    1. It was 7 years ago today that DoA opened its doors as a phpbb forum. Since then, we have moved to vBulletin software, outgrown our server 5 or 6 times, and gone from fewer than 100 active members to over 10,000! It's been a crazy ride and we're so happy to have had all of you with us. :aheartbea

      Today is Staff Appreciation Day. :) We have worked very hard this last year to improve the forum and give everyone more of the features that they want... it's been a busy year, from contests to refinements in the Marketplace, to custom-coded add-ons that we haven't even implemented yet. If a Moderator or Virtue has helped you or somehow made your community experience better over the last year, please take a moment to send a quick "thank you" PM!

      From me, a huge and heartfelt "THANK YOU! :aheartbea" to my fellow administrators: Dezarii, Jescissa, Junkets, Katyok, Zagzagael, celticgeekess, and Kiyakotari!

      Just as importantly, I would like to thank all of our amazing Virtues, who keep DoA tidy and wonderful one subforum at a time. Thank you to AreeElf, Bird of Hermes, FairEmma, ginarolo, idrisfynn, jaeninha, Lolly, Mirren, Quiet Queen, sher, snowleopard, St. James, Taralphiel, timid, and our Wiki Angel, Forbidden!

    2. Congrats! I have had so much fun on this forum and met some really good friends. I have only been here for four years but from stumbling about, to actually working, modding sewing my fingers to dolls. To getting masking tape in my hair and decorating my front room with scraps of panties. I have really enjoyed it all. This place got me back to art after I had pretty much given it up, and it doesn't matter what i'm looking for, answers, pictures, a diagram of how a doll goes togeather, or even just a pen pal I have found it all on this site.

      And through it all the mods, admin and just general cool virtues have helped out and been the first to get the right answer. You guys have built the best running forum i have ever been on, and I'm not sure no matter how much we say thanks... it really shows. Especially those of us that log an insane amount of time lurking through at all the pretty pictures. So THANK YOU. Just. Thank you.

    5. Congrats to DOA on 7 years. May she be here for many more.
      I celebrate 2 years with DOA myself, and it has been a worthwhile 2 years. I have found a new love, gone from being a doll enthusiast and photographer to the owner of 4 boys...:) And to think, it all started with meeting a DOA'er at Youmacon in 2006, who had a booth in Artist Alley, and they had one of there dolls sitting on the table modeling some of the wares. It intrigued me, so I asked about the doll and such. It was there I learned of the world of BJD's and they gave me the name of this place to check out. I did and lurked around for a few years, visiting as a guest, though in 2009 I decided to actually join being my interest drew from photographing them to wanting to own one.
      Suffice to say, I am happy I did, because it brought me to a place, where I have learned an grown int he two years as a member, and gained friends, wisdom and memories from here and all the people here, from the Staff to the regular members....

      So I wish DOA a Happy 7th Birthday, and I wish for lots more fun and excitment for our staff for what I hope will be another 7 years...or even more here on DOA.

      You've given me so much, from new dollies to new friends, to a place I can go to and feel welcome that I wish I could do more to show my thanks. All the mods and virtues have done such an amazing job keeping this place running- I don't know what we'd do without all of you!

      Here's to a great year and hopefully many more to come! :)

      I'm sorry for not being more active on Doa but ye guys have grown so big during those years but that doesn't mean I luv ye guys less :). I wish Doa a lot more happy years and someday I hope I have a child of my own who'd luv to hang here and learn about bjd's. lol this would mean I'm wishing ye guys a lot and lot of happy new years cause I'm not gonna be making babies anytime soon XD hehe.

    15. Happy Birthday, DoA! I'm rather happy to know that DoA's birthday is around the same time as my own birthday! But anyways, I am hoping to see DoA experience more birthdays in the future. As in many more birthdays!

      This forum would always have a special place in my heart, as I made friends here and this hobby and forum had brought a lot.

    27. Happy birthday DoA! I might have only been a part of this forum a year and a half but it's one of my favorite places to hang out. I love looking at what other people are doing with their dolls and chatting with people who share my love for certain companies in the discussion forums. It's been a crazy year and half of going from zero BJDs to 3 1/2. From having just a few articles of clothing in my desk drawer to having an entire four drawer storage unite dedicated to my doll clothes and supplies, and none of this would have been possible without DoA. Two of my dolls have come from the MP and a lot of the clothes now either on my dolls or occupying space in the clothes drawer have either come from the MP or from friends I've met through DoA. I've also learned a lot reading through threads on here. I wouldn't be the doll owner I am today without DoA. So I just want to say THANK YOU to every Mod and Virtue that keep this place running.

      Really, this forum means so much to me. I have met great people here from all over the world who share this wonderful hobby that I never would have been able to meet otherwise. This forum has allowed me to become more social and I'm a lot happier because of that. Dolls have really enriched my life, but I would NEVER have known as much as I do now had it not been for the supportive people on DoA. Thank you Mods/virtues for maintaining such a huge community which allows the rest of us such an enjoyable dolly experience!

    48. In Year Seven, the guy I had decided was The One after day three finally stumbled to the same conclusion about me and we got married. It's been 33 years total, now.

      Here's hoping that DoA has as long and happy an existence, no matter how many potentially buggy platforms it morphs through over the years! :)

    58. I know this is late - I've been in South Korea for the past month playing Navy Reserve Girl...but...better late than never!

      I remember when DoA was just a little Yahoo!Group. When the only doll company out there was Volks, and you had to go through a shopping service to order one. I was barely 13 years old, and after seeing the price of one of the beautiful 'anime dolls' my mother introduced me to, I had resigned myself to never being able to afford one.

      Things have changed in the past 10 years! DoA has blossomed into a bustling and thriving online community with crazy amounts of people! This is in no doubt due to some serious moderation - DoA Mods, Virtues, et al, you all deserve one giant slice of birthday cake (guilt-free, it's e-cake!) and hugs all around.

      Thank you for keeping one of my favorite spots to lurk online open, free, and ever-growing! You guys rock, and DoA...well...HAPPY (belated) BIRTHDAY!!!
