This is just for fun. What kinds of materials and tools would/do you love to purchase? This is for making the prototype doll and/or a finished doll, no materials for molding making or casting. (Eye-making and Wig-crafting are ok!) Rules to the game: ~ One post per item. ~ No double posting! (If you have to post another item you must wait for someone else to post) ~ Bonus points for a link to the item. You may explain why you like use the item, pro/cons ect.
Dentist tools. I've recently dicovered that medical scalpels are compatible with x-acto knife bases. Pros: They're cheaper than hobby-supplies, come in many shapes and quite sturdy. Cons: Having to explain yourself everytime you go to the dentist-supplies shops.
Thick Crafting/Floral Foam- It's a good way of carving out the basic shape of the doll before adding clay and sculpting details. Pros: It makes the prototype doll light weight and quicker to make. Cons: If you press too hard on it (before or after covering w/clay) could cause the foam to compress. EX: https://www.dollartree.com/gentle-grip-green-foam-floral-blocks-4-piece/104754
Apoxie Sculpt A lot of doll makers and modders use it and it acts like sculpey, but dries like air dry clay. Sadly, its pretty expensive, and you don't get much.
