      Okay, here are the finalists for you to vote on. Remember that the end result to this voting may not be the final winner. This is basically another way to get everyone to express their opinion.

      My art friends and I discussed many things, and came up with this finalist. The finalists get the first casted doll out of the lot. When dolls are completed, I will send them in for aproval to be sold in the market. They will also be up on my website Ma Petite Amour.



      »» Side Note:

      I felt bad after seeing everyone’s effort put into their art. So, I decided (to ease my mind), if anyone who likes their design well enough, and had entered it into this contest but didn' win, I’ll make their design for just around $100, about the cost of all the materials alone. This is for MSD sized only.

      The only thing is I will be selling copies to pay for the time I put in (so these dolls will not be one of a kind). I will only be taking 3 other dolls. Other dolls will not be made until after Winning dolls are completed. This way, you can have the opportunity to judge rather you like my style of art or not, before making such a comitment.

      I had something important brought to my attention yesturday. The design maybe someone else’s, but the sculpture is all mine. The sculpture will be copyrighted to my name. Any reproduction of the sculpture, by *anyone* other than myself, will be handled legally. It is within my right, and I am seriously sorry if this offends anyone. :sweat It must be said though.

      OMG, I didn’t realize the mods let this thread through. I was getting ready to throw in the towel and label the idea as a lost cause… and try again later. :|

      Okay, to answer all your wonderful questions. :)

      You can post as many entries as you want - the more the merrier, right? I’ll like them posted in the thread so others may look at them as well, and for them to get ready to vote on them in April. I would also like to post them in my website, as soon as the site is up.

      Please name your doll designs! I have a heard time naime things, so if left to me, it'll probably come out with a retarded name. Or, if you like, we can leave the public to name the ending doll.

      Drawing wise: I would like them in the nude… with a bit of a censor if you will. (X_x);; Just don’t draw that area, ne?

      Coloring and sketchings are fantastic. After all, it's the face and form that I'm looking at. Get creative. Make the doll do something or another.

      Or not, I am mosly just looking for shape.

    10. i had to bust up laughing when u said u were looking forward to drawing that part LOL But ur right. It seems alot of the time, the realism is emphasized on the face, but not on some of the 'hidden' area's of the body. Personally, i'd love to see a doll that could wear a bathing suit, and not look like her butt is on backwards because of the ball joints of her pelvis LOL

    16. Perfect! The 1/4 sized design is great. I was going to let everyone deside if they want it to be 1/4 or 1/3.

      The picture doesn't have to be all that big though. I'll just be printing the picture up off on normal 11x8 paper and working off it. Dementions will be great though, but not all that importatan (It just makes it easier on me XP).

    17. I just thought this up! If you want to do an actual size drawing on a large sheet of paper, you can mail it to me if you like. I can sculpt the doll on top of it, after laminating it of course.

      This afternoon, I shall have all the supplies needed to make the doll. ^_^;; At least once.

    27. If you need help drawing the human body, one of the best books I know of is from Giovanni Civardi called "Drawing the Human Body: An Anatomical Guide." It has referances to both the female and male bodies. I like it best cause it is the only anatomical guide that is done tastfuly. Meaning, no pictures of real people, only the sketches. <3

      He also has books dedicaged to only the female or male bodies aswell. XP

      Okay, I edited this little design thing. I realized I'll need some sort of model if I were to do an SD. If I can find someone in my neighborhood, that will let me check out their doll (that sounds so wrong), then I’ll do it. But I don’t believe that will happen. =_= ;;

      So I set that aside the SD doll molding for next year, after I buy him/her a model. XP

    33. Well, I decided I'd give this a go and I've got one for you! Cranked it out in a few hours, Am very proud of myself. Especially the profile. Side views are very hard for me so this is good practice. (I gave her undies so that nothing bad would be showing)

      I decided to try a half dragon girl. as such, her hands have claws and her feet are more like a dragons than a humans. The wings I guess would be attached by magnets so they are removable and I gave her large pointed ears because I like them ^_^. Guess she's half dragon half elf.

      As for this girls name, I've decided to name her Tiam. I'm sorry I don't have any measurements to go with her, but I think she'd be on the larger side of MSD. (Wow...I'm new to this) Anyway, Hope you like her!

    49. Questions!

      Who would like this to be split to two sections, with two winners? One for a girl and one for a boy... It would only take me a little over a week to sculpt each, but I'll be doing this all year anyway, so I'll still get them both done before the end of the year. :)

      Also, Who would like more time to finish their designs? I've been thinking about extending the due date untill the end of April, but I wanted to give everyone the option to chose before I go ahead and change things.

      I was thinking again. XD
      I wanted to know what everyone would think about the structure of this contest, and what *you* would change.

      Also, I wanted to know a few other things:

      1.) This is about the winners: I wanted to know what people would think about &#8220;Second and Third&#8221; place winners. Should there be ones? I thought this was an interesting though, but then I realized that there weren&#8217;t enough entries thus far for this. Also, what would be the prize? Would it take away from the first place winners?

      2.) What if I made a list? Okay, so I be you&#8217;re wondering, &#8220;WTF is this girl talking about?&#8221; So here is what my thoughts were with this. This idea developed from the 1st question (see #1). Instead of winners what if I made this into a list? The first place winners will get their dolls, but then the 2nd and 3rd place winners will get their doll on a list on Doll to be Made Next.

      Does this make since? No? Okay, so let me clarify.

      Everyone places their entries. Then we all vote and chose on which girl and then which boy we like best. Thus, we have a boy and girl 1st place winners. But then there are the 2nd and 3rd place winners (the next highest votes and choices). These will be put in a list. That way they could get a doll too, but it will not be as fast as the first place winners.

      But! This will make 6 dolls I&#8217;ll have to make within the year, and I am afraid I&#8217;ll see this and start rushing the sculpting of the doll. That would not be good for a number of reasons. So I thought, &#8216;What if I made the 2nd and 3rd place winners a May be Sculpted list?’ That way, I may sculpt them or I may not.

      But! I wouldn&#8217;t like those 2nd and 3rd place winners to think they got jipped when I wasn&#8217;t able to get to their doll.

      But! Then, if I do not get to the doll this year, I can finish it next year. I would have something to do while I start a second Design Contest for SD-sized dolls.

    59. I have a question, I'm very interested in participating in this contest, but I'd like to draw joints in if possible. I know you've said that you have your own jointing ideas... but I would feel like my sketch wouldn't be complete without the joints. Is that alright?

      :Edit: Also, on the list idea, I think that things would be easiest for you if you kept the winners to just 1st place. If you decide to have a male and female winner (which is already a LOT of work) adding on even a may be sculpted list would put a lot of pressure on you. But then again I don't know how fast you work, some artists are like crazy machines and can crank out works in very little time, but others (like me) take huge ammounts of time to complete their work. I think it should all depend on what you think you're capable of. <3
