20–39cm Dolls Bimong Narae Arrives!

In September of last year, when I was first got into this hobby, the main thing I was looking for was good poseability. I really wanted a doll that could be arranged in lots of interesting ways but I could also use as drawing reference, since I have a hard time coming up with poses in my head. I'd already ordered and received my first doll when I stumbled on Bimong's work, and he'd just wrapped up an order period, so I was kind of bummed.

But then!! In December, I saw he'd put a bunch of Chuu fullsets on instagram. I wasn't really interested in her, but loved the 38cm with 2 joints, since I found 40cm+ bodies on the verge of unwieldiness, and really liked the more central torso joint, in addition to the bust joint. So I reached out to him asking if he thought he'd have fullsets available in the future with the head I wanted--the N40s--and he responded almost right away saying he had one N40s head left and could make it a fullset. Quickest purchase I ever made haha. And after about a month and a half's wait, she's finally arrived!



She came with some goodies too! Very generous



And her box! It's really such a fancy box haha. Along with an additional head I ordered at the last possible minute.

And free at last! All her hands and feet come on and off really easily with the magnets, and she poses really really nicely. Also, she was only available in the new normal color, and I wasn't sure how I'd feel about it at first (would've preferred a tan resin) but she's really very lovely. She's the first doll I've gotten with seamlines too, but I genuinely barely notice them. Also, I like the tooth her resin has. It's very pleasant in a way that's different from the other two dolls I have.



I really like that she can hold much more subtle poses than the other dolls I've manipulated. They'd be kicking all over the place if I tried some of this haha. I was also able to stand her on one leg briefly, but found it a little precarious lol. It can for sure be done though.


As for the other head....


Looks like there was an accident, haha! He sent me the regular N404 14mm head instead of the SM version that I ordered--it's even marked SM in the COA. Hopefully he still has the SM head and it wasn't switched with someone else who ordered the regular head, but I'll contact him to find out. I'm a little bummed about this, since I really like the SM head and actually had plans for it (which was a shocker, since I haven't been able to assign personalities to my other two dolls) but everything else is pretty much perfect so I'm sure I'll live lol.

Anyway, I'm so glad I managed to get her. As far as I'm concerned, her body is basically ideal. The location and structure of her joints are both attractive and natural, and engineered really well--you can tell Bimong puts a lot of care into his dolls. Maybe I'll snag another one of these days, but for now I couldn't be happier
