I’m working on making Shinobu Oshino and Hachikuji Mayoi from the Monogatari series, who are also drawn by my favorite artist Watanabe Akio ,…..as 30cm dolls~ I’ll post all my progress making their outfits, styling wigs, and doing their faceups here~ I’m buying what I can buy from Taobao! I haven’t been able to find shoes for either girl, or shinobus hats or goggles, so if anyone has recommendations give ‘em here! I really didn’t think 1/6 size white sandals would be this hard to find but.. they are.
the picture link is broken ><);;; which dolls are you planning on for the base? with the white sandles, if you got some cardboard and ribbon, it might be easier to make them for the small size.
I’ll try linking a different picture For the bases of the dolls, since it’s my first try and I’m experimenting on them, I chose some cheap ones I found on Taobao, one is called Fantasy Angel Rui, but I can’t remember the name of the other at the moment. Although I haven’t completely decided on the second one since I really want an open mouth, I’m still searching a bit before I decide to try and drill a mouth into a resin head wwww Im surprised there’s not many shoes for 1/6 dolls! I am considering making some myself, maybe out of corc or something
*Photo Heavy post* Heres the progress steps of Shinobus faceup! Shes my first faceup/body blushing, and although its not perfect im actually really happy with it!! Theres tons of things about it I would change, and maybe SOMEDAY I will, but for now this is good I forgot to take a before photo of the plain head. This is after light sketching with the water color, and I think 2 layers of paint and the first basebloushing. I kept erasing and redoing her eyebrow to match eachother, this is as close as I could get it. Slowly going into darker paint and more blushing into the shaddows. I wasnt liking how the eyelids were looking, I wanted them to be light but couldnt get the color on smooth TT-TT Telling myself "trust the process" Time for the dark lines, really the make or break time I wish Id used a red brown instead for the mouth and sides of the eyes. I tried adding a ton of red powder into the eye corners but it didnt tint it at all in the end AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAND FINALLY after hours of nervously painting and wiping...} I love her little lips, I didnt want her to look sad so I tried to give her a little smile. I didnt realize too late that I should have colored the inside of the upper lid too.....;u; and the eyelids, I still couldnt get the light part smooth. As much as I tried, I have NO CLUE how faceup artists get a gradient on the lashes!!!
