Asymmetrical S Hooks

Nov 16, 2023

    1. Hi all! I realize there's a few threads from way back discussing s hooks so I apologize for the new thread. I'm looking to buy a particular type of asymmetrical s hook which came with my Dollshe boy and wondered if anyone has seen any other makers or doll suppliers that sell similar hooks.

The s hook is approximately 1.7cm long with a smaller side for the string and larger size for part attachments. I've found these hooks to be very easy to work with, making switching parts a breeze because of the hook length.

In contrast, my Dollmore boy uses incredibly small hooks and it was extremely difficult for me to take off his hands. I would like to replace his hooks with the asymmetrical s hooks.

If anyone has any information of where to find these tiny asymmetrical hooks please let me know! Thank you :3nodding:

    2. I've made my own with thin wire and pliers! It should be fairly simple because you have a reference model.

    3. Thank you for the suggestion :3nodding: Would any kind of stainless steel wire do? I was afraid that if I did it myself the hook wouldn't be strong enough to hold the string and just bend open eventually :XD:

    4. Any kind of steel wire will do! When I was making neck S-hooks, I was able to use premade ones from the hardware store and force them into shape.

I do recommend that you wear gloves, preferably with a grip. Protects your hands and helps you use the pliers!

If you have any other questions or want to see what I've done, just post here or message me. :)

    5. @SaltedPretzel Okay, thank you so much! I'll see about getting some wire to try out tomorrow :thumbup
