Just catching up, the change in thread caught me unawares!

@shuga-shug, I am such a fan of your Tegan. I go awwww every single time I see her.

@Chaypeta, I've used MSC UV-cut on Angelsdoll dark tan, and I don't think it lightened it much/at all. I used MUCH less than usual, though - one coat first, one over pastels, and one over final layer, rather than building up layers, because I was worried. Now, testors I've used on white skin (DIM, which is the same paper-white as Bobobie), and it yellowed *horribly.* and went sticky and caught dust.

@Teska, thank you so much for the pictures of Jun on the RS body. Much too large for me, I think... it might be better on the BBB body. Such a lovely sculpt, though! One day I might just have to get a boy after all.

@dolls&tea - yes please, I'd love to see more Jun pics!

@karla-chan, your An looks gorgeous on the girl body. Very tempting. Is it on the RS or the BBB body? It doesn't look nearly as outsize on it as the Jun head!

@KittyOrochimaru, cute pic!

@lumaskelbane, please do go ahead and create a BBB/RS large size thread in the appropriate subforum - I'd love you for it! I don't think there's anything for the 60cm girls. I'd make it myself if I had one in the right size.

Wow part 3, we do really talk a lot don't we! Most likely a good thing i tend to think this is very helpful.

It is on a RS body because personally i think they look nicer. Plus since my first doll is a Mei then i figured the same body would be better because then clothes fit both of them. Especially since character wise Scops (An) does actually "borrow" Drisimi's (Mei) clothes. Plus it was cheaper that way.

I do have a nude picture of Scops but the back view, because it was part of a rant and i wanted to show both the front and the back of the RS doll.



If you want any more pictures let me know. I am trying to think if i have any more useful ones. I only have 2 of her nude any way because i only did it for this shoot. But i do take tones of pictures of both my girls.

So I got my Fei head and have failed to post a box opening. I should probably get on that.

And I wanted to ask-- Does anyone have a good reference for faceup/body blushing commissions? I really like this girl: http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?t=300915 But before I dive in, I want to make sure I'm not overlooking any other options... She lives in Australia for goodness sakes. That's awfully far away for my girl to be.

 

Well, my favorite doll was done by Meee, and there are a lot of other people in the commission threads, they have examples of their work n all. I don't think you have to go all the way to Australia, I'm sure there is someone else who you would like?? (although Andreja does have a lovely portfolio )

Ooh so pretty, i do admit that head is tempting me too, the only problem it would cost me a lot since my Mei has the purple skin. So i would pay for the face up, which for some reason cost more on just the head? (Does any one know why?) and to have the head dyed purple to match my Mei.

Just out of curiosity you said she even has the same eyes as you Mei? What did you mean by that?

 

My Mei doll came with these pretty smoky blue eyes and Fei came with the same. They are barely visible as her eyes are very nearly shut, but it was a nice surprise to see that they were the exact same colour.

 

I see that is cool, how much can you see the eyes though?

The few face-up artists that I know and like are all based in Australia, but that's probably just me looking close to home. The little black ribbon i added. But as part of one out fit for about £30 i got the pants on Drisimi, the shirt and the hat and skirt on Scops. The socks and shirt of Scops where also bought from that store as a different buy.

Karla: The girls are gorgeous as ever! You photos are as amazing as ever! And I MIGHT have an An on layaway as of today...I'm waiting to hear back from the girl here who's selling him...I so hope I do! *laughs* I'm silly. ^-^ I shouldn't be saying anything until it's a definite...but eh. Worst that happens she says no and I'm back to saving instead. Hubby already said 'yes' to the additional funds to be able to have him paid for if I buy from seller here within the next 3-4 weeks...and if this falls through...I'll likely still get that money anyway, and then be only a little short of buying one new instead. Congrats on An, well hopefully it should all come though and be OK I can see why you would be excited and tell people now though. And that is a good way to look at it as well, if you don't you are part way saved up for your own An.

I am happy you like my girls though and my photo's. Some of the photo's i actually took with my mobile i have been trying to decide which is better.

Well we do have a discussion board on what fits our dolls and i added the seller to the list and gave other examples of my girl(s) in some of the other clothes they sell too.

These do look a little baggy, but they are baggy on the official photo's and i like it that way, i think it looks more school girl that way. The skirts fit really nicely though.

Yeah, my hubby is awesome. He's so tolerant, and supportive even though he has next to NO interest at all. *laughs* At least he thinks the twins are cute. And he likes my MSD girls OK...my Elfkin he likes to see what I'm doing to him and the progress of his mods (adding horns and hooves...maybe wings and a tail)...he's happy I have my Bei incoming, and is being awesome in helping me get an An so that I can have my character Ken back in the house in his new and improved dolly form. ^-^

Well, we got some eyes in from Doll Eyes, a memeber here. They turned out really cute. Size 14, glass, a lavander color. Here is my daughter's cute little sprite showing off her new eyes

Turns out I must have deleted the one with the 18 and the 16 in cassie, when we get the 12's that they didn't send >.> I'll open cassie back up and take the pictures again... since I'll be taking pictures of Xuza with 12's 14's and 16's in her at that time. My sister didn't want to peal her eyes out of her at the moment so we didn't do the Mei head with the sizes. I thought this could be a nice reference. I really feel that the 14's are too small for the head, infact if I could get a 16 iris on an 18, I'd do it. The 18 really fills up the eye socket, but then the iris really fills the opening... if that makes any sense. With the 16's the iris looks much better but the eye doesn't fill the well as well. 14's you practically have to get pink putty so that it will look right when it inevitably shows in the corners of the eye.

We ordered (acrylic inexpensive) eyes in all sizes from 8 to 16, so when we peal the Mei open again and when we inevitably get my sisters Lan (which is her next doll fyi... >.> ) we'll take these same sort of pictures to show the eye sizes that will fit in the heads. I figure that it would be nice to have neatly labled pictures like these for when someone asked about eye sizes...

 

OK, so i am still new with BJD's and have a huge fear of ordering on line with out looking in person on what i buy. i have an Isabella BBB right now, i was planing on getting a Kid Delf Bory from luts, but im so impatient, i now plan on geting Song from BBB or Resin Soul. i had had planed on getting him a long time ago, but did not because of his hands, and also not knowing what wig sizes and cloths, shoes Ect.., but mostly of his Hands, I hate his hands! Dose any one know were there are hands i could get that goes with that body?

 

Get him in white skin, and you have the option of MiniFee hands used for their beautiful-line bodies, as their hands fit well and the white skins are fantastic matches.

Minifees, or MNFs, are the MSD-scaled dolls sold by Fairyland. It's a completely different shop from ResinSoul and Bobobie that happens to be a near perfect resin match for white skin dolls.

MNF are pretty well known for their incredible posability and detail in their newer Active-Line bodies, but their more average Beautiful-line bodies have a set of very nice hand options compatible with ResinSoul bodies. The four hands sold with S-hooks in the wrist are the one's you can use.

 

And sometimes they're available in stock at Denver Doll Emporium, which is here in the US and you could also order your Song through them if it makes you more comfortable to deal with a US company?

Either way, make sure to order the hook hands, not the magnetic hands

Hi^_^ I'm new to BBB/RS. I just received my RS Fei and am surprised by the quality after hearing so many people call them "cheap dolls".

The white skin is really white though. Like alabaster.

 

Unfortunately, as of a year ago, it seems their normal skin got very pink. So if your doll is from before, what? February of 2009? It may match very well. I was hoping it was only the one batch of resin that was pink, but my body is less than a couple of months old now, and very pink. I got it to put my minifee head on it. It's not a good match But I love her anywat

I'm seriously thinking of getting a white skin doll now, though I never thought I would. But a ghost like doll in white flowing dress sounds kinda fun, LOL

 

Anime's would have you believe that! As far as i know i think they do, i think the one we know is for younger students though. But i thought it was plan cute so just had to get them! I do really like the clothes from there. I just wish she did lots more!

I have a Bobobie Sprite with s-hook MNF hands. There is a small difference between them, but not that noticable. I'm happy with it. Just wish I knew when the Sprite was bought... *is second owner*

 

Finally found a better pic of my friends jun's mods :3! i think he looks really different to the normal ones~

 

I have a bobobie body with mnf hands in NS skin, but I got the body second hand and I have no clue how old it may be. But as said before, the newer bobobies are way more pink for some reason, so will match less.
Also, white doesn't match that great either. Fairyland resin is way more yellow to begin with, while resinsoul and bobobie are paper white. But the white resin turns yellow quite fast, so it could be a good match after owning it for a few months

 

The only normal skin option I know of is Asleep Eidolon, which you have to purchase through MintOnCard to get anything in the US, and I don't know if AE sells their male body hands yet, since their male body was just overhauled. (They only just recently started selling girl MSD hands.)

That Jun mod is pretty sweet.

 

The yellowing yellows to a fairly pleasant creamy white, Cassie has yellowed and she is a pleasant white... but not the alabaster that I saw on a brand new Mei at a doll meet.

Yeah, KittyOrochimaru, that is certainly a fascinating mod. He looks so different from a regular Jun and I really like that unusual blushing pattern.

I just recently added the s-hook style minifee hands to my whiteskin sprite and they were a perfect match. They were very paper white right out of the bag.

 

Karla-chan, how similar are Mei and An's sculpts in the resin?
