Be With You ... 28cm Baby Doll ... Part 2

I just bought a Dollsbe Paprika second hand, and I am super excited!
I want to do some shopping for her until she arrives, and was wondering if anyone has suggestions for sites or shops that sell clothes that fit?
I would love to get her some eyes as well, and wondered what eye size looks the best, and if anyone have any shop recommandations?

Has anyone here made any hybrids? I wanted to show everyone my little hybrid.

First a story: I've had a dollsbe mango head for almost a year and had previously tried two different bodies on her to no avail. The resinsoul was much too slim and the neck gap was almost 2cm in difference. I didn't know about neck gap differences back then. >.< Then came an old Volks body that I found secondhand. It was supposed to be NS, and the previous owner said it was probably yellowed but had nothing to compare it to. I didn't mind, because Dollsbe NS is very creamy anyways. That was another dud because it wasn't yellowed at all, it was pink! I was so sad.

I was going to sell my mango head after the whole ordeal and even had her listed on the MP. One day while browsing I found an old pipos PO-11 body with the 3-part torso for sale at a good price and I thought why not try once more. I'm very happy to say that my little girl finally found her forever body!

The resin match is about 95%, which is more than I could ask for. Plus this body can wear the same size as a littlefee, so measurements are easier.

 

Mari is adorable and so is her little dress. Did you make it? She's so cutes!!!! It's good to know what works for a hybrid body and find that 3 part torsos are very nice. Congrats on your new girl!!!

Her dress is actually from an Etsy seller called GrammysCupboard. She makes amazingly cute YoSD and similar sized clothing.

I'm so happy that I found a body for her. She's my first hybrid, and I didn't know what I was getting into at first because of all the company size differences. I've heard that Dollsbe heads can fit on littlefee bodies, but have yet to see one and couldn't find a littlefee body at a good price. >.< I'm very happy with this Pipos body though! It's single-jointed, but I can't complain because it's a tiny. (I'd complain a lot if it was a mini, haha.)

Your smiling Kiwi is adorable! Did you ever decide on a name for him?

 

Why, thank you. I agree that Smiling Kiwi is adorable. I haven’t yet settled on a name but I’m thinking about Clinton after the neighbor boy that was my play pal most often during my own early childhood. Smiling Cherry should be on his way home from Canada this weekend as I have paid all his immigration fees and adoption costs. I’m trying to decide on wigs for my boys right now.

All my human child dolls smile.

Thanks for telling me about the Etsy seller, it’s so tempting! I’ve vowed to learn to sew after I bought a high end sewing machine.... but some offerings are hard to resist. I will at least have to look. Tee hee.

@Miss-Rose As far as I can tell, my doll can wear regular yosd clothes. There's an etsy shop named nubanded that I like.

 

I keep considering this sculpt, because he looks so grumpy. Has anyone else seen this sculpt? He's so cute!

Hi! Long time I didn't show my boy here. Now he has new eyes and pullover. This pullover is my first sewing experiment in yosd size and it was a present for Garlic on Christmas.

 

Garlic looks very pleased with his present!

My friend and I traded dolls a couple weeks ago and I got to bring home this sweet little potato, who I've named Macadamia I love his big bobblehead and pouty face! Yos are such a fun size, especially compared to MSDs.

The open mouthed kids aren't really my thing, but as someone who already had a bodiless head from YG, I wonder if the bodies will go on sale sometime during this event so that these free heads can have homes? That would be awesome.

I’m amused by sense of humor he seems to have with his sculpts. Very unique. I love Cranberry. Considering getting her.

 

Oh Macadamia is just adorable!!!! I just took my 12 little ones out of their boxes and ordered some new wigs - unfortunately I can't post photos any longer since photobucket went haywire, but I love looking at everyone else's photos. Love Macadamia's pouty expression - is that a default face up? I really like it.

Thanks Nancy - I just went to see if my old photos are showing in the thread and they are. I may have to start taking pictures again once their new wigs arrive. Wish my photography skills were better though.

 

Oh, wow...... it was quiet for awhile here. I'm so happy to learn the older photos are back! That's great!

I'm going to try to snag a photo or two to share this weekend. I've had bad weather, so the lighting here is incredibly poor! That's cool that new sculpts are available..... I'll be watching the Market Place later for more smiling kids!

I absolutely would order one if I had the funds. Had a blizzard of bad luck lately, I had to wipe out my doll savings fund. That's okay. I have plenty of dolls and don't really need anymore.... but if I could, I certainly would order every smiling YOSD I could get my hands on.

In the meantime, here are my Be With You boys in some new sweaters made my another member here on DoA. We've been trading handmade items.

 

I really like Peach also, but no funds here either and too close to Christmas. Love how you have your kiwi styled, she is adorable.

I like happy dolls too and can relate to lack of dolly funds. The boys sweaters look great and warm. What wig do you have on your kiwi? - it really suits him

 

@Merlin's Mom, I believe it's Joey by Monique's Gold line. It was a challenge to find wigs for these little guys.

 

I totally agree about the wigs - finding ones that work and look like the promo photos is the biggest problem I have with this hobby.

 

Facets by Marcia usually has a good selection of smaller sized wigs.

I got to see someone's Paprika this weekend. What a beautiful sculpt! It's so hard to find detailed Yo-sized bodies.

Does anyone know if Luts Honey Delf clothes fit these sweeties? Mine are now requesting clothes and the measurements are pretty close, but wondering if anyone has tried any of their outfits.

Very quite here. Does anyone have an owner picture of Cabbage? If so I would love to see a photo - is she as grumpy as she looks in the promo photos?

 

I received the wigs I ordered from Hannasu and I am very pleased with them. I think these are the first wigs I have ordered that actually look like the photos when you receive them. The ones I ordered are the LM ones. I wish I could show photos, but unfortunately can't. I will definitely order from the again.

 

@Merlin's Mom do you have a link? I love to see small wigs, they seem much more limited in styles than the 7/8 or 8/9 sizes.

Nancy beat me to it - they have a number of wigs in 6/7, but some are out of stock. The good thing is if there is one you really like you can pre-order it and they will make it for you. They really are mainly girl wigs though.

I'm pretty sure the silicone isn't new. The smaller dolls have it in their shoulders and upper torso joint.

 

I found some owner pics doing a google search. Is it OK to post a link to what I found? And has anyone found her measurements? All I can find is height, wig and eye size.
