree with Vicemage, Zi should be able to wear what Isabella does. Their measurements are similar and most of the Sparklegirlz stuff is stretchy. My Sugarble naga has the glamour bust and can wear the tops easily (and some skirts, her snake bits are larger than the BBB hips).

anninku (bei / zi body with faceup by toolala ) wearing a 1960s handmade tammy dress--looks okay except the bust is too big.

 

Just driving by wondering if anyone has tried out the HotDotz shoes on their zi hybrids. I wanna get Vala and Avery new shoes and while I'm not worried about Avery that much, Vala has been a problem. Their current shoes are from vintage dolls but I'd like to get them some new things. Anyone know if it'll work? One major problem I had with previous boots I bought them is that I couldn't stand them up in them. Their feet kept being forced upwards in them.
