Bluefairy Cafe in Seoul, Korea

Sep 24, 2011

    1. Hello everyone,

This is my first time logging in to Den of Angels in quite a while. I was just walking around my local neighborhood in Seoul, Korea last night and suddenly saw something I never knew existed! The Bluefairy Cafe in Hongdae! It's a cafe but it also sells dolls, wigs and shoes, which are all displayed in cabinets around the walls. I was so excited to see this, I wanted to share the info with anyone else living/traveling in Seoul!

Not sure if I can give accurate directions, but ... Come out of Hapjeong exit 6, walk straight along the main road, turn left at NH bank, walk straight across the first crossroads and keep walking until you see the cafe on your right. I shall attempt to redirect myself back there very soon :)

    2. Wow!

I've heard of little boutiques in either parts of other countries, like China or the Philippines featuring BJD clothes and accessories, but never a cafe in any place.

      Did you go inside?

    3. I had a quick look inside, but it was late at night and they were closing. I'll go back there another time and have a better look around!

    4. Gosh, this looks really nice! Looks like they have many adorable limited BFs there.... even the newest and older ones ! Gotta remember this cafe if I am ever going to Korea, thank you for telling us about this cafe :--D

    5. Wow, sets of limiteds too! Now that's MY idea of a great theme restaurant!

    6. wow so many great limited dolls! WANT

    7. Wow! Thanks for the heads-up. Going to have to go sometime. I always love the BlueFairy booth at the DollFree Markets.

    8. OMG, thanks for letting us know,

    9. Waiiii it is fabulous to see the Midsummer Night's Dream girls from 2007~ish. I wish I could visit there. =w=

    10. Thank you so much for this info! I plan on going this week or weekend!!!

    11. ;vvvv; i need to visit this place when i get the chance!

    12. That's fantastic! It got me thinking it would be a great idea to have a cafe with a doll theme. I live in the USA and it wouldn't be something people would go for in my neck of the woods, but maybe when I have a chance to move to a bigger city I'll do it!

    14. OMG how much I want to be there!!!!! Seeing all the limiteds IRL is a dream!

    15. Awesome news! I'm definitely going there on my next trip to Seoul~

If anyone needs a map, Blue Fairy has a link to one at the bottom of this board post.

    16. Thank you so much for letting us know! The limiteds...wow!!

    17. Ahh, Blue Fairies are my favourite and now they have their own cafe! So envious right now, I wish I could go (would take me a couple of years to save the money to holiday in Korea on my wages >.<).

    18. Hi.

Can any of you confirm the exact location of the Blue Fairy Cafe on the following Google map? :sweat

If you can confirm if FairyLand has a shop also, that would be awesome. :D

[edit] Don't bother about FairyLand. I've gotten an email from them confirming it isn't a shop. They don't have a physical shop there, it's only their workspace.

      Thanks!

    19. Hi, interesting tread.. Can we buy any bjd in the cafe?

      Thanks

    20. I would guess not all are for sale.
As there are some fairly old and highly desirable limited dolls on display there
