Got my first Pocket Fairy recently, a WS Betty Sugar! She was "Orange Betty" but I also got the Watermelon dress because I liked the color better. Her name is Peppermint.

 

Congrats on your new addition Reynardine. The watermelon dress is super cute and her name is one of my very favourites.

 

Hanna wants to say hello, but she's a little too shy to say it alone.


I was lucky enough to find her on the marketplace, along with her sister who'll be home a little later.

I've had Mitten and Ophelia out and about for the first time in ages and quite forgot how much I love these two. I think I'm going to make a mini roombox for them. I found plans in one of my Japanese mooks for a tiny square open sided room that I think I'll make as a lounge room for them.

Honeythorpe, Ophelia is my favorite Pocket Fairy sculpt, I always love to see her. She makes me want a Didi even more then ever.

I have a question for everyone with the sugar and pepper bodies! How do you keep your doll's head attached?
I have a sugar body for my Hanna (Yoko) and when I went to switch her head over, the s-hook that kept her body's elastic from slipping away did not fit through her neck.
When I tugged the elastic through with a hook and re-hooked her s-hook to her headcap (to keep it on), it made her knees a bit too kicky.
I might just need to adjust her elastic, but I wanted to see how other people with the larger body managed.
The idea of re-stringing her if one of the threads slips is frightening!

PetiteChair, they'll usually activate that pre-order section once the sale actually starts (which should be 5pm in Seoul--that will make it the middle of the night here in the US.)

Aww, they are simply the cutest ever! If I didn't just get a ShinyFairy, it's be very tempted to get a PF with a Sugar body (love the slim overall look and the super cute legs), they've been on my wishlist for a while. The whiteskin makes this release even more drool-worthy! Eee!

 

Wowwww,Locksley! Why do we always think similarly to each other?!!3 Look at my doll wishlist in my profile, I've been alway wanting a PF May with sugar body!!! I remembered the Special Daisy MiniMay grasped my heart at my first glance, she's too gentle and sweet! But you're right, she's not able to come now because of our new SF May! However maybe both of us will own our beloved PF someday~ haha XD

 

The new edition is just beautiful, does anyone know what sculpt the sugar boy is? I like his shy smile

Kayjay: oops! I totally missed the boy part! Curious what BF says, but I think he is a Choco or Charlie.

 

kayjay I think he's choco. I really like the way they painted his top lip. Choco is second on the options list and he looks most similar to the basic choco of all the sculpts.

I wish we could see pictures of some of the other faceups - it would be nice to see a little group of them together. I really want MiniMay in white skin but I don't think it's possible this go round. That's ok as I'm sure there will be other opportunities.

 

They're the two I was looking at, the limited faceup really makes it hard to see. Although my little PF Maisie is NS so I think I'd be better off getting her a NS brother and resisting these limited ones

edit: Honeythorpe, yes I'm coming down to Choco, I'll post back what BF say. I love the Choice Choco so I might save for him rather than this edition which I can't really afford at the moment due to a splurge in dolls recently.

 

I have been enjoying photos of the PF sugar body and getting ready to order Minimay. The white skin is very pretty. Is this a special face up or the same as basic?
I have questions on BF but so far they have answered everyone's but mine. I wonder if my questions were confusing. Hi kayjay!

The faceups are special also, the default ones are very natural and barely there really. I added blush to my little PF which has brought her to life. The white ones are so pretty aren't they? I'm not sure how easy it is to get clothes for the sugar body, it's quite hard finding them for the chubby PF body as Lati Yellow is mostly too big and Puki mostly too small. But I love my little PF

Thanks Kayjay! She is very cute. I have some clothes that will fit her, so I am good there. I would love to see a comparison of BF white and normal skin.
I have the money but little time to decide. I do like color in a face up,but the wait time is 50 days. I am too impatient. I may be able to add shading like you did on your little one.

kayjay i think it's probably easier now finding clothes for sugars than it is for the regular pocket fairies. There are a couple of commercial dolls whose clothes fit quite well (nikki/odeco and tiny betsy) and some clothes made for middie blythes fit too as well as some lati yellow/pukifee clothing. Your little one is so cute. one day I must get another regular size pf.

oliveoil I found this comparison picture online. I don't think the current normal resin is as yellow as this - it's a bit pinker but it might give you an idea

Can PF wear Kish Riley wigs? I have a bag of wigs size 4/5. I am hoping to find something in there for Minimay.

 

oliveoil no problem - I know someone said over on the tiny fairy thread (I think it might have been Xaya) that the BF white skin is very stable and doesn't change a great deal which is nice to know as some white skin from other companies is not so good.

I think they're a true size 4 so the 4/5s might be a bit big but it depends on the manufacturer (Mitten wears a 3/4 from FL but I think it's only because that particular wig is oversized)

 

This is a Riley size wig from RubyRed, it's a long time since I took this photo, and I can't remember how it fitted, but it looks ok here

honeythorpe: Thanks! I need to make a decision this evening. I am not sure I like the 50 day wait. 10- 20 sounds so much better. I have a variety of wigs, some Tib Wool wig that may or may not work. I have some great hats made for Riley. Crossing my fingers they fit.

midolls looking forward to seeing your new additions - you have such a gorgeous PF family. I would really love to be adding WS minimay but just can't manage it this go round, I need to either sell some dolls or do a lot of sewing before the next release. I'd also really like to add a TF baked boy if they make any more or a SF girl so for the meantime it's just Mitten and Ophelia here.
oliveoil if it helps any, the BF NS resin is my favorite of all my NS resins. It has a beautiful pinkish undertone and has mellowed only slightly rather than yellowing like some of my girls from other companies. I didn't realise the WS had a longer wait time, but it makes sense. I remember the wait for my TF Maeve seemed agonizingly long! If you order a NS girl, I'd be surprised if the wait time is as much as 20 days.

 

Why not drop them a question and ask if you can add it to your order later?

Which was what I was hoping to order sometime this year. I debated and debated and debated on whether or not I wanted to get my choco in white... but decided that it just isn't right for the character I wanted (who is a doll I have in TF size, I wanted to make baby version XD)

... here is my question though. Anyone know of good braid wigs that would fit pocket fairies?

 

navci: Try CanCan wigs! If you like the style of their braids, the fit is great!

 

navci If you're ok with wefted mohair there's a 4" wig available from several places on ebay that would definitely fit to stretch PF heads. Some shops have 3-4 and some a size 4" It is only available in a limited number of colours though. I have the 5-6 and 6/7 versions and can verify that there's plenty of stretch in the wig cap and in fact it runs a little oversized so looks best on heads at the larger end of the size range. The look a little oversized on the pukis they are using as models so I think would fit really nicely on PF heads. I've linked to a picture of my lati wearing it - I did replait mine and take out the extra bit of hair that they braid in for fullness as I wanted skinny skinny braids. She has a big noggin right at the top end of 5-6 and it fits her much better than my pukifee

Cancan j series don't have a wig with full braids - only those tiny little narrow ones but their wigs do fit PF perfectly. I wish they had a few more styles as I really like the fiber they use - it's really fine and nicely in scale with the delicate PF features

Oh and try kemper dolls - they have the "heidi" style, once again mohair and in a size 4-5

Honeythorpe: That is perfect! That is more or less what I needed, in carrot no less. I am hoping maybe I can get bangs... I wonder how hard is it to trim a mohair wig? So 4-5 is what I'll be looking at then? *goes off to look*

 

No problem Navci - the one that I have definitely has bangs and comes in a really rich shade of carrot. TBH I think a 3/4 would fit in that particular wig better than a 4/5. If you go with the Kemper dolls one, I might go 4/5 as I think they have the more rigid wig caps.

The only thing that has stopped me from having a pocket fairy earlier is the size. It just seems like it is so hard to get things for them.
But now that I have most of the things I want for other dolls .... I think I need one of these.

I hope Bluefairy will release a white skin pepper body part.I mean I already have a white skin doll and I want to change it to pepper bodyi think it's easier to find clothes for sugars than the regular pocket fairies.The "PF White Choice"is very tempting but I don't want to buy a new one.

teddylauw I don't know that BF would ever offer just a body option in white skin. It's never been available for any of their other sizes as far as I know as white skin always signifies a special limited release for BF.

juliepinetree June is an MSD sized doll - a little smaller than a Tiny Fairy and with a curvy body and SF sized head. So maybe something like a Unoa 1.5 or a Chicline from Fairyland. No new tinies to tempt you...though they are going to have another baked release (I'm guessing for Dollism). I only heard mention of baked TF but it would be nice to see more baked PF. I like Sophie's tshirt!

 

I just got a Pocket Fairy Sugar and she needs clothes. She can wear "Miss Amanda Jane" and some "Lonely Hearts Club" outfits, but I need to know what else she can wear. I've seen so many cute pictures here of everyone's Sugars.

Yup, I meant Only Hearts Club. Good catch. Everything fits her except the full length slacks. The slacks can be shortened.

This sounds like a really dumb question, but what size seam allowance do you use when you make your doll clothes?? They're always so adorable and professional-looking, and I'm just very impressed.
