Why does it say one is a delf?

"** is the third boy-type delf doll from G&G.

It also looks a lot like Cerberus Project Kid Delf Ani, and that page is practically word for word what Luts has on their doll sale pages.

I realize this is the larger doll forum but since I haven't seen this company brought up in another place..

 

i asked about them awhile back in the buying/shipping forum. i too am interested in their quality.

The 60cm girls don't look like anything special, very shapeless body and heads they also don't look very posable too, maybe good as custom works base. The 40 cm girl looks cute and are very cheap, I'm tempted.

How come there are just the dolls and the other categories are empty?

 

They're part of that recent crop of low-priced dolls from China. (Which, do I ever love!)

 

I really do like the girl Sky head, and hope they improve the bodies. The hips on the girl body are way too low. Souldoll and Soom have both done unfinished 60cm kit sales for $390, so $350 for a doll with a funky body isn't much of a bargain.

I'd also like to know why they pasted the text from El's sales page onto their mini boy page.

 

Well I posted on Luts' Q & A about it and now they're aware of the problem, so I guess it's up to them to give a warning about this company or not.

 

It's possible that they just coppied the text because they don't really speak English. This has happened before.

The faces are pretty cute, but I agree that the female body is...icky. So shapeless and blah.

Except for it being one piece instead of two, the hip structure on the 1/3 girl looks like the Dollshe Afghana hip, very slender and mannish.

 

Wow o.o I hope their quality is ok and that they really did just c&p due to lack of english skills... and that text is the extent of their copying... cuz I think their mini sized kids are pretty cute *3*.

Whoever the face-up artist is too is pretty good *3*

 

oh lordy... one of those girls is PERFECT for a doll i've always wanted to make... i wonder if the head would go with the dollzone body? that would be great.

i really like the sky doll but right now i'm not really sure if i can get another BJD (parents not money issue) also i'm saving for an El. If anyone can convince me otherwise then i'll luv to hear more about these dolls! (Aibo Angel and B&G should not realise gorgeous 1/3 boys that i would luv to buy!)

The B&G bodies, which are less expensive and match some other resins (the white matches Luts white) have been popular on this board with people looking for bodies for floating heads. I have just ordered mine so won't have it for a while and can't tell you about it, but I'm assuming it will be a decent quality less-expensive body based on what others have reported.

 

I have freya and I plan on getting sandra in the near future. I love freya! She could stand right out of the box, the joints were really nice... I feel that B&G are excellent quality dolls!

And you can't got wrong with Rennaisancefashion (the ebay seller). he communicates excellently and ships very fast. there is a website you can order from, but I would recommend going through ebay.

 

I have ordered other dolls off Renaissancefashion he is perfect.

I am pondering my next doll and have been seeing some very cool looking Elf dolls on ebay from Renaissancefashion for B&G dolls... but it only shows the face and there are no body shots..anyone have one of these elf dolls or can tell me what you think overall of the resin, body sculpting etc...?

 

I just got my Afra the other day, his arrival pics are in the opening/arrival thread. His is white skinned. Overall his coloring matches the later CP BW batches, but not the new ones which are snow white. He matches AoD BW as well. His hands have a lovely sculpt to them and he stands out of the box right on carpeting. He wasn't as skinny as I thought he would be and has a nice bit of musculatur to his body, granted its not like AoD, Dollzone, etc. who make more pronounced muscles. He is however, slightly more muscular than say volks SD13 and Luts 60cm boy bodies.

I went to your box opening thread and he does look pretty nice...did you get to choose if you wanted a boy or girl...but what I thought was odd is I went to the site that is listed on the front of the box in one pic you showed www.bgdolls.com and it went to someone else's site...they don't have their own site?

 

Because I have no life, and spend to much time on DoA (not to mention I have my eye on a B&G Sandra....)

I think it's rather fishy that the English site is hosted on Geocities, of all places.

Nonetheless, Hera is beautiful. I think I'm going to have to add her to my list.

 

I ordered from that site and it's perfectly fine. Layla-mi probably doesn't want to have to pay for more domain space, so I don't see a problem with a site on Geocities. As long as the service and products are good, then everything is fine, in my book.


I would help in describing the new body, but I have the old SD boy body. If it's worth anything, the old body is fantastic. It poses right out of the box and has just the right amount of detail to make me happy.

 

I sent Layla-mi a Pm asking a question and haven't heard back even though she has been on several times since then..I am re thinking about ordering from her, since she has pretty much ignored me.

 

I agree, I disliked the geocities thing at first, but like Aiko-chan, I just assumed she didn't want to pay more for a domain space when she is simply the English rep for the company.

 

Bumping, because I'm curious to hear more testimonies from folks who have B&G's - most notably Sky. I'm on the fence between him and DollZone's Megi-2. Thoughts? Rants?

Alright here it is. My first doll was a VOLKS and my second doll was a B&G Rin (who is not so popular). And I am very happy with it. The resin quality is great and I love the type two body. So muscular without being over done. I am very picky when it comes to the dolls that I buy and I love my Rin B&G Doll.

 

I just noticed the other day that Denver Doll is also selling B&G dolls now. I've ordered from DD in the past, and they are *really* great about answering questions. That's where I"m ordering my Afra (and maybe Saphiria as well), because of the excellent omminucation and service... and the layaway option

Thanks Orca for the bump! I was hoping to find a thread like this. I was a little worried about the Geocities thing too, but I also assumed she didn't have the money for basically an English version of her website.

Also, thanks to Kaiser-Serena for the Rin review! I'm hoping to get mine soon.

I've been peppering DD (Shannon and Paula) with ordering questions, and they've been incredibly helpful (and quick with the replies). I'm still not sure if I'll get Rin from DD or B&G directly. But I know I'll be putting in an "accessories" order with DD.

 

I absolutely love the B&G boy body, i have the second one. It poses so nice and it's so slender, it definatly makes for a younger looking 60cm doll. Mine looks like a teen around 17/18 at most.

The colour is quite peachy and deep aswell~ It has a slight pink tone to its yellow which is really nice, and the hands are so nice too!

 

I also noticed yesterday that DD added B&G to their store. I'm sure when the time comes, they could answer this question, but I wonder if they have them in stock like their other dolls or if they do orders like a broker? I did see, though, that their price is higher than the quoted price on (I believe Layla's?) ebay and that's still without face-up. As every penny counts for me, I'd like to know why.

Are the new boy bodies only on the newer molds, or do all the molds come with the new body now?

 

Shannon told me they won't have any B&G dolls until October-ish (8 weeks from yesterday). When I asked about the eyes (can I pick the color) she said she really doesn't know what they'll send, so she can't specify the color. I'm guessing they just order a bunch of dolls.

I'm also curious about the face-up price. I thought B&G was still doing their free face-up/outfit event?

 

I believe DD has *in stock* on the items that are. B&G has said there having a price rise, the exact answer is in the B&G waiting room thread somewhere. Someone contacted DD and posted the reply.

As far as the bodys go you can order any head on any body, only the elves come by default with type2 bodys from what ive seen.

Interestingly enough the type2 girls body is out but no doll comes with it. (though you can request it)

 

I've got B&G Natalia (Rin's twin) and really like her. She seems sturdy and poses well.

On the ebay sales they are still doing free eyes and outfit or shoes.

 

I noticed the same thing. I'm sure one of the ladies at DDE could answer your question better, but I do know that for a lot of companies, DDE's price is higher. I had asked if they were going to carry Doll Factory and Shannon told me they weren't because they didn't make enough of a reasonable profit selling them. Maybe, in order to make a profit on the B&G dolls, they had to increase the price. It still might be less expensive considering you don't have to pay for EMS.

 

Just FYI, I emailed DD about the body types. DD should be getting dolls with the new body type, as they were ordered after August 15th.

 

That's very true (re: shipping). I have a local friend who does really good face-ups, so to save more cash I'd probably order without one.

Now I just have to decide ultimately who do I choose: Sky, or DZ's Megi-2 ::torn::

 

I want to get a 60cm B&G rin, and I was wondering how they fit in your arms? Is B&G comfortable to hold? Is it heavy in any way so if you walk around with him with you get tired?

I'm about 5 foot 6, with limited to zero upper body strength. One of my 60cm boys in my arms is fine, weight wise (and I still have a free arm). I usually put them in a sitting position craddled in one arm. No heavier than a medium sized well filled purse. I wouldn't get tired of holding him unless I had a bunch of other things to carry as well.

I just have a question for B&G 1/3 doll owners here, I can't get around the sizes of my boy... has anyone got the sizes of his head(wigsize) and eyes? in inches/mm?
On my own I figured the head was 10 inches... is this about right? And if so, where do you buy wigs in this size o_O?

 

I have an afra boy. For wigs I'd say 8-9. I bought a luts wig (8.5-9.5) and slid right off. My heise wig 8-9 fits perfectly. 8-9 size is pretty common so everyone pretty much sells them.

 

Oohhh thanks for the fast reply ^^ That's good news! I may be able to even order the DOT(8-8,5) or DOI(9) wigs from Dream of Doll =3 I love those.

Now to find cool bright green 20mm eyes...

 

DOT wigs will NOT fit a B&G! I found this out the hard way. I bought a really nice blond wavy wig and it is like half an inch too small. I can't get it around Freya's head.

volks wigs fit, but are a little floppy and require tape/velcro. I've heard lutz wigs fit excellently.

As for eyes, the website and eBay listing claim that the dolls all come with 20mm eyes, but when I got my Freya, I measured the eyes and they are only 18mm. I also have put a set of 16mm ED eyes in her for a more serious look (though I have since put her original eyes back in since then). I think 18mm fit better.
