Belated hello everyone!

Aug 6, 2025

    1. Hi guys! I'm not exactly new to dolls or Den of Angels (joined 2 yrs ago) but I haven't been able to acquire a BJD until now, despite being interested in them for a while. I'm currently in the excrutiating wait for my first doll (Ringdoll Anubis 1/4 in tan). I hope to expand my collection with larger dolls as they seem to appeal to me more, but that will have to wait for now. I've been having fun looking at all the threads here during this waiting period, and I'd like to make new friends in this hobby eventually. I also plan to start sewing doll clothes and I wonder if that could be something I can share with others in the community later on (I'm thinking custom outfits but it might be too ambitious).
This was a long intro but if anyone has a Anubis they're willing to share in the comments that would be lovely to satiate my impatientience

      Thanks!,
      Eli

    2. Hello and welcome to DoA! The wait for the first doll is pretty excruciating but once it arrives, it opens so many possibilities. So congrats on your first doll once it arrives to you!

You can totally share your BJD sewing project journeys on DoA. We are a pretty welcoming community with a lot of experienced crafters and seamstresses/tailors that you can ask questions from, especially if you are thinking about entering into the world of making custom pieces. Be aware that sewing clothing for BJDs is usually a higher skillset than sewing for humans, but once you gain that skillset you will have a whole lot of choices opened up to you. Just be sure to stick to the DoA rules and you should be fine.

Good luck and welcome to DoA!:dance

    3. The first wait is the hardest *_* But the most exciting once he arrives! I always love to see more project journals and photos of handmade outfits! The monthly sewing round here are great for sparking creativity and motivation :chibi

    4. thank you! I have a lot of experience in sewing for doll sizes and human sizes already so I'm hoping it will be an easier transition. I'll definitely continue scouring the resources here as well :)
