Ahem.
Doll designs are becoming increasingly diverse - humanoid animals, monsters, robots etc etc. But one demographic hasnt been dollified yet - that's right, old people!
Perhaps elderly dolls wont be so popular you say, well maybe not but we can certainly corner the market if we start producing wrinkly resin now!
Of course, an old doll might not appear so dynamic and appealing to the BJD market so I've combined my granny doll with a fantasy element and created... The Demon Geriatric!

Because horns and wings make everything cool, right!?

This sounds like fun! I'll try it out and come back with something later.

What about the typical Gray little black eyed alien. I`ve never heard of an alien bjd before. And to be honest I would have loved to have a little gray big eyed alien.

Oooo...now I have to include an old concept of mine for an art doll here, my Anthrotroid ...and he's a fellow who's been with me since '97...when my only knowledge of BJDs were art dolls and traditional ball jointed dolls and puppets. Be back shortly.

 

To be fair to the hopes and aspirations of my younger self who actually dreamed many times of turning this fellow into a ball-jointed reality I couldn't not introduce A.R.T.H.R.O.T.R.O.I.D. - the Synthetically Designed Bipedal Anthropod. I used to doodle him a lot in various forms in my late teens and in my early 20s actually tried turning him into an art doll but didn't have the skills to achieve what I wanted....so who knows, one day given the time you may actually see this guy in resin form out of respect for my younger self:-


I'd intended for him to be completely jointed, fingers included and had wanted to cast him in various forms - from opaque resin with something of a texture between crocodile and sea urchin to an electric blue semi translucent resin version embedded with optic fibre "veins" + a central red resin "heart" from which the main light source would originate that would run though the optic cable.

 

Ok, and just for fun, as one big fan of felines in all forms... here's a few weird fantasy-style anthro heads. These pics have been around since about 2001, much like the ones above ...so very much pre-avatar if you were wondering about the influences.

I love looking at the designs that have appeared here so far, but I am looking forward to a design that is very, very weird and very, very beautiful (in human terms) at the same time!

My dream-doll will be a mermaid. But not with a tail in fabric or jointed, but with a golden (silicone) tail that really moves as a real mermaid do. She will have mermaid-ears and webbed hands. Her eyes will be a silvery blue and her hair will be very long, silvery blond and as soft as silk. She comes with a shell-top and jewels also made from shells.

 

While I was writing my post, JenKat's came in. That's what I am talking about! Any ideas for the rest of the body, JenKat?

Also, I think the little kirin's wet nurse from the The Twelve Kingdoms, who was a combination of woman, tiger, and snake would be a wonderful!

Mine is a human horse centaur with wings. Her horse body is a magnificant glossy black with a white wings and tail and white feathered hooves. Her human part is a muscular female cat like creature with pale white flesh and ravenblack hair. She has small bare breasts. There is a spiny crest up her spine like that of a seahorse that can fold against her back when she is at peace. Her eyes are black without a pupil and long silver lashes. Her human arms have a crest that runs the length of them and she has three fingers on each hand.

As I couldn't find any naga dolls out there I decided to make one myself, hehe ^_^;



Measurements: The upper body is MSD sized, the lower half can vary in length, depending on how many tail parts you want to add.
