Black Cherry Minis

I love your girls! I have Meihua on order in milk chocolate, which I hope will work with the fantasy-color wig I bought. If it doesn't, she can exchange wigs with another doll. I wanted natural skin but the in-stock doll was already sold and I didn't want to wait for another pre-order. She's so cute I love her in either color. Until she arrives I'll get my daily fix by looking at Yelena and Tasha.

 

I can't decided which of Tasha's two wigs I like better. I love the long yellow and orange wig, but I also like how the shorter blonde wig gives her a completely different look. Yelena's short red wig is my favorite. If Meihua can wear the fantasy wig I bought, she'll have blonde, pink, yellow, purple, blue and green hair. It sounds awful but most of it blends together. I like to stretch a new wig a little before putting it on a new doll, so another doll is wearing Meihua's wig at the moment. I only hope she's willing to give it back when Meihua gets here.

 

It sounds like the Eirlys and Meihua sculpts have different size heads. That's awkward when planning for wigs. I like having wigs that several girls can wear. If they can share, it cuts down on how much money I have to spend.

You could get a tan Eirlys...or maybe Black Cherry will release a new MSD in the near future.

I emailed Black Cherry saying that I wanted to pay off my layaway but haven't received an answer. I hope that means she's planning to send me an invoice soon. I want my Meihua!

 

Joining this thread because I snagged one of the Caramel Meihua gals that BCD posted as in-stock! I also snagged the extra hands and feet.

 

Well, it appears that my email requesting to pay off my layaway didn't go through, because yesterday I got an invoice for my 2nd of 3 payments. I guess I can wait one more month for Meihua's arrival.

Congrats @Lyzrd! I didn't order any extras with my girl. I considered the ballet feet but then realized it would be hard to find ballet shoes that fit. I have ballet shoes for Dollmore's Ballet Kid, but they're way too big to fit Meihua.

 

I also snagged a caramel girl! Currently all my slim msd stuff is in a different continent to me so now on the hunt for stuff to fit her

 

I'm interested in these lovely ladies. Can you guys tell me how their posing is?

 

At the moment only @Luna_and_Stelladolls can tell you that. The rest of us are still waiting for our dolls. I'm interested in the posing possibilities, too.

 

Well, I guess I'll be waiting with you, since I was too inpatient and got one of the caramel Meihuas on layaway with the ballet feet

 

Thanks for the response and the pics @Luna_and_Stelladolls . Some of my dolls won't sit unless their legs are spread-eagled like a very small child would sit. I guess I'll deal with her stringing when she gets here, although given a choice between a doll that is loosely strung or one that is too tight, I'll take the loose one. I purchased a doll in early 2018 who is still so tight I can't open him up to restring him. He curls up in a tight little ball as if all he wants in the world is to be left alone.

By the way, we are only allowed to post one photo per post in the discussion threads. There's a way to have one photo visible and hide the others so that we can see them by clicking on a button. Unfortunately I don't know how to do that. There must be instructions on here somewhere.

Hi. My Milk Chocolate Meihua just arrived on Friday and she is lovely, though I still can't get over how small her head is compared to her body! The sculpt of her body is divine but as others have mentioned, her body needs sueding. I already restrung her legs to make them tighter, though I was surprised that they had used two pieces of elastic, one for each leg as opposed to one longer piece for both which is what I'm used to seeing. Tightening her elastic certainly made her legs more cooperative, especially those knee joints. Her arms are very kicky so definitely need sueding, along with all of her really. Overall she's beautiful, I mainly bought her because she was a promotional version with a gorgeous Mayakdolls face up which I instantly fell in love with (her head had only been used for two photo sessions, but her body was brand new) I had a yarn wig made for her before she arrived but there's something not quite right about it for her, thinking it may be the colour - wigs are my nemesis!

 

Congrats on your Meihua's arrival, @BelladonnaWolfsbane - I can't wait to see her! Mine will be Milk Chocolate, too, so I'm curious to see owner photos of the color. Not looking forward to having to restring and/or suede her, though. I probably have another month to wait. My last layaway payment is due soon, but I figure I'll be lucky to get her by the end of October. Small heads are normal for me. Most of my crew are fashion size with adult proportions.

 

Thank you, she's a beautiful colour in person. I tried to post photos but I'm new to using DOA so can't figure it out. I even opened a Flickr account so I could post them but I still can't get it to work! I usually do all my doll posts in the Facebook groups that I am part of :-)

 

Posting from Flickr is easy. Click to select your photo, then click on the curved arrow at the bottom right. If you hover over it, you'll see "Share photo". It leads to a screen that says "Share 1 photo to:" Select BBCode. Under the code itself there are various sizes. I use a medium size. Highlight the code in the blue box, then right click and choose copy. Come back here, click in your post, and right click-paste. Then delete everything in front of the first bracket-img-bracket, and everything after the second bracket-img-bracket. Keep both sets of bracket-img-bracket. When you hit "Post Reply" your picture should appear in your post. It sounds convoluted but it works; after a while it becomes second nature.

Don't click on the image icon in the menu line here. It worked with Photobucket when I used that but for some reason it doesn't work with Flickr.

 

Does it limit how many images you can upload to your album? And it doesn't mind hosting photos for posting on another site? (That was Photobucket's argument, that they didn't want to do third-party hosting.) I'll have to take a look at it.

I'm worried that Black Cherry hasn't billed me yet for the last installment on my layaway. She's a whole week later than last month's billing. I want to pay her so I can get my Meihua!

OMG! I'd never seen black cherry dolls before but they're so pretty! Another wish list doll oh no

 

I know, right? I discovered them when @Luna_and_Stelladolls posted a photo of her Meihua and it was love at first sight. Speaking of Meihua, mine is currently making the rounds of various distribution centers in and around Moscow. I wish she'd hop on a plane already.

 

Meihua is here! She arrived too late yesterday for me to start her faceup or take photos, so in the meantime I've been trying on wigs and looking through my stash for eyes. I'll need to restring her. Her arms are too tight and her legs are too loose, as others have mentioned. Her milk chocolate resin is lovely. I haven't set them side-by-side yet, but her color and shape remind me strongly of my Lillycat Amy. Maybe they'll be best buddies. A pair of shoes that I bought for Amy is a perfect fit for Meihua. If I can remember where I got them I'll buy a few more colors.

 

I have to make some adjustments to her dress but I finished her faceup and took photos. She's paler than I expected, which made it easier to paint her. Once I get her restrung to the point where she can stand unaided, I'll photograph her with similar dolls (Youpla and Lillycat). In the meantime, here is Charlotte.

And she's arrived! What a nice early Christmas present to myself. It's a little too cold for a faceup, but hopefully I can get one on her before the end of year... So far her name is Mellifera!

Jumping in here now that the new pre-order is ongoing! I already have a Milk Chocolate Eirlys at home already that I got in last years stock sale, which matched up pretty closely with my birthday... but now I'm also waiting on a Dark Tan Zeri - the only one I don't have (or ordered) is a Meihua, but I can't figure out which colour would be best for her if I ever were to buy her

Anyone else feel like they want all three girls but can't figure out which colours they want each one in? Or maybe some of you already own both Eirlys and Meihua and want to share some pictures of them?

 

I am definitely in the boat of wanting all three... I'm having a really hard time making the jump for reasons I can't super explain. I definitely think I would get each in a different color though. Only a couple more days to decide....

 

I preordered my first Black Cherry girl today. I got a Zeri in the dark tan shade. I’m very excited for her.

 

oh wow I love all the pictures in this thread I like BCD sculpts and body proportions a lot, but I can't manage to like their wrist and ankle joints I am still wanting to buy Bukkumi and Zephyr in pink and light blue colours (The OOAK special edition one) but in the Cookie size the wrist/ankle joint is so much more prominent they look so pretty tho !!

 

Hello! I just discovered Black Cherry dolls over the weekend and am really liking these dolls! Zeri looks adorable, as do the other heads.

@vermont chick haha fancy seeking you here! How does your black cherry msd look next to your raccoondoll type dolls? Does she appears like a tween or early teen ?

My Zeri came in the mail today. It was the quickest shipping from Russia that I’ve had in a long time! I got her in Dark Tan and this the closest photo I could get to what her skin tone looks like in person. She’s still a bit darker than this, though. She’s absolutely beautiful. I’m so in love with her..

Love how you designed her makeup. She looks fantastic - you really managed to accentuate the details of the sculpt in a beautiful way!

 

I bought a Black Cherry Bukkumi second hand. The seller shipped quickly, and all went well for the first four days she was travelling. Suddenly her tracking info stopped. She has now been in limbo for 21 days, and I’m worried she hands disappeared for good. She should have been here by now, and I have no idea where she might be. Her tracking indicated where her trip was starting and where it was to finish, but for those four days, it never showed me a location. It only said the package was on its way and scheduled to arrive on time. Extremely vague and worrying.

 

That sounds awful! Any news yet—and was it an in country shipment? We’re you able to get full insurance? I’m always nervous that my bigger packages will go off the radar, but I don’t think it happens too often.

 

My package finally started moving again, after we tried to open a claim. It’s coming to me in Canada from the US. USPS told the seller that my package was not in their system. I knew it was because Canada Post hadn’t received it yet. It randomly started tracking again two days ago. I hope to receive it by the end of the month, because I am moving. It was scary when I had no idea where my doll was.

 

They are wonderful! I am hoping to get more of Black Cherry’s sculpts

 

Do the Black Cherry MSD girls all take size 5/6 wigs? How do you feel about the way they look next to slim mini girls with more "common"-ly sized heads in 6/7, like Harucasting, Bimong, etc? I really want a tan Eirlys but I'm worried that she'll look out of proportion next to my Haru girls, my Souldoll Juno girl, my Unoa, and my Bimong girl.
