[Australia] SMASH! 2 Aug - BJD events! - updated 24th July

    1. SMASH! 2008

      SMASH!, the Sydney Manga and Anime Show is back this year in 2008, 2nd August with gusto! This year, we will see more of the BJD community in Sydney, Australia.

      Date: Saturday, August 2nd 2008
      Opening hours: 10am - 8pm.
      Venue: Roundhouse@UNSW

      If you haven't seen the meetup discussion, pre-registrations have closed but don't fret, ticket prices are as follows:
      * $15 for at the door entry
      * FREE for children under 7 years old (conditions may change on the day)


      EVENTS

      Dollfie Photography Competition
      Be judged by our guest judges, Hiritai and Rattimoth of BJDOzCon! Check out the Competition Rules here! Our prizes are sponsored by Very Berry.

      Dollfie Panel
      Come and learn from our guest speakers on their techniques with relation to photography, faceup, clothing and more! Special guest panelists are Hiritai, and Krishna.

      Dollfie Faceup Workshop
      Our guest speaker, Onegreyelephant, will provide tips and tricks on her faceups.

      Dollfie Display
      2 tables will be provided by Smash! for all Ball-jointed Doll owners to showcase their beloved resin families. Because this venue will be accessible by the general public, please note the following guidelines:
      • All bjds are required to be decently clothed (no nudity) as Smash! is a family-friendly convention.
      • Explicit poses of sexual or violent nature are heavily discouraged as well.
      • Please be very careful with your bjds and ensure they are in care of someone you can trust if you have to leave the display table. Smash! is not responsible for any liabilities incurred during the display of your bjds.
      • If you notice anyone acting suspiciously around the display table, please inform any Smash! personnel in sight immediately and discretely.

    17. krisome: Thank you for delivering a great panel! It was a good introduction on clothing for the various sized dolls. ^___^ I loved the dresses and particularly the work-in-progress one... oh and the patchwork quilt is fascinating too. :3

    19. I spent most of the day hanging out in the BJD area, and that was the only reason I enjoyed smash so much. Everyone I talked to was lovely and your dolls are beautiful (or handsome).

      Massive thanks to anybody who let me touch and play with their dolls too. Smash was the first time I've seen BJDs IRL, so it was much appreciated :aheartbea

      It's not like I wasn't already convinced about buying my first doll, but after seeing how darling they really are.... well I'm more eager than ever to get mine.

    20. angel38: T_T just randomly approach anyone who has a dollfie... that's how we learn who's who... (and then forget their names later on again... XD) I was away from table mostly but I wish I could've met everyone else who went!

      talto: I'm glad you enjoyed the event! =) There will be another meetup sometime in Sydney, I'm sure - so it may help you decide if you still haven't taken that first step. ^^
