Hi there! Recently I decided that I should spread some love around my doll family. So today it was my dear Tsssilvia my dear Minecraft Creeper gijinka in progress, a Bao on the girl's body. She's still blank, but today I hit TRU and she has some new clothes! And my first ever homemade wig! (with a super cheater method ssssh)

So she's just wearing some random stuff I thought looked cute. Obviously red isn't a color for a Creeper but I didn't want to experiment with the fur I want to eventually use for her.

 

What a lovely skintone! I love the Bao sculpt, it's so snarky and it fits beautifully with the unnatural skin colours.

 

I got my march a couple weeks ago! I dont know what she'll be though... I had a little witch in mind but since ive held her, i dont like that idea anymore

For christmas this year I'm buying 2 Bobobie Isabellas for my 4 and 6 year old sisters They are both really into my big SD dolls, so I thought I would treat them to their own little dolls to introduce them to the hobby! Its a good excuse for me to buy myself a doll from The Junky Spot at the same time

 

oh that's awesome!! There's so much to do with an Isabella, I'm sure they'll love theirs, and (I speak from experience) the size is just right for small hands.

 

I always love how different everyone makes the same sculpt look. Can't wait to get home and show my Isabella some love.

 

Congrats on the lovely March, AlaskanPhoenix! March has been on my wishlist for years now but I've never got around to order her but guess what? My girlfriend ordered one for me in lilac skin for my birthday this month! I can't believe it, she will finally be mine, I would actually call her one of my grail dolls. And in lilac skin! I have never seen a picture of Bobobie's newer lilac resin, it seems pretty rare unfortunately. I can't wait to see her, my girlfriend ordered two months ago, does anyone know how long Bobobie normally takes? I guess it depends on the resin colour aswell.
Oh and I know this is a question that probably gets asked a lot but I couldn't find any info, what eye size does March take? I guess 12mm, but I would really like to know if 10mm fits okay aswell. I usually prefer smaller irises. Does anyone have a March they could pop a pair of 10mm eyes in?

 

Vala soon isn't going to be the lone Yo-SD running the show here at the house. After the holidays I'm gonna be actively trying to get my hands on Isabella... More drive has come into this since a character is now forming. A little pilot wannabe who's obsessed with all things machine.

(Plus... I have waaay too many Yo-SD things for just one little gal. Naturally...Instead of getting rid of some of it my thought is: "I need another doll!")

 

My March arrived last week and I finally got around to take pictures of her. She is soooo cute and I am so happy to finally have one of my grail dolls home! I tried 12mm and 10mm eyes in her and I must say I prefer 10mm ones. The only ones I have are these blue ones though but I will order her golden-brownish eyes soon. Her wig is from Crobidoll, it suits her perfectly in my opinion. Anyway, have a picture:

Thank you so much, Arashi Uchiha! Even blank March is my favourite BBB sculpt. I gave her a faceup yesterday and am now only waiting for her golden eyes to complete her look. I think she looks really lovely, those tiny BBB sculpts are so underrated! I support your Isabella wish, Arashi Uchiha, her character sounds also really adorable.

I am honestly not much for march and I had very little hope for a purple doll with realistically colored red hair.

That said I am far too sick to try and express how pretty she is and how good a job you've done with her. I look forward to seeing her with the eyes you've gotten for her. (god bless spell check T_T)

Edit: I just need to go back to bed seriously, I think this might have sounded mean... it wasn't supposed to... I'm trying to say that you took things I don't like together and made them work really really well and I love it... Does that sound nicer? I hope it does... I'm going to craw back in bed now...

 

Hahaha don't worry about it, it didn't sound mean, on the contrary! Thank you very much for the compliment, that really made my day! I'm not a fan of red hair on dolls either but somehow it was the first thing that popped into my head when I saw her blank. I can't wait to receive her eyes, hopefully those will finish the look so to speak. The blue ones are kinda growing on me but blue eyes+purple skin+red hair somehow irks me.

 

^o^ Yay! You're not alone in really wanting to see her other eyes in her, I love seeing sculpts I don't really like for me turn out beautifully in someone else's hands... it's neat.

 

I just ordered a RS Yu, and am dying to see others. She's going to be white skinned, with a purple mohair wig and violet eyes.

AgentofChaos~ Actually you'll want this thread to get pics of Yu being that she's a tiny not a 1/6th, if you use the fraction she's actually a 1/12th size ^o^ and cute to boot ^_^

 

Hey guys! Whee, lots of familiar faces from the other BBB/RS threads!

SapphireStargazer spoiled me to pieces and gifted me her light tan RS Ni for my birthday/Christmas. With Sapphire she was Cassie, but mom and I have renamed her Katie, and she's Dylan's (my MNF Seorin boy) little sister!

I'm really excited, this is my first tiny and is gonna be an awesome way to share the hobby with my mom! My mom prefers the little ones, so Katie may end up being mostly hers xDD

I'm also pretty happy to learn that this body will fit Barbie clothing, cause I have ton of those floating around from when I was a kid xD I'm curious to know where you guys shop for yours, though!

Agentofchaos~ No problem. I'm really bad at pulling up multiple size threads and then getting confused which one I'm looking at >.>

 

While I know that these little ones fit Liv wigs, due to my allergies I gotta be careful where I buy these things from, the one Vala uses I've had since I was fourteen (a testament as you will to how long I was willing to wait to get a Yo-SD, that wig is older then the doll is) but I would like to know what the head size is actually, just in case I can't find a Liv wig I like...Plus...Those ebay prices get jacked up.

(Plus...OAe;;; Some of these places just list "No smoking" but doesn't list no pets)

 

They fit 5-6 wigs. Pixiu and the newer ones lean to the 6 size and bei/bao/ni lean slightly to the 5 side.

 

Thanks, then 5-6 is what I'll also look for... I'm getting an Isabella soon, so I'm hoping to find the right wig for her.

 

Zomboid, I think you've been the most successful at photographing the lavendar skin I've ever seen! Well done! She's super cute!

And I wound up finding a Liv wig I really liked her for, a blue/blonde wig, so she'll be sporting the Liv look too... Now to make her some clothes...

 

Thank you so much purplevix! It is really difficult to capture the lilac tone in pictures, but I think the essential thing is daylight. She still looks a little darker in real life but the colour in the photograph is pretty much true to life otherwise. Can't wait to see your new Isabella Arashi Uchiha, she was always on my Bobobie list to get,too. I think I'm in love now with BBB tinies, Ni will be my next purchase probably. I'm very tempted to get all the fantasy colours, maybe a blue Ni and a red Bao?
Oh and I can confirm Crobi wigs in size 5-6 fit the March head perfectly. 6-7 is much too big.

 

Isabella was the first Yo-SD I ever laid eyes on, at that so it's like meeting a doll that just kept slipping from my hands be it whatever reason. She's all mine now, and I can't wait. Junkyspot mailed her out last night. I think a Blue Ni and a Red Bao would look adorable. I think SapphireStargazer has either a red Bao or a Xu, I know she has a red boy in this thread or the last one somewhere.

 

I'll duck in to confirm that FMD's "SS" size also fits nicely; it's what my Bao, Instar, wears. I also have a Monique Gold in 5/6 for my Bei, Cetewind, that fits her very nicely as well!

Oh my this thread went quiet. Congrats on your lovely Isabella, Arashi Uchiha! I also really need to restring my March with better string and S-hooks but she poses pretty well already with her default stringing and some hot glue sueding, so I was lazy so far. Her golden-ish eyes came in and they are not as striking as I hoped but they are her eyes for now. I'm thinking about getting her a mohair wig without bangs because I just can't stand wigs with bangs standing up from the forehead. Anyway, here is my updated March:

Zomboid~ Most of the BBB threads have bouts of activity with slow periods in between. :/ Love those eyes hardcore. They look soooo nice on her!

 

Zomboid! Your March is so beautiful! Here is my March, Yukio. She is so difficult & stubborn! She has been through SO MANY wigs, eyes, & outfits... Although, I think she may actually be happy with how she looks now?

 

Thank you guys for your nice comments! Yes, the March sculpt (or maybe the tiny BBB sculpts in general?) are somewhat difficult to figure out, knowyerrights, I have tried a lot of eyes and wigs on my March aswell and I'm still not 100% satisfied. I think the "problem" is her very thick eyewells, which make eye positioning very difficult. I will order an eye beveller in 10mm, hopefully this will make positioning 10mm eyes in her head more easy. I really think 10mm is the perfect eye size for little March, anything bigger will look herpy-derp in my opinion. Also, for wigs I learned that she needs a wig with no bangs or bangs that lie really flat on her forehead (mohair?), as to avoid the fake wig look. I am also lost with clothes, she fits into some selfmade Barbie clothes but that's not really the look I want to go with her. She also can wear some Azone clothes, so maybe that's a good source for well made clothing.
That said, your March looks really cute, knowyerrights, is that a Jpop wig? It looks really natural and her faceup looks really good from what I can tell from the picture.

 

Funnily enough I've only found one article of clothing that fits my Isabella that's from Barbie:



Her pants. Her top I made from a sock.

 

Another clothing question to all of you seasoned BBB owners: Do you know if Blythe/Pullip clothes would fit the single-jointed March body? I compared measurements and it would seem like Blythe has a much smaller waist than March but then again so do the Azone Pure Neemo dolls and I have some Azone clothing that fits my March. It is really difficult finding Barbie measurements online for some reason (..lol?) but I think I remember Barbie also having a much smaller waist than March and the Barbie clothes I have fit my March aswell. This is really mysterious to me, maybe the clothing companies make their clothes extra stretchy/bigger in the waist? If that is so, maybe our girls and boys could also fit into Blythe clothing, no? There are a lot of really cute clothes for Blythe on Etsy, has anyone ever tried those? If not, maybe I'll get a cheapish dress and try myself.
Oh and extra info: I ordered two "Fashionette" outfits made for Barbie sized dolls from Amazon and they fit really well! They are also a little more sophisticated looking than most Barbie clothes and are really cute, so check them out! I think it is a European company. Pictures will follow soon!

 

Zomboid~ Depends on the piece. I have a friend who does Pulip/Blythe Stuff and her Pulip stuff works just fine, they are tight in the middle but anything loose-ish or with some stretch in the waist should be fine. As for Barbie stuff, newer barbies are not as narrow in the waist as classic barbies. I'd never heard about Fashionette before, it seems to be a separate company doing doll clothes for several standardized dolls Mattel makes... So that's good info.

Thank you for your input, Lynn Nexus. I think I will try a Pullip dress soon, something not that expensive at first. There sure are a lot of adorable clothes out there for her and Blythe, it's hard not to buy a ton lol. But I am determined to sew for my March aswell, I have so much fabric at home, I could open a fabric store.

 

What kind and size of eye do you recommend for a ResinSoul Ni? I know my Mei has a lot of issues with gapping even with the recommended eye size, and I don't want my incoming Ni to have the same problem. I don't want to have to guess and buy random eyes like I did with Mei.

 

Aela, I have 12mm in my Bei, which is the elf version of Ni. Unfortunately, since she's still a WIP, this is the best picture I have showing her in these eyes:

I haven't had any gapping issues with them; they're lower dome acrylics (Ersa Flora) and fit nicely.

it has been a while since I've been around here! ^^ I have been back in the market for dolls since I'm helping a friend buy her first, and of course I'm hoping she goes with RS or BBB. Aela, I have 10mm eyes in my Bei, and they seem to be working out pretty well. Her wig, on the other hand, could use a little more TLC...


I realize this is probably old news by now, but I wanted to share.

 

O.O Fig Arrived today! No email notice that he was being shipped... Just BOOM! notice on my door with CN at the end of the tracking number... Now to start working on the wig! ^o^ and eyes!
