Maybe redundant, but naked shot of the 68cm body

 

Yeah that isn't the body that she has in her pictures.. The 68 body is very elegant but the new girl is different. I think that maybe she is measuring wrong? I don't know I had asked Sun to send me a photo of the Dai and Mi a long time back and he did send me photos. I have uploaded them to flickr and she is a bit taller than the 58cm at least in the photos but not hugely different.

 

Chun just arrived, and she's wonderful, but unfortunately although I asked for the jointed hands to be attached, she came with normal hands and the jointed hands in a bag.

When I've tried to swap them, the S hook seems too big for the jointed hands - their bar is much narrower, and the hook is going to scrape against the inside of her arm. Does anyone have recommendations for what hook size to order? (I'm likely to be looking on Angelesque or ebay.)

 

I just got my 60cm boy body in the mail today and I am so impressed! He poses SO well, and he stands like a rock... I got the girl jointed hands for him, since the male ones looked so big, and I think they're a really great fit. If anyone is interested, I can post a picture.

I was thinking about reviewing the body, since I haven't seen any photo reviews of it, just a couple of video ones.

@IndigoAndAsh Sorry to hear her hands don't fit quite right. My hands came separately too, might just be how they ship them. My only recommendation for hooks is try to find a listing with proper measurements...sorry...

@lady_chance Always up for more dolly pics!! I'm curious how much smaller the female hands are from the male. Bobobie has the measurements for the male but not the female hands. Guess I'll have to wait til I splurge again and buy Ai.

 

Hi Qayinie! Maybe I'm biased because I personally love the Mi sculpt (), but Resinsoul is pretty flexible and has excellent customer service. The reason why I'm telling you this is because I think it's worth asking if they would customize a doll for you. When I ordered my first doll, I wanted him to be a deer man, but I loved the Long head sculpt, so I asked if it was possible to put Dan's ears on a Long head and then give the doll a Gang body (all in dark tan)... And it was! So now, I have my beautiful franken-doll at home with me! xD I would ask if you could get a smaller bust or even an immature bust on a Mi or you could ask for a Mi head on a Xue body or maybe you could ask if they could possibly put Xue's nose on a Mi (it sounds like the nose is what you like best about her face)? Or, as someone else suggested, buy both heads for the same body? You would need to email them and talk to Sun about what you want.

 

Personally, I would say go with your gut, and get the doll you fell in love with first, first. You can always get Mi later, she's not going anywhere, and you may well find that you'd really like Xue to have a companion anyway, right? But there's something about her that really called to you in the first place. Xue's body should also prove easier to buy clothing for, since she's not as slender as Mi, which is something you want to keep in mind for a first BJD.

@Darkwingchick RS has measurements for the female hands, which is 6.5cm long, compared to 6.7 for the boy hands. The wrist joint is 5cm, compared to the boys' 5.2. I'll try to nab a picture of the hands later, compared to his defaults.

 

Can anyone please answer - what body does Mi come on, if she's 60cm total including head?

I ask because she seems double jointed, which doesn't seem to match either the 1/3 body or the bigger 1/3 body. Only the 60cm body looks double jointed, but if Mi's on that body she'd be taller including head, right?

I'm confused, help! :P I really want whatever body she's on for my floating head...

I think she's on the Sophia body.

 

The bigger 1/3 girl body is 68cm, so if they give her height at 60cm she's not on that body

Oh, that's even weirder. The only bodies for 1/3 girls they list for sale are

bigger 1/3 body http://www.resinsoul.com/05-chanpin/p-001-1.asp?id=342 (which you say is 68cm, but Mi cannot be on this body because she's 60cm total when assembled)

and 60cm body RESINSOUL--60CM Girl body (she can't be on this body either for the same reason)

1/3 body RESINSOUL--1/3 Girl body (so she's on this body? but I repeat the elbows do not look the same. In Mi's pic she definitely looks like she has double jointed elbows, but the body looks as if it doesn't - of course it doesn't help that they do't show it posing...)

So...where does the Sophia body fit into this?? Sorry for the confusion, guys, haha ^^;; I think resinsoul really need to lay out their products with clear measurements. Lots of people have asked about heights and whether the bodies are double jointed on the webstore but they didn't get their questions answered ;_;

 

@MissyMagoo "60cm body" means "if you put a head on this body, the total size is 60cm" "this body measures 60cm". Why are you saying she can't be on the 60cm body?

 

Oh I'm sorry, I've always understood the height measurements of a body literally. So if a manufacturer says 'this body does not come with a head and is 60cm tall' I assumed that to mean the body itself was 60cm tall, unless told otherwise o.O

So... the 60cm body is the Sophia body. Is there any way to purchase it from RS without the Sophia head?

 

Just email them and say you want to buy the Sophia body. He'll give you a total and you pay with paypal. RS is the best with custom orders. I ordered a Yun on the Xue body with the YUn bust not too long ago and it was no problem switching body parts.

@MissyMagoo You don't even need to order the Sophia body via email, if you don't want. You actually linked to the sales page yourself (RESINSOUL--60CM Girl body -is- the Sophia/Mi body alone). I can tell you this with conviction, as it is the body my Mi came with (that's Mi's blank head in the stock shots, in fact). Just log into your account, choose your color, put her in the cart, and go.
(Or did you need resin matching services and I missed it?)

I managed to change the hands! That's the first time I've done anything involving the stringing - SparkleGrunge helped hold the clamps and no-one got stabbed, which is nice. So Ms Unnamed now has her jointed hands and is just awaiting some hair. (2 options are in the post, along with shoes)

Speaking of shoes... does anyone have measurements on the high heeled feet? I see it says they're suitable for 58cm, but it seems like sizing for the feet is all over the place, and I'm curious if they'd actually look right on Chun. Angelesque gives her foot measurement as 7.2cm which seems about right, they're quite petite for the size of her.

 

Disappointed in my slacking off on the Outfit project... I decided to give Kaitsu a bath to get rid of the resin dust, fluff and grime, and also learn how to string a doll. Thanks to Pugnacious Banana's unstringing and restringing tutorial, I managed it and also took apart his jointed hands to give them a scrub too.

Also, after a decent search here, nobody has a tutorial up of how to string jointed hands, would anyone like one? It only took me 15mins or so per hand to reasemble them, so I wouldn't mind posting one. It seems terrifing but not really that hard. Stringing a doll is much more physically demanding and slightly less intuitive imo. If there is a tutorial already tho, my appologies.

May I ask if anyone has gotten a grey doll from Resinsoul lately? I have an Angelsdoll head I need to get a body for (the old body I was going to have dyed for him as he got android-ed got stolen by an old Elfdoll head. You know how it goes--). I'm wondering if it's a light grey or a more medium shade. I know it varied in the past!

Hi guys! ^ ^ Finally getting back into a discussion thread after taking a bit of a break from the hobby.
I recently ordered the base components for my RS Feng! I had one a few years back, but sold his WS version to someday get him in NS. I ordered his head and a pair of jointed hands from RS and decided on a Doll Family A 62cm 1st gen body for him. Looking over all the measurements I'm hoping the head looks fine on that body. I'm not terribly nervous about it.
This is the first doll I've been able to buy in a while! D:

Also, I've seen some pictures of dolls with the jointed hands on here. How are you guys liking them? ^ ^ Do they hold poses well on their own? When I owned a pair of MSD DollZone jointed hands I had to wire them for them to hold some poses.

 

My RS Gang arrived yesterday! I was a bit nervous, considering that its my very first BJD, but wow, I didn't expect to fall in love with this sculpt this quickly. And I'm super glad to have bought the jointed hands, they really are gorgeous.

You could always have them do resin matching for you, if you want to make sure.

 

I'm looking into getting an RS boy here soon but I'm torn between what character to shell and sculpt and colors and everything... So if anyone has some Gang or Mu to share i'd love to see them in any color. There's not too many of them around and I've seen quite a few but always want to see more. Bonus points for Mu on a human body.

Has anyone else bought a Resinsoul Mi? I am still considering one, maybe in tan. Do the Resinsoul have seam lines? I've only ordered in normal skin but they don't have seams.

 

Resinsoul does an amazing job of removing their seam lines. There's never a single one, even on the jointed hands their pieces are completely smooth.

 

Ok good to know - I have white and normal skin dolls from different companies but I've been afraid to order tan because of the lines. I know Resinsoul does a good job but it's nice to hear it from someone with experience! I want some of their hands!! Is there a place on the forum that will tell you what dolls their hands will fit, besides Resinsoul? I've been saving up since I spent a lot of money on some other dolls, too, but I like their hands so much.

You can get either a lighter gray or a darker one, but the darker one you have to ask and special order. The dark is pretty dark though from what I've seen. Medium might require a head cap match...

 

@Stabbie thank you! And yeah, you're right, the website pictures really turned me away from their dolls, and it wasn't until I saw other people's dolls before I actually considered getting one

 

@Stabbie Mu and Gang share the same torso and arms, Mu and Ai have the same hooved legs.

I don't have a Gang, but i do have a full Mu and an Ai body and the legs are identical. The Ai/Mu legs fit the Sophia body too, but I haven't tried standing her with them, so I'm not sure how that'll work.

So, I'm really interested in the resinsoul 60cm female body, but I want it for a hybrid for my zaoll luv head.
Does anyone have any photos of this body as a hybrid at all? Not necessarily just with a zaoll head,
but I'm just interested to see how it looks with other heads.

Hi! I need a little bit of info on Resinsoul dolls, I wonder if someone can help me. I'm putting together a Frankendoll from spare parts I have and have purchased. I'm only missing legs and arms (my doll will have 4 arms and currently I've acquired only one)! I want them in grey skin, so I thought of turning to Resinsoul - and they're very accommodating, so I think I can order just arms, legs and jointed hands separately.

But my problem is this; I'm very confused with all the choices of 1/3 bodies Resinsoul has. I'm mostly interested in the bigger 1/3 body, but there are very little pictures of it, and I'm also lacking a few measurements. My doll will have a Soom Amber tummy+butt piece, so I need legs that will fit somehow. And if possible, I want both double jointed knees and a mobility joint.
From the body page on the 68cm girl body, you can see that she has double joints on her knees: RESINSOUL--Bigger girl body
Well, at least in the second picture she has double joints.

BUT it also says that this is Chun's body, and on Chun's page she does not have double joints: http://www.resinsoul.com/05-chanpin/p-001-1.asp?id=338

Can someone please clarify if this bigger 1/3 girl body actually has double joints or not? AND if someone would be so kind of measure the thigh circumference on this body, so I can compare it with Soom Amber's?

@tekkonkinkreet Chun confused me too, I didn't get the right info until I actually emailed them. But I have a Chun next to me and she's got double-jointed elbows and knees.

I'm not sure where you would measure the thigh but the widest part is just under 15cm around.

 

@IndigoAndAsh Thank you for the fast reply! ♥ Okay, it's comforting to know that the elbows and knees are double-jointed. I think I will send RS an email soon. Thank you for the measurement also! Apparently Soom SG thighs are 16cm, so maybe I can make RS thighs work.

Hello! I have an RS Long, and I'm curious, those who have these big boys- where do you get shoes for them? Is their size 8 - 8.7cm? I just love him to deattth. The smirk he has is so cute!

I found my long fit the regular SD shoes I found just fine- and on comparison he seems to have the same size feet as my Gang body-, but I bought them local and had a chance to try them on first, so your mileage may vary.

I really got interested in a Resinsoul Mi, since I heard that she is also available with elf ears. But I cannot find any pictures with her having elf ears. I even asked Resinsoul, but they told they do not have one yet, but could take one. Ever since I said I would be happy to see her picture, they did not reply anymore XD. Does someone have her with elf ears maybe and can show me her picture?

Today I got a mail by Resinsoul, Mi looks so pretty as an elf. Will need a bit time to save up, but am definately getting her in a short while.
