Bikini Pattern?

    1. Does anyone know where I could find a bikini pattern for DD/SD13? I'm sure I could use a pantie pattern for the bottoms, but I can't seem to find a bikini/bra pattern.

      My mom and I did attempt a bikini top pattern, though as I started sewing it my sewing machine got stuck so I had to cease all sewing. >.<

      Also, would anyone know how I could make a mesh long sleeve top? Would it be any harder than making a long sleeve top with regular fabric?

    2. What kind of bikini top? At its simplest you could make two triangles, hem two sides of each and fold the third side into a casing. Run a cord through the casing of each to wrap around and tie under the breasts. Stitch cord to the remaining free points to tie around the neck. Quickie string bikini!

      Mesh is a bit tricky to work with. For fabrics like that I usually iron on a water-soluble stabilizer and then cut out the pieces and sew them. Dunk the whole thing in water, pull the stabilizer away and voila!

    6. I've been trying to reduce the patterns at Runo's Hanty site (http://www.max.hi-ho.ne.jp/hotaru/panty/) to make some nice undies for my doll, Naoki. Specifically, I'm trying:

      Brassiere: http://www.max.hi-ho.ne.jp/hotaru/panty/brassiere.html
      Lace Panties: http://www.max.hi-ho.ne.jp/hotaru/panty/lacy.html

      I'm making them out of a pair of striped socks. ^_^; Sadly, I don't have any matching ribbon so I can't finish them. (I was going to use ribbon for the straps, waistband, and edges.) When I finish them up, I'll post pictures.

      These patterns would work well for string bikinis, too. The site also has patterns/instructions for making boxer shorts and men's thongs. :oops:
