Blossom Doll Discussion

I am very interested in Molly. I don't like buying only heads, so I would need the company to either tell me what body is a perfect match or if they would sell one to me.
I hope we can get some more information soon about it.

 

Molly and Iris are pretty deluxe. I am not super familiar with Dollzone's aesthetic, but I don't see a resemblance.

 

How much all of the heads resemble Doll Chateau's dolls (eye shape, lip shape, ear shape on one that looks almost exactly like Cyril's) almost disturbs me... I really don't know what to think about it.

 

I agree, I don't either. I am not a huge fan of Dollzone's style, and this looks very different to me. I am really wanting to buy Molly.

 

Actually, when I first saw Hyacinth I thought it was Dollzone's Wilka mold. They look similar, but they're not the same.

How funny, Cloudedmind! I really want to buy her fullset, too. She is exactly like a character of mine. Even the hairstyle and outfit. It was kinda uncanny when I saw Molly for the first time! I would only need to make minor adjustments to her, like adding to her faceup and adding leather pants. But that is so easy to do!
I emailed them today and I asked about if they will be selling the fullset, how much, and what to do about the body. I hope they get back to me soon.

 

The girl bodies are definitely the Dollzone 62cm female bodies. Seeing as this company are offering these dolls as "fullsets" if you email them it makes me suspicious. It could be legit - as in they are actually buying Dollzone bodies to use with their own heads but the fact that there are no actual company details on the website and they are a new company that no-one has heard of sets of alarm bells with me. I could be just being paranoid - seeing as the last thing I just saw was some Chinese company selling recast rip offs of Volks/Luts dolls on Etsy...

I love the Molly head but I can see Dollzone-like (or Doll Chateau which is a Dollzone sister company) lips, chins and noses on these heads, although the ears on these heads are very nice - better than Dollzone ears. Could be totally legit or could be modded Dollzone heads. I hope they are legit. Has anyone contacted them or bought one of these heads?

 

I hope they rev up their website very soon then, because I don't just want to send money to some random place in China. I don't think they are recasts or modded recasts, but just artists with similar tastes. To my eye, they look a lot different, but I can see how you see the DC/DZ similarity. I am also curious if anyone has already ordered a head. I need more info from them before I take the plunge.

 

I agree, that wig is killer-cool I really like Iris, I think I can see having her. I really like the mod-gothish look of Molly's and Iris's outfits; I wish I could be creative (and sew!) like that.
I really hope this is a sister company to Dollzone (like Doll Chateau), or that they're related somehow (and that there not a pirated company) I can see some slight resemblance to Dollzone and Doll Chateau...

 

Also consider please that can be some sculptor that worked with Chateau Doll or Doll Zone and now is just working on his/her own..why thinks immediately if this company is legit or not?
For full set maybe they mean just face up and wigs and some clothes,these company are all based in Asia so english isn't their mother language, what we undestands when we're reading full set may be not what company means..

 

I can definitely see the resemblance to doll chateau and dollzone. They probably are sculptors who branched off. I have to say the ears on these dolls are a lot more delicate looking than those on DZ or DC dolls.

As for the wig I've seen one just like it on flickr so I'm not sure if it is a modified wig or factory made. It's beautiful tho.

 

These dolls are much into the Russian fairy tale vibe to me,which is very new..basicly these dolls reminds me the style of Enchanted Dolls by Marina.

 

I personally see nothing wrong on on legit in this company, i agree with Invie and $abbatha, maybe for full-set they ment face-up, wig and costume...
BTW i would love to have Molly, and i also see some Russian vibe in the costume...

 

Personally I think DC and DZ have great quality dolls so if they were produced by the same company I think it's great. The DC website was also very weird when they first started out so perhaps they are indeed under the same umbrella.

 

DZ indeed have great quality doll, but to point again about Blossom Doll simply if there were soemthing non-legit the company didn't waste time in build a web site, they can gain much more attention on some tao-bao shops or something like that on istance...

 

Is taobao shop easily accessible by overseas customers? Right now I can't access their website at all and I also have very little familiarity with Taobao. If they are indeed sister companies with DZ and DC it makes more sense to make this website for international attn. Most companies I've seen posting here try to have their own website or distributor first because they want overseas audience.

I think they are legit. The quality of their images are very high. But I think maybe they jumped the gun since the website isn't ready yet. At the same time DC did the same thing a few months back.

 

Iris looks interesting

I see there is a body tab on the site, so I guess they must also sell them with bodies. I look forward to seeing the body sculpts! This company looks promising.

 

I like the look of Iris, she's got this stern look that suits one of my characters very well. I'll have to keep an eye on these gals.

 

If I get any it will be Hyacinth, love the nose and lips! I wonder if Paypal will be an option at some point?!

So far the 3 emails I have sent have bounced back....and if I'm not mistaken, I swear the heads were $127.00, now they are $136.00

 

is anyone else having trouble with the website. I have yet to be able to see it.

 

Ooo I hope this is that company you speak of. I have a DC girl; blossom doll would be perfect with her. And if it is a DC project, hopefully it won't be long till Mint of Card or DenverDoll Emporium acquire the rights to sell them stateside

Also, the more I look at Hyacinth, the more she reminds me of Doll Chateau Hugh. I think she would make a cute boy.

It's funny, the more I think about these dolls, the more I know one will be joining me in the future. And then hearing the sculptor used to work for my favorite company is just awesome! I think I'm going to wait until they possibly have bodies, though. While I wouldn't mind buying one of their heads and putting it on a DZ body like it was mentioned they did, I would rather see what they come up with.

But I'm excited. I've subscribed to this thread in hopes of keeping tabs on them.

 

Blossom rep emailed me back this morning.
The fullset will be available in the future, and it will not be limited. They said that they will plan on opening up a paypal option soon. As for the body, all they said is that its 1/3 scale: head size 21 cm, neck hole 9cm.
So I guess I will just wait for the fullset to be for sale with a body. Pretty exciting!

 

That's great news. Once they have Paypal I'll definitely be getting Iris, I love her stylish look.

 

So, I was wondering...
If Molly is photographed on the DZ 62cm body, do you think I can put her on the DZ 65 cm body? the neck size is a little different. Ugh, I hate making hybrids!

 

I'm thinking they might be nice on the SD size Doll Chateau body!

 

I was thinking that the Doll Chateau would be a popular choice. For me, though the bodies are a little too thin and stylized. I like the borderline thinness and style of the DZ 65cm girl body, but not knowing if the head will fit makes me very nervous.
Molly's head opening is 9cm....
DZ 62cm body's neck is 8cm and the neck for the 65cm body is 9.3cm. I've never done a hybrid before so I don't know what the neckholes are supposed to be like in proportion to the necks. Any ideas?

 

Well! These heads are certainly quite something, and I just love how the dolls are styled. I'll definitely be keeping an eye on this company .

Wow, I love these! Molly and Anthurium especially, Anthurium also reminds me of the new Supia boys! How could you not see the resemblance to DZ and DC, Hyacinth especially looks a lot like a DZ doll. I wasn't a fan of Dollzone's style at first either, Tetradeka, especially their first sculpts really weren't my cup of tea, those low set features.... But then I took an interest when they changed their sculpting style when releasing Una and Jeremy and now I'm in love with them! So I suggest giving them another try, their new style (featured in DC aswell) is awesome.
Sorry for going a little OT, I can't wait for Blossom Doll's body release!

The body in the pictures is DZ's 62cm body and the approximate price of the fullset will be $650. But the price has not been set just yet.

I didn't get an answer if the DZ65 cm body would work though.

Zomboid- Yes, I think I have to agree with you. Dollzone has taken a turn for the better recently in their artistry and their unique sculpts. I think I will have to give them another chance.
The only thing I am worried about is resin quality. I am very, very picky about resin. I sold a DIM because the resin wasn't what I wanted it to be. I have never held a Dollzone so I can't even say if I like their quality. I will try emailing the rep again and ask if I can use the DZ65 cm body

 

Dollzone resin is very nice - smooth not powdery and not plastic like either.

 

I felt in love with Iris outfit, just can not stop watching - and wig is just amazing!!! It's probably a construction inside - I will try to do something like that with a wig.. will see results

 

I can spoke out on DZ quality, very very good, and about resembalnce between Blossom doll and DZ and DC this is something that caught everyone attention, but anyaway i think i keep an eya on this company as i would love to have Molly in future, and thanks to Tetradeka for the info about prices, and to krevetka about size of male and female heads.

I just saw today on Blossom doll's news area that the fullset should be available in about 3 months. I am so excited! I really want the Molly fullset. She is perfect for my character. I hope they have Paypal ready by then.

i thought these were by dollzone / doll chateau when i looked at the photos! they are beautiful looking sculpts and the wigs / clothes are wonderful.
i will be keeping an eye on the company and see what happens over the comming months but i do love their wigs and clothes too! lol

I emailed the blossom rep, and sadly, she says the boy won;t be sold in a full-set with the tattoo work. Shame!

i agree $avage i would love to see the body that they make for the heads too, as they look great heads
