    2. Hi there. I went to the website and to the Yahoo group, but could not find much information. I wondered what the $180 includes? Also, it says the hotel convention rate is $109. What is this? Thank you so much!

    3. The convention is a three day event and includes many meals and the final banquet as well as access to the sales room before the public day. More details will be added to the website as the schedule is confirmed. BJDC was the first BJD convention in the US and continues to draw popular doll artists and vendors from around the globe. The hotel rate is for those who wish to stay where the events will occur. A convention doll, designed for this event, will be available for purchase. Keep watching the website!

    4. Okay. What is the public day? Is it less expensive?

    5. Is the schedule of events for the last BJDC still up? That would give someone an idea of what you get for the con membership.

The old pricing and timing could also help give people an idea... like for the Public Day, etc.

I went back in '12 and it was a great time. There was food included at least once a day, it seemed. I know I barely had time or need to buy a meal--only did that maybe once while I was there? There were several contests, great Sellers Room, panels and presentations, Banquet, etc.

    6. On Saturday the sales room is open to the public for a small admission-- just that, no other events. (Previously-- I assume this year will be the same.)

    7. Thanks Alewife. They actually informed me in the News section that the sales room will be free admission on Aug. 6th.

(I didn't mean to post all over the place, I just thought I was posting in the wrong place, and then I got responses in each spot)

    8. Free is even better. :)

    9. I did not see anything about children. Are children allowed and do they have to pay the full $180? I'd love to bring my daughter, who is 10 and just getting into the hobby, but I can't see paying $180 for her to go.

    10. We have had children that have come in the past. We have handled each case individually.

Thinking about going for the full 3 days. ....but not registering. Im sure the panels are great and many love the opportunity to have a crack at the contests, however I would be more interested in dialogue exchange and hanging out with doll people. But may just be setting myself up to being left in a quiet corner while others rush to take advantage of what they paid for. I attended All-con one year and bunked with an awesome couple who did nothing much else than cosplay and talk doll with me. Loved it! Are there groups of people there who like doing that? Sitting around conversing and just plain showing off what they collect? Only been there for the free sale day, might be nice to stick around longer.

    13. BJDC 2016 is registration is closing this Sunday June 12, 2016.
If you are interested in coming, please come register!

      See you there!

    14. I plan to go and will bring my glass eyes. A lot of us hang out in the lobby area with our dolls. We basically take over the hotel.
Would love to meet new doll people.

    15. Oooh, I wish I were going!!! I went back in '12... Wow... time flies. Maybe next year? Everyone, have a great time. It's a great con! :D

    16. Headed there for open Market Day today. Had a few of my items for sale in one of the booths. I hope people liked them and bought some.

    17. I also went on the free day for a brief time. I happened to be in Austin for something unrelated. I was the scared looking person with no doll. I think I met you, @ginarolo.

    18. @iamkathybrown: you weren't alone! I went on Saturday too, wandering around without a doll felt weird. But my Latidolls are all so tiny they disappear next to the big dolls anyway. Hahaha. Didn't really find much but was happy to buy ED eyes in person without having to wait. Woo!! Does anyone know why Doll Peddlar doesn't attend the event anymore? I always found tons of stuff at her booth :(

    19. I was wondering the same thing about the Doll Peddlar.
