    2. hello,
I currently have a bobobie 43m boy and it's very hard to find any clothes for him:(so Could someone give some sites or places to find some?
      Thanks
      :aheartbea

    3. I know from seeing my cousin's Bobobie An that the Dollmore clothes will fit somewhat but are pretty baggy. Good luck!

    4. I find with Dollmore pants it's good to put underwear under them for a better fit.

    5. Basically the mods want to keep this a discussion about Bobobie not a photo thread. So try to keep photos down to one unless it is demonstration of body comparisons or good reference information photos.

If you do a group of photos ..post one here and the rest on new photo thread.

      http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?p=4943257#post4943257

If you want to do a photo story best to post one here and rest in galleries but link back here.

Bobobie discussion is a very busy thread. And we are trying to reduce server load and make discussion threads easy to look through.

I will be slowly doing this at other Mini size doll threads. If people see someone new spamming with photos in discussion please hit report button.

      Thanks!
      Gina

    6. Hi there! I'm contemplating putting all my pennies towards a BBB Espree, she looks to be very pretty and would suite the role I have in mind for her ^_^

I'm a little nervous about Bobobie dolls though,as I've never actually met one.. So I have a few questions if you'd be gracious enough to answer them for me ^_^

What's the quality of the resin like?
      How's the posing ability?
Are they really as beautiful as in the pictures? :D
oh, I feel a little odd asking this... why are they so inexpensive?

thanks so much for all your help!

    7. Jinnyaih- it is probably like photographing shiny silk or satin. I would try the different settings on your camera in different lights to see what works. I have to do that sometimes.

Shasta- I have Bobobie dolls and just ordered my first Resinsoul doll. I think the resin is nice and smooth- there are no parting lines, either. The company is small, and that is why they do not charge as much as other companies, from what I hear. I restrung, hot glue sueded and added "s-hooks" to all my Bobobie dolls, and they pose well. I had a little March girl for a while who didn't need any of that, but the SD and MSD sized girls did. They tend to be floppy and the string is not that great. It doesn't take long to do all that. They are lovely dolls- owner pics are better than the ones on the site, for sure.

    8. I'm not quite sure how to answer the quality of resin question. I own an Espree and must say she is very lovely. Poseability is kind of a pain (though I am comparing it to a puki and LF) but I have heard there are ways to fix it. I am planning on fixing her so I think that is not a big problem. Honestly they are better than they are in pictures, at least if you are talking about the company photos. I'll let someone with more experience than I tackle the last question.

Thank goodness my husband doesn't do that or he wouldn't make it to our anniversary, lol.

Thanks, I'm gonna have to play around with things and see what I come up.

    9. Does anyone know if clothes for 16 inch fashion dolls will fit the slimmer Resinsoul bodies? I have patterns for Ellowyne and Goodreau vinyl girls that look like they may fit.

    10. I want to ask, what clothing do they fit? Because I have a large chested one, and now of my msd Dollmore clothes look nice on her. (It fits, but just doesn't look right)

    11. I also would like to ask about clothing!
Would a large chested Sprite body be able to fit most companies MSD clothes?
      Would a small chested one?
What clothing would be the BEST for these dolls?
Someone should make a list ;)

    12. Finally got jack something more decent than undies and a tube top xD

She still needs some shorts or a skirt or something, and I'm hoping I can get her faceup done soon, and since I have no more school I can start on her legs soon yay. Need a saw to saw her lower legs in half though, and I dont have one D:

    13. Got another question for y'all!
Just pondering on the use of Testors Dullcote on Bobobie dolls, seein' if it works good with the resin, 'cause I hear that certain resins DO NOT react well with Testors Dullcote.

      A million thanks,
      ~Sunny

    14. Sunny- test it on the head cap. I think that is the best way to find out. I have only used MSC. You can buy it at Junkyspot if you are in the US. I trust it more and that seems to be the standard. I have used it on Bobobies with consistent good results.

As for the clothes- I used to have Tony and Sprite with the mature bust. I only dressed them in clothes I made using Gracefaerie patterns. In fact, I have recently bought clothes for my large dolls for the very first time- found some good deals in the marketplace. Otherwise I sew their stuff. I have always had good fit from Gracefaerie patterns. I have several MHD patterns, which did not fit my bjds from Bobobie. I love Magalie's patterns for other dolls, though, so no offense to her work at all.
I have seen some of the Resinsoul girls in Friends 2B Made clothes- there are threads for that line if you do a search. RS bodies are significantly smaller than BBB ones, though. That is why I suspect some of the 16 inch fashion dolls like Ellowyne, Antoinette, and maybe even Tyler might fit these petite ladies.

    15. I have Audrey (Mei) in Tonner clothes which fit. She is *very* slim, I had to take in a skirt I bought for her which had been made for a Narae. But I bought a bunch of Tonner stuff off ebay and it all fits.

    16. I have an Espree and to answer your questions, the resin is fine, smooth and seamless. Espree's body is double jointed, unlike most other Bobobie dolls, so she poses relatively well. My Espree is off today for a restringing probably before selling her, but that's only because I prefer tinies. They are as beautiful as the faceup makes them. Mine came without a faceup and I have done a simple faceup but if I keep her she will be off for a professional faceup, which is really worth the money imo. If you look at my avatar girl, she is a Mei, and is as stunningly beautiful as any more expensive bjd. What you lose on her is posing, her joints are very simple compared to the more pricey bjds. But Espree, with her double joints, is better. Hope that helps!!

    17. My Sabine is a Goodreau and Minu (a Mei) shares her clothes relitively well. She's still a little skinnier in some places, but I'm intensely picky about perfect fits :sweat
...Shoes, socks and tights on the other hand, do not. Sabine's Goodreau feet are quite tiny, and Minu's are, well, huge in comparison, so they can't share stockings

Oh, can anyone tell me what size eyes Mei takes? I remember there was a discussion in the last thread, but I can't remember the conculsion, and I also can't find it :(, Minu's eyes are a pretty browen, but I'd rather yellow.

    18. She can take both 14 and 16mm. It all depends on personal preference really. Mine has 16 mm because I wanted the iris to fill the socket.

    19. Ah, thanks so much Snow!

    20. Yes, you can. :) I did all of Gabriel's faceup and blushing with Testors (topcoated with the last of my MSC UVCut), as well as doing his first faceup entirely with Testors, and I've had no problems (plus the first one came right off when I was ready for it to come off, and held on just fine until then).

I don't have a mature female BBB body, but with my other mature mini, I've found that most F2BM clothes do actually fit her. There's a few that won't, though, because they're not stretchy enough or too closely fit to the squishy plush dolls they're made for. For the most part, though, I had very good luck with almost everything I tried on her in the store actually fitting, so you'd probably have good luck if you can find the clothes.

Actually, the Bobobie minis are all double-jointed. :) (I don't know about the tinies, I ended up with RS Bei instead of BBB March like I originally planed.) As I understand, the RS bodies are single-jointed, but I know for a fact my boy is double-jointed, and the pictures I've seen of the other two bodies (immature and mature female) have the same type of construction he has.

    21. I have a ResinSoul girl, and she has a lot of F2BM clothes. They look great and fit fine once I take them in a bit. What I've done is take off the velcro fasteners (velcro+tinybear wig=bad) and replaced them with snaps, so I was able to snug them up that way. On the larger Bobobie body, you might not even have to do that much.

    22. Thanks for the help with Testors Dullcote and the clothing, really appreciate it! <3

    23. ^^ Hello! I've got a Bobobie Sprite...one problem I found with my Aurora is that she was very limp...like a noodle! I had to tighten her and suede her joints so she could stand up without falling. The wig she has on is super pretty, and the company's name is Monique Gold. It's a 6-7, and the style is Paris. The color is Golden Auburn & Golden STW (? streaks?) It looks like this...

    24. That's golden auburn/golden strawberry. I have that same color wig on my Mei, but in the Ginger style. It's what she's wearing in my icon. I love the color.

    25. I'm sure that this has been mentioned a million times or at least chatted about quite a bit... but... is there a company that sells Bobobie or Resin Soul dolls such as Mei, Ju etc. that are actually strung properly? It seems as though everyone is making the comment that their doll has to be restrung before it is near posable.

    26. Also, Theluckychemist & Sesana, is there a website where one could purchase the monique brand wigs? My little sister has one on her Mei and it is fabulous. I wouldn't minf getting one for my girl once I get her.

    27. Mortifox- DDE sells the Monique wigs, and there are many other shops that do too. If you go to the links section you can probably find a bunch of places.

As for the stringing- I think the company (BBB/RS) strings them and sends them to the different shops. The reason they string them floppy is for the dolls' safety during shipping. You can simply tighten them by pulling them up in the head cap and then knotting them again. I think the string is just not heavy enough usually, so replacing it might be the next simplest thing, and if you already have the doll apart, you might as well try the sueding and S hooks while you are at it. The hot glue suede provides some friction in the joint to make it hold a pose.

    28. Mortifox, they're just sold loosely-strung because the early shipments had them arriving with chipped/broken joints when they were properly or tightly strung. Really all you have to do is pull on the strings and it'll tighten up.

I'm not sure on the bigger ResinSoul dolls, but the elastic thickness on my Bobobie was just fine, too. He still has the original string for his arms, and would have it for his legs if it hadn't snapped back in when I was tightening it the first time. (With no restring tools I couldn't draw it back through so I had to get a new piece.) He's over a year old now and the arm elastic is just fine, and the same thickness as the elastic in my AoDs (and as some of the random string that came with my Soulkid body, too).

    29. I buy my Monique wigs from Facets by Marcia
      http://www.facetsbymarcia.com/

    30. I think my MSD kids were OK as far as the elastic thickness, but the SD size (BBB not Resinsoul) needed a thicker string. I still have the original strings in mine because after the hot glue sueding and restringing with S hooks I was satisfied with my girls. I'll replace their strings when it is time to do so naturally. I still need to tighten the legs on my dark Pandora. She has a few "issues" I still need to work out, but I have worked on four SD Bobobies and they all had to have work on them to sit up by themselves and pose. I don't mind it, though. I go back for more!

Whether someone wants to replace the string with heavier gauge or go for the hot glue, S hooks, and tightening, they will most likely have to take the doll apart, either way. When I did all of this to my Tony (MSD size) it made him an awesome poser, and he had stood right out of the box!

    31. I just put my girls down on the arm of the chair. Minu suffers fromt he Bobobie flop, seeing I just haven't been able to find white 3mm round elastic yet (I've found it in just about every other colour :sigh). Her arms are all pulled up and she tends to keep over to one side.
So she flopped over... and ended up like this:

No positioning, it was a complete fluke!
Looks like she's setting in really well :aheartbea

    32. Ah, thank you pumibel, vicemage. I pretty much figured it was for dolly safety or something to that regard.

And thank you Jinnyaih for the link :)

    33. Aww she loves her! Gotta love accidents XD

    34. I got my Ju, and she is lovable! She is a little kicky, but the head stays straight and she sits well. I am not really in a hurry to do any work on her because I think she is precious the way she is. The eyes she came with are 14 mm, and I like the way they look. They are those deep brown Bobobie eyes. I usually switch out BBB eyes, but their brown is really nice. One of my Pandoras came with them, too. I might try a pair of gray-violet 16 mm I have coming in this week. I think they would look good with the white skin and silver hair (and her current outfit!).

    35. Pumibel: you bought that dress from someone here right? I feel bad I didn't buy it now, it looks way too awesome on her xD

Sending Jack off for a faceup (FINALLY OMG) tomorrow.
I made a drawing of what I wanted and this is what I got back as a mockup:
It looks silly like that but I know it will be awesome xD

    36. Yes, Snow I did buy it in the marketplace! It was supposed to be for a Morimoth I have coming, but Eglantine has taken it and she looks perfect in it.

I like the concept sketch for Jack. You can't tell she is the same doll as mine- she is a Ju, right? Or is she a Mei?

    37. How adorable are they? :)

      Your welcome :)

Wow, I agree their brown is really nice.

    38. Haha no, she's a Mei actually :)
I have two Ju's, but they already have faceups. Mei was my 3rd doll out of 5 but last to get a faceup xD poor girl.
And I'm jaleous of your dress :aninja:

    39. The concept for the new faceup looks great! I can't wait to see Jack when it is finished! You have such amazing dolls.

    40. Thaaaaaanks :D
I wanted to send her out today but I have had no sleep at all... was awake all night... so I figured going out the door today wasnt the best plan >__< I have a photoshoot with someone tomorrow but maybe I can drop her off at the postoffice after that.

    41. Ooh, I can't imagine sending one of my doll's heads away like that. I would be anxious the whole time *_*

    42. Haha I know! I am anxious every time, but I'm only letting the faceups get done within the country. Less chance of getting lost then.
I've had both my Ju's done at the same time by the same person and it was my first time even removing the heads so I was scared as hell xD They ended up well tho ;D
And the girl that will do Jack's faceup is the same who did Amber's, so I know I can trust her :)

    43. Well, that helps I suppose. But either way... ick, I would have heart palpatations XD Your dollies are amazing though, so I understand how worth it it is.

    44. heehee thanks :D
Chances of going something wrong arent that big tho luckily.
Anyhoo, I want to be able to do faceups myself, but I don;t have a steady enough hand :doh

    45. Well, I finally started work on Shikyo's (my BBB light tan Espree) face-up yesterday, and hope to finish it today! It's HARD doing a face-up with a 2 1/2 year old, a 2 week old, and 2 new kittens in the house! They all need attention and supervision (especially when together!) and while I can haveo ther people watch the older boy, and the kitties...my new little one kinda needs mommy (me) when he's hungry...and that's whenever he's awake!

So yeah...Yllora (my Mei) is going well, just needing more clothes and things until I work up the courage to body-blush her, and now Shikyo (Espree) is finally getting done! I'll be sure to share a photo (and link to more for any who want, lol) once she has a face and eyes and wig (still need to make eyes and wig) for everyone to see.

    46. Could someone please post a picture of all the available skin tones for Bobobie Ju... I would like to see all of the colors side by side so that I can decide what will be most appropriate for my earth/forrest elemental spirit.

Grr, everyday, I think I know what I want and then something else comes up and I don't know what I want anymore.

    47. http://www.resinsoul.com/05-chanpin/p-001-1.asp?id=341 this shows you all the colours resinsoul / bobobie use on thier dolls it may vary slightly from batch to batch though if you have a picture of the colour you have in mind they may be able to replicate it but these are the "standard" colours there is also a red availible as well

    48. There's a color chart on the resinsoul site.

Anyhoo, I'm redoing Jack's lower legs at the moment. The legs are sculpted. I filed some parts of the original legs en schulpted over them.
I tried to make her hooves aswell, but I need to cut her original feet in half. I don't have a saw here so I tried to file it in half and failed after an hour of trying.
Going to steal a saw from my parents tomorrow :doh
      Pictures when finished :)

    49. Dont forget the gray! Go to the box opening threads- there is a gray Dan there. It is a bluish gray, and it is fabulous! Ju would look great in that. There is also red- there is a box opening thread for a red Dai, too. Both of these colors are just great.

    50. Thanks so much Snow and thank you Pumibel for the other suggestions...

But... besides possibly going with the tan... I'm pretty sure that my girl is going to end up normal skin. Simply because I can always blush and mess with the normal skin, whereas if I order her in green etc... that is her color point blank...

It so sad... I feel like I'm being dolly racist... all of my dollies are white :XD:

    51. I'm waiting for a tan Ju to come in the mail. I can hardly wait! Even if she doesn't work out for the character I have in mind, she is still a fab looking girl. When she gets here, I'll have to do some resin comparisons between her and my tan DZ and tan/sunlight skin Volks.

I'll also see about comparing her in size to my DOC mature/slim mini body. I have seen a Mei wearing some of those plushie clothing from Hallmark and other stores.. They're really tight on my DOC, but the Mei looked like she was swimming in them. :nowords:

    52. And there's the dark tan, which apparently can still be had as a special request... ^_^ (I sure hope so, anyway, eventually I WILL buy my dark tan Ju!)

    53. bobobies come loosly strung, but if you tighten that the pose great, even better if you suede and wire

    54. ellowyne patterns fit really well for the 43cm dolls, even on the mature bobie body

    55. Mortifox--I would go with the tan personally...maybe blush her skin to look like whorled wood. And a green wig. Hmmm...now I totally want to make a dryad...

    56. Thanks for the suggestion Raesha. I'm actually looking into doing a faun / forest spirit. I have a pair of small white angel wings for her, because I intend to do more than just the one idea for her... So, I will more than likely just go with the normal skin. Good idea though :)

    57. Hmmmm sending off Jack todaaaaaay.
And her legs are almost done yay :) Just need to steal my parent's saw today so I can do her hooves.
      They're looking pretty good tho.
She's a sad headless and legless mess now D:

    58. You should totally post a toturial (did I spell that right?) on how to make the legs and such once you're done :) I would like to see it for Skyler.

    59. That´s a good idea, but I didn´t take pictures of the process xD Maybe I can do it with drawings or so.
I just sawed the feet in half (in 5 minutes instead of the filing for two hours `D: )

    60. I can only imagine how long and difficult this process is for you... I'm so frustrated just trying to draw my girl as a faun... the legs will never look right no matter what I do :XD:
