They are incredibey gorgeous; they seem to be quite an overlooked company. I think I first discovered them a few months back bit admittedly I don't recall which doll it was that caught my eye. To me; Silver and Waltz look almost the same I can't see much difference. Draven is the smiley one I think- which makes me laugh as that is my sons name and he can be such a grump :P

 

Sorry, but who is who in these pics? Okay, nevermind, just found the answer myself, while browsing through their website. However, I'm a little confused now are they selling the complete doll or only the head?

 

Looking at the cost for shipping and the info posted on their Q&A section, it seems like they are selling heads that are a resin match for Luts' bodies...

 

$390 seems a bit steep for just a head. And if they are hybrids, I wish they were not all wearing high-neck long sleeves so you can see the resin match better. Shame, I was very tempted by Waltz.

 

Wow, for a U.S. company, their heads are actually pretty good lookin'!

 

Phew... 390 bucks for just a head + considering the fact that they are made to fit the white skin SDFs (which are not even available at present and who knows if or when they will ever be available again) seems too much for me.

 

Silver Draven reminds me of Winona Ryder! LOL!

 

Their previous dolls were indeed only heads, but these guys are full dolls with their own bodies (NOT Delf or SDF). Blue Blood Doll has added clay pictures to their front page:

looks like a very good alternative for SDFs XD. i find i like the body~~ (though, the big boys lover in me is still wishing it was taller ahaha). i wish it's double jointed!

Ooh, I like them both. Would love to see more pics. And the bodies look great! I always judge the quality of a sculpt from its hands, and those hands look very nice. I also like the detail of the bellybutton, the proportions are pleasing, the musculature is not overdone... I am not sure which of the two boys' faces I prefer, both are really pretty. I think I lean toward Waltz because of his eye shape and cute pouty lips. I hope we will see larger photos though, the ones available are just a little blurry.

 

I like Waltz a lot! He's got quite a look to him XD But the site says Draven's ears are pointed. I hope we can see pictures of those soon! Elves will be my downfall lol

Waltz is lovely, I agree. ^^ As is Draven but I'm not one for elves.

 

And they're available now! With more pics too. Ooo, I'm liking Silver a lot more now, and Draven is so lovely in white skin. The body looks really impressive too. I'm definitely considering buying one of these lovelies! *glares at pitiful bank account*

 

I really like the look of that body! I hope they offer it for sale separately. If the normal resin is a decent match, I'd love to get it for a floating head. Maybe my Peroth head? Poor guy has been bodiless for way too long.

The new pics look great. I think I actually like Silver best now. Draven's growing on me too.

I'm glad they are not limited. I think the limited-standard meaning is that they will only release in groups of 50 or 100, but there are an indefinite number of releases? I like the default faceups, but I'd love to see different faceups and/or owner pics for each of these boys.

I like silver and as much as I would like to get him, I really can't at the time.

What do they mean by standard limited?

 

It appears that they mean all 100 (or 50, in Draven's case) will not be in stock all at once, and that there will be a lag in delivery time sometimes? But they seem pretty solid about the "only 100 ever" bit of being limited.

I'm in a reverse situation, Allegra. I can afford him right now, but would only be interested in the body, and would probably only have the head hanging around as a floater. Personally, I am by *no* means certain that I would get a Blue Blood - I am waiting till some information comes back about their resin type and color matching - but I'm sure there'll be plenty of DoA'ers who could arrange a split with you, if you'd be interested in Silver's head only.

I *wish* they'd update with some non-faceup'd shots, and some comparison shots of this resin to other companies' resin, because if it matches Crobidoll? I'm *SO* there. I also think they could get far by selling only the body, or only the head... It's so pretty - not quite as nice as Crobidoll's R-Line, but still quite gorgeous, and since they're a US maker there won't be customs (at least for me ), and they've included the tax too.... It would be just too good to be true.

I'm in the same basic situation of not being certain, although I haven't ever been certain of any doll.
Haha, I was thinking the same thing about the crobidoll body earlier I like the way it looks more.

 

I also want to know what kind of resin they use. The boys have a very soft, almost transparent glow that reminds me of french resin, but if it is infact urethane I'm very interested They are lovely boys and I like their size and body sculpt, especially their hands which is a huge focus point for me.

Waltz seems to be the rally favorite and I have to say he's the one that caught my attention too

I think what I like most about the bodies is the waist joint. Many boy dolls now have the double segment body (with an undie-crease joint and a right-under-the-moobs joint), but these ones have a single, midpoint joint very similar to the Volks boys. I also like the double joint in the elbows, its very discreet.

I think you're right about the "limited standard" interpretation, nightengale. That would make sense!

As a Californian, I am very happy that an extra 9.25% sales tax wouldn't be tacked on (why yes, it did just get raised by 1% ). I'm looking forward to seeing bigger pics of the heads wihout makeup too. ^^

Most companies do not provide resin matching info unless they only sell heads, and these are being sold only as full dolls. So I kinda doubt that Medusa will have much info on resin matching for us, unless she happens to have access to BJD's she can use for comparison. ^^; It shouldn't be too hard to find out if they match Crobi resin or not though! Crobi is very very close to Volks resin, and Volks dolls are quite common. I'd love to be able to put one of them on a Crobi M-line body, since their height is the one thing making me hesitate in buying them. I want a TALL boy for my girl, lol. xD

All I can say is that I really want Waltz. He is a perfect match for my character Kotir (I linked to all three dolls and told my friends to pick out Kotir, they all picked Waltz like me xD)

I was totally captivated by Waltz, and it does look like that he's the popular choice! I'm not surprised, he does look good! But I'm sad that I won't be able to buy him cause I haven't raised enough money. At this rate, all 100 of him will be gone. D; Hope for re-release if they sell out! >__<

Congrats, Tosh! Waltz is a great choice for your first. Did you order him with makeup? ^^

I'd suggest dollmore.net and eluts.com as good starting points for clothes and such, and cancan-jseries.net and jpopdolls.net are a couple of my favorite wig shops. Ebay is also a great place to get BJD stuff!

 

I'm very impressed with the body. I wish Silver was the one with Elf ears-I think his narrower face is more elfy.

Good thing I'm broke at present or both he and Waltz would be mine.

i found at dollheart a nice outfit and i bought allready, and shoes and wig. (i love blonde) i hope will fit him! i wanted teh stuff coming before the doll lol so at least i have something to put on him.
i wonder how long time will take to have all the stuff from oversea.

 

Dollmore is really fast, in my experience Customs might take some time but usually their shipping is quite quick.

 

I can second that! I just made my first order from them on the 26th, and today (the 27th) I got an email saying that my package is already shipping!

I also recently ordered from Sunny's World, and she said that I could expect the package in my hands in 3 to 4 weeks. That's slower than I was hoping for, but I suppose it's okay because she's making the pants for my boy on-demand. Thank goodness for that.

Even though I didn't go for the Blue Blood body this time around, I'm still keeping him in mind for later/eventually. I'll be interested to see what people say about it once they get ahold of him and try him out in the next months!

Provided everything goes to plan, I will be able to pay for my Waltz next week. You have no idea how excited I am, he'll be my first doll. I bought him a wig and Kimono last week so he has something to wear when he gets home xD

 

I really wanted Draven but then I found Hunter and well. He's just so darn cute. So Draven will have to wait until I find more money. *sniff*

 

Does anyone have one of these yet? I thought the body looked interesting in the photos-I'd like to know about poseability. I'd also like to know your general overall impression with the doll in hand-are you pleased with the quality? Which of the sculpts did you get?

hehe, Waltz was my first doll. I saw him and instantly wanted him. Took me a few months to finally get the money together, but man he was worth it. He's a stunning doll, and I have no doubt Silver will be just as amazing.

 

Does anyone have any resin and size comparisons for these boys? I'd love to see one next to a Volks SD13 boy and see how the resin matches up as well.

Ooooh, Waltz is going to be my first doll. I read the company feedback thread, everybody says they are absolutely stunning and pose well. And the shipping time is so quick! That's awesome because I'm terribly impatient, especially with something like a doll!!!

Now, what other companies wigs, eyes shoes, clothes and whatnot fit these dolls? Especially as far as wigs. What size eyes do they come with???

 

The paint job is very well done! It looks good in a female body too. Would you be able to convert the gender? How tall is he? What choice of skin colours do you have?

 

I've found SOOM Super Gem Male clothes fit rather well, pants are a fraction long, but nothing serious. I believe my boy has a luts (8-9inch) wig on at the moment. Eyes I believe are 16mm.

I haven't tried any other companies for clothes as I fell in love with a SOOM outfit, and buying other dolls has bumped getting more clothes for Kotir out of the way xD

 

For those who own one, where do these dolls ship from? I'm curious.
