Black Lights/UV Lights

Mar 17, 2011

    1. I've read somewhere that they cause yellowing, but it was only mentioned in passing. Can anyone tell me more about it? Is it the prolonged exposure type of yellowing, or noticeable after a short amount of time type of yellowing? If you have any experience shooting your dolls with a black light, please share your experiences.

That being said, if you took pictures of your dolls with black lights, please share your pictures and the stories behind their creation. We have some black lights lying around, and I think it'd be cool to try something more experimental if it wasn't harmful. :D

      What's a black light/UV light?

Edit: If it helps, the kind of UV light I'll be making use of are fluorescent tubes pictured on the upper right hand corner.

    2. I have not had any issues with limited exposer to black lights and Volks Pure Skin SDs. I have not left them exposed for extended times, so I do not know what the long term effects may be. If you have an odd resin doll. i.e. blue skin or something like that, then I would not expose them to black lights at all. I have heard second hand reports that some of those types of resins can changes colors after a very short exposer to UV light.
