Bobobie and Resinsoul Large Size Dolls Discussion - Part 10!!

Another question.. I want to get a Gang but I'm having issues choosing colors... does Resinsoul still have a light tan resin color that you can special order? I don't want dark tan and coffee just doesn't.. fit.

 

@Stabbie Resinsoul does custom colours, so if you contact them, you can ask them for a specific colour and they'll mix it for you.

 

Oh neat, I didn't know that @Spidermimi. I decided on a light tan Gang after all. I always have a hard time buying Resinsoul cause I love the fantasy colors but I wanted a "normal human" character for once :P

Adorable and a perfect example of why Dai is such a great doll to have. This doll is so versatile and can be anything. I'm really glad I have my two. I dearly love my original but I'm really looking forward to my new green one. Do you know I can't recall ever seeing a boy Dai until now? It looks great too. You're giving me major ideas. My Dai could use a brother, hehe...

 

Someone any experience with ResinSoul Dong ? I really can not decide if I should buy Gang or Dong :/ ...

 

Ooooh, and they look similar to Ai's ears, lovely!!

I love that RS will swap ears between sculpts, and even between sizes!

I've had Angel for some four years now! He is a coffee tan Dai on the Gang body. He's all chipped up now, so I have to redo his body blush and faceup, but I still love him so much. This picture is old but it's one of my favorites!


I used to spam this thread to death with pictures of him to the point people were probably sick of him haha. I've been far less active lately but I still lurk in my favorite threads.

So I'm completely in love with Mi and I want to purchase her soon (kind of a birthday present to myself) and I was wondering what brands of clothes fit. Especially regarding bottoms.

 

I also love Mi! As for clothes, I've has some luck with Dollfie Dream stuff, as the Sophia body is skinny.

 

Jorda and Simar are really gorgeous! Oooh, thanks for the tip! I've seen some DD clothes I really like. Could I perhaps trouble you for a full body picture of your girls? What do you think of the body?

 

@glyndon I second this. Your girls are gorgeous and I've got the pictures to prove it. I've also got a Peakswoods head that needs a body and this body has the right neck size. So pics (since they were dressed when I took their picture at Resin Rose) and opinions would be appreciated. Thanks!

 

For those that have Mi, what eye size and wig size fits the best? I'm on day 2 of the waiting game and I'm anxious to have stuff waiting for my grey skinned Mi when she gets home.

 

@Kiseki_Sedai @dollhausen I have a sophia, she's got the same body as mi. I've got some nudes of her next to my mu, as well as a bit of franken dollying with his parts onto her torso.

Thanks! Wow, she's skinny! I like it cause I think it will differentiate my Cue a little bit from the other PW dolls.....I'll ask Resinsoul about resin matching....

 

If i were looking for clothes for her, I would be looking at bust, torso length and arm length measurements to match for shirts, and hip, crotch length and inseam for pants.



She's skinny, but she's got that booty. I messed up her pants a bit and its a tight fit to get them over her butt. XD

She can wear the clothes I made for my Mu, but its a bit tighter across her bust than it is across his, and the shirts are a bit short, in the arms and torso. (I tend to go for fingertip length sleeves, so its not a big deal.)

His pants fit at his waist, but she wears them lower cause the difference in crotch length, but inseam is basically identical.

I haven't tried making patterns for the ai body, yet, so i can't give a definitive break down there.

 

Goodness, look at those wings! They're absolutely gorgeous. Did you make them yourself?

 

I really could use some RS / BBB advice here! I've been comparing pictures like woah, but I can't seem to find what I'm looking for. I hope someone here can help me without having to start a new thread.

I really love Yun's sweet open face, but I'm not sure if I want the elf ears. Is there a mold, preferably sold by RS, which has the same face but with human ears?
If not, which human girl with an 8cm neck opening do you think looks the most like Yun?

 

Is it Mi? In the comments I found "RS confirmed that Mi also comes with elven ears", but do they mean Yun here?
Sorry if this is a stupid question, but I've been staring myself blind.

EDIT: No, I don't think they're the same. Mi's face is more heart shaped, Yun's is more oval and has a hint of a smile.

 

You don't have to find a different sculpt, you can ask Resinsoul to put different ears on her - all you have to do is email them and ask for "Yun's head with X ears", you can even just say "human ears".

Mi and Yun are different sculpts =)

Hi everyone. I want to make a Doll Chateau Denis on a RS Gang body hybrid. I want to know whether the neck sizes work. If the neck is too big, can I sand to thin the neck? I'm afraid I might thin the resin too much because I never had a RS doll so I don't know how thick their resins are.

Hi! I was wondering if anyone had any tips for working with the 50cm BBB body? I have my Pixie girl on one, and I absolutely hate it. It's so hard to pose her, even after hot glue sueding and restringing her I'm planning on buying her a different body in the future, but I'm stuck for now.

 

I'm so proud of my Zelda (Yun). She got second place in the costume contest at the PNW BJD Expo this weekend!

 

I don't know who got first place, but it must've been one epic costume. I think your Zelda is perfect! I think Yun is the best. She's so versatile. A different faceup really changes her. I love the smokey eyes you gave her.

Too bad the Yun sculpt doesn't seem very popular. Any idea why that might be?

Juno wanted to show off her cool new clothes. It's a little more frilly than her usual wardrobe, but she likes it anyways.

 

How does the Xue body compare to the 60cm girl body (aka Mi/Sophia body) in terms of poseability? I've been googling this for days, but can't really find a good answer. Both girls are double-jointed, so that's good, but the 60cm girl (Mi/Sophia) has one less torso piece and doesn't have the thigh joint. Xue's body, on the other hand, has large hip sockets which don't offer much resin for the legs to grab unto... Anyway, please share your experiences and post some pictures if you can.

Somehow, to me kneeling (Japanese style) is the most important pose a BJD body should be able to do without peanuts popping out or huge gaps to show. Many thanks in advance!

 

@Lael Sophia body kneels beautifully and that's the default pose i leave her in on my shelf. She can also bring her knees up to her chest.

She does kneel beautifully! I knew she did, but I haven't seen a shot of her knees from the front before. The peanuts are longer than the ones Xue has, which means there is no gap showing. I also like Mi/Sophia's hands. They're so elegant. The arm peanuts look more sturdy than Xue's, but do add more length to the arms. I can deal with that.

However, I don't know what to think about the very slender torso and the arched back. It may take some getting used to, or I might consider getting a Xue torso with Mi/Sophia arms and legs. Theoretically, looking at the sizes, this should be possible.

Argh! Decisions, decisions.

 

Question for RS owners!
Does anyone have the Sophia body (sophia/mi 60 cm girl) and the Mu body (hooves) that they could do a fit test for me?
I'm trying to make a hooved hybrid and I wanted to see if the Mu legs will fit on the 60cm body.
Any help is very much appreciated!

She's too loose to stand well in those legs, but she does stand. Also, those are actually Yao hooves at the end of the mu legs, not Mu hooves. (my yao has the mu hooves, they're rounder and clunkier looking and actually they both stand better with the hooves swapped!?!)

I also have an older Ai, but other than how the channels are cut, the Ai and Mu legs are identical.

Lemme know if you need anymore or something in particular.

My Ai is an older one that I picked up secondhand as a project doll. No idea her actual age, but she's pretty darn yellow, unevenly butter toned. So, there might be some variations between her and a newer one.

I couldn't get the Sophia torso to stand in a crouch, but I think that's more to do with the condition of the legs, since the newer mu legs were fine.

The ai leg is the doll's right leg. (the unblushed yellowish one, if your monitor picks that up.)

The tongue that the hips rest on when sitting is what's creating most of the gapping and poor fit.

Hello all, I got my Gang the other day when I got back from vacation and I've tried searching the chat to see what eye sizes ya'll recommend but I can't seem to find anything other than hybrid discussion (or search is being a pain again). So, what size do you think looks best in the Gang head? :3

@Stabbie I would agree with that. When I had my Gang, I liked the 14mm better because it gave him less of the dolly stare.
