    2. I was informed that I have about 1 month left to wait for my Cordelia. <3 So excited!

    3. Hi everyone! Just a quick mod note here, the team has been working on standardizing Waiting Room Waitlists and moving them to new Wiki pages, so this waiting room's list can now be found here:
Asleep Eidolon Waitlist - Den of Angels BJD Wiki | Den of Angels

Please add any new order entries on that Wiki page. :) It is not subject to a character limit, and everyone can edit that same page, so we hope this will make things easier all around. Please feel free to come to Ask the Mods if you have any questions about editing the Wiki, and please feel free to bring any chat about your wait to this thread.

    4. Not a lot of activity for the Asleep Eidolons, huh? I haven't exactly seen much about them, but I'm still so excited to have put in my order today! I was so stoked about the idea of having a legit mermaid BJD that I had to pay for my new 45 cm mermaid Dione in full! Now to play that rough waiting game.

    5. Haha, I'm also joining this very quiet waiting room! Or I think I am anyway. I've put in an order for the new limited Erin, but no local dealer/none of my usual dealers carry Asleep Eidolon, so I've had to go through their Taobao store. I will update the waiting list once I know my order has been accepted.

EDIT: Turns out I can order direct, which is much better than via an agent via taobao. Gonna get me an Erin. :D

    6. Nice! Erin was a lovely one, too, so congrats! What color did you choose for her mermaid parts?

      • x 1
    7. I got her default colour, black. I went backwards and forwards many times over it because I loved the idea of a very colourful tail. In the end though, I want to dye the human parts and neutral colour mermaid parts have the best chance of working with what I want to do!

    8. Hello! I hope y'all don't mind, but I'd like to join this room, too! Recently I placed an order for a mermaid Pearl!

It was thanks to Asleep Eidolon that I found out about the existence of BJD's (I don't remember when exactly, but it was way before their line of 45cm merfolk BJD's were available), and it's been a dream of mine to own one of their merfolk BJD's ever since! I didn't even know you could order from Asleep Eidolon directly until I saw this post on the front page of this site, and, seeing how low their price is through them compared to their dealers, I jumped at the chance to order my own little AE mermaid, and now my dream is officially in the making! (Or going to be. They're now probably working on orders placed before mine, but I can't claim to have even a clue what their process is like.)

I chose Pearl because her sculpt reminds me of Marina from the 1975 anime film, Hans Christian Anderson's The Little Mermaid -- a favorite childhood film of mine -- and it's because of that I also ordered Cordelia's blonde wig with her, instead of Pearl's default pink wig. I also ordered color D for the tail, because none of the available colors quite matched Marina's, and I figured D would be the easiest to customize.

Well, it's only been a little over 24 hours, and already it feels like it's been a while. :-P. (I am very much new to this hobby.) Here's to making it to the day our mermaids arrive, nattherat!

    9. @MermanNevaris Haha congrats! :) That’s great, I hope both our waits are relatively short!

I hadn’t really given AE too much thought before, until this collaboration with Xagadoll. I am a huge fan of mature tinies, 1:6 is my favourite scale, so a mature tiny that is ALSO a mermaid? And with a jointed tail of realistic length AND fancy transparent resin? Yes please. :D I am very excited for mine!

      • x 2
    10. Hello! Does anyone know if the new Asleep Eidolon limited mermaids are the mature tiny style? I can't find body measurements anywhere

    11. They are 32cm in human form, and 45cm in mermaid form, so yes they are! :)

      • x 1
    12. @MermanNevaris that's awesome, congrats! There's nothing like purchasing one if your first dolls and playing that awful waiting game. I know I'm beyond ready to hold and photograph my girl. Did you plan on coloring her tail blue, then (I think that's the color Marina's tail was)?

@nattherat sounds like quite the project! I'd love to see how she turns out. What ideas did you have in mind?

      • x 1
    13. @Kaichan311 Thank you! I do plan on coloring her tail, though I plan on using aquamarine instead of blue. Her tail color seems to differ between the VHS and DVD versions. (Monitor/TV settings may also have something to do with that.) I'll be using aquamarine as that's what the DVD version of the film shows. Anyway, I hope you won't have to wait too long for your girl! Whom are you waiting for?

      • x 1
    14. @MermanNevaris awesome! Do you plan on using airbrush techniques, dyes, or classic pastels to paint her? And yeah, I didn't realize until just now that I was thinking of the 1992 cartoon with Lina rather than Marina XD oh well. As for me, I'm waiting for the MSD sized Dione. The white mermaid. But I got her in normal skin and the blue tail. She just had such a sweet face, I could t resist! But the little mermaids are super cute. I about went with the actual 32 cm Marina because she was just so darn pretty!

    15. @Kaichan311 I plan on using an airbrush to color my Pearl's tail, as that technique tends to produce the smoothest texture, as far as I've seen from BJD faceup videos. And I'd like to be able to remove the color later, in case I ever want to recolor, or even if I just want my Pearl to have a grey tail. (Any advice would be appreciated, as I've never actually painted on a BJD before.)

And congratulations on ordering a 42cm AE mermaid! I was really tempted to buy one of those dolls myself back when they first released on LegendDoll, but the price wasn't in my favor at the time. What do you plan to do with your Dione?

    16. @MermanNevaris that's actually super cool! I, personally, have never really done any painting on a doll. Not truly, anyway. I did some painting on my Mephisto's horns, and I did some pastel work on my little gift fairy, but they're very faint, and need touch ups. I'm just too scared to, especially since they're white skin. That said, layer her up with MSC, so in case something happens that don't like, and you get to wipe her clean, there's less chance of staining the resin.

Since I haven't had a lot of time to even work on them, I just got Dione as a full set. I may do work with her later, but as of now, she is purely an impulse buy. Though, I very quickly developed a story for her and who may be my next doll. At the moment, she'll be a very expensive model XD (especially since I heard that distributors overpriced the AE dolls).

      • x 1
    17. @Kaichan311 Oh, I would love to hear the story you've written for your Dione, if you care to share it! I love reading stories of mermaids. Unfortunately, I haven't come up with a story for my Pearl nor any of my dolls yet. I tend to just come up with a general idea of what their personalities are like, and their possible relationship with each other.

And yes, it seems most, if not all, dealers inflate their prices for AE dolls. I saved $150 dollars ordering my Pearl directly from AE instead of LegendDoll. I suppose that's their way of making their own money, but I can't help but wonder what exactly is the benefit of ordering from a dealer when you can just as easily order directly from the artist?

    18. @MermanNevaris I actually would love to. It's a romance, of course, set in Victorian England. Nitty gritty details will be posted on her doll profile when she comes home, but she's basically this sweet, sad thing who has lived alone her whole life in a lake on the property of an aristocratic manor, where she meets a young duchess to be. Best friends to lovers, and things get tricky when the duchess becomes engaged to save her family's dwindling fortune. And that's all I've got so far. Not sure what I want to do with them, but the duchess is probably a purchase I will be making soon. Like, my dummy self will likely be spending money by the end of the week while I can get the doll $100 off, and super cheap on Alice's Collections.

I'm sure you'll develop something for her! Sometimes, you just need to hold the doll to get a feel for them :)

As for dealers, I think it's usually the issue of shipping and customs and such. At least, it is for me. If you can find a distributor in your country, your shipping tends to be less, and you don't really have to pay customs fees. And it's also super easy to really plan for a doll with a variety of companies right there to choose from, since I look to shell specific characters.

      • x 1
    19. @Kaichan311 That sounds like an interesting story! I would love to read the whole of it once you've fleshed it out. The fact it's set in Victorian England makes the story all the more interesting! What doll do you have your eyes on for the duchess?

One thing I forgot to mention in my previous post is I also tend to think of stories of my dolls living with me as they are, except with the ability to act on their own (similar to Toy Story, except they make no attempts to hide their sentience from me). Either that, or simply as miniature people living with me. One scenario I've already contemplated is my Pearl insisting on me allowing her to swim in the local lake, but refusing to in fear of fish bigger than her gobbling her up, or her getting caught in some fisher's hook. Despite my best efforts to give her places to swim (digging a pool in my backyard or building an aqua terrarium for her), her desire to swim in the lake remains.

    20. @MermanNevaris I was mostly considering the Charm Doll Aurora, but I also just adore the Fairyland Alicia. I just know that I need her to look relatively mature compared to some MSDs that I've seen.

Oh my gosh, that is the cutest thing I've ever heard. It's definitely unique in that most people put their dolls in their own universe(s), so seeing them on the same plane as us, their owners, is a pretty neat concept. Have you considered jotting any of it down? It might be interesting to work on through blog posts or diary entries.

      • x 1
    21. @Kaichan311 Oh my gosh, Aurora is so pretty! She reminds me of Rose from Titanic. (Obviously two very different character designs, but it's the over all aesthetic, if that makes sense.) She's an excellent choice for a duchess character.

Thank you! And no, I've never considered writing anything down until now. I will definitely consider it. Where would be a good place to write such stories?

    22. Nothing special, I just want to dye her a darker skin tone! Thats why I have ordered fairy white skin. I haven’t decided on exactly how dark yet, I might leave that up to chance with the dye on the day. :)

    23. @MermanNevaris that's what I thought, too! She had this elegant, sensual vibe, and still so much softness to her. The only thing I'm not 100% sold on is the eye shape, but I feel like that's just something I could come to appreciate if I sat down with her. Concerning story posts, I'm not entirely sure. I've never really written anything that I made public - at least, not in years - so I don't know how much help I can be. Archive of our Own is a fairly popular medium, but I'm not sure if it's reserved exclusively for fanfiction. I have no clue if people still use Wattpad, but that was where a lot of young authors post their original works. And then Tumblr, which is popular and active, so you could get a bit of traction, but they tend to be iffy in select blog communities. It really depends on what sort of publicity you would be looking g for, I think. I hope that helps XD

@nattherat you bold soul! I am petrified by the mere idea of dying a doll, because I would be so scared of screwing something up. Are you working towards a sort of creepy piece, other did you just want to give her more of a tan?

    24. Hello!

      I'm also waiting! What neeervios
They are so beautiful! I love!. I have been waiting for a month and according to the email that I sent (doll legend) I have to wait 4 to 5 months.

I no longer have nails hahaha. They told me they do not take that long. What do you want to get and take photos

    25. @Lalin Congratulations! It's 8 days left until the 1 month mark for me. So far, I've looked at the photos of the dolls almost every single day, and spent about an hour a day fantasizing about unboxing my Pearl as well as coming up with her story. The wait is getting easier, however, and I'm starting to not rely on staring at the photos. I'm more or less mentally prepared to wait until September to get my Pearl. Kinda sucks, as I would prefer to get her while summer is here, so I can bring her along as I go to watery places. But, it is what it is.

    26. Thank you! and really mine takes a month and 10 days already.
I'm super nervous. And anxious. What I'm looking at is the subject of clothes. It is very difficult to find something that fits, and ASleep Eidolon is not that it sells a lot of clothes apart from that.

I hope your baby arrives soon and do not make you wait long!

    27. haha I'm the same, I've been waiting for my Cordelia for 107 days, it's my new siren, and I'm very excited (it's my grail!)

What kills me inside is that I sent an email to Legend Doll months ago and this was more or less the conversation:

Me: Hello one question, while I wait for the doll, will I have any news on how its manufacturing is going?
Answer: The dolls take 4 to 5 months to manufacture. Thank you for purchasing.

I was very ... em ... silly? My head translated the conversation into this.

      Me: Apples?
Answer: how rich the oranges are.

LOL. I didn't answer, I understood what anger they were going to give me another answer. I just hope it arrives beautiful, perfect and blue as ordered. Hahaha

    28. I have been waiting 84 days - but excluding weekends and Chinese holidays, it's 59 days. AE gave me the estimate of 90 days, but didn't indicate whether those were working days or not. I am hoping I get lucky and my mermaid is shipped soon!

    29. If it's any help, my AE order was placed at the beginning of Feb and shipped from Legend Doll about a week ago so has been close to 6 month wait. And my order last year was 5 months so looks like the company's wait time is currently around 5-6 months. :)

    30. Hahaha, honestly my heart hurts when I read that, 6 months and wait .... I wish it were only 3!

but well, if so, this month is the 4th, so I think I'll have it in ... October / November? Nooo I love her now! hahaha I'm impatient

    31. Aaayyy...bought 3 pairs of hand parts for my AE girl today. :) Been wanting to get her extra hands for ages, but was too lazy to try and figure out what other company I could snag hand parts from (that I liked). Meandered over the AE’s website the other day and found that they got a couple of different hand poses available to order. :aheartbea

I imagine they probably won’t match perfectly. I got my Coral back in 2012, so I imagine she’s probably discolored a bit since then. As long as they’re close enough though, I’ll be happy! It’ll be so nice to replace her default pair—never much liked them to begin with... Crossing my fingers I won’t be waiting half a year for them, but we’ll see. :XD:

      • x 1
    32. I got word that my mermaid shipped! The waiting game is almost over!! :celebrate

      • x 2
    33. That’s great! I was told a few weeks ago that my mermaid would be ready to ship in a couple of days, but no word since then. However, I decided to give them more time since I saw on instagram that they were busy with doll shows!

      • x 2
    34. I have not received any word of my doll either. Let us hope that changes soon.

      • x 1
    35. I have asked for Doll Legend, and they have told me 5 months, my head has not been made up as it touches and has told me that one more month of waiting ...

Paypal has 6 months at the most to claim ... It seems a bit ... strong, it takes 1 month to put on a bjd that I ordered 5 months ago.

I am sincerely disappointed and upset

    36. @Lalin I can understand the upset. Unfortunately six months is not a long wait in BJD terms! Dollshe has waits of two years, Dollzone and Doll Chateau have waits of 6-8 months. I waited one year for Doll Leaves at one point.

If you are not happy to wait longer, you could ask your dealer if you could get a refund and forfeit the head. You might be able to buy it from their stock later. Hopefully they would listen.

      • x 1
    37. No, if the problem was that they had not finished makeup their head. And I understand the waiting times. But I have read on the internet of people who have paid for bjd and then they had neither the bjd nor their money ..

That's why I was calm when I asked that the time was 4 or 5 months ... but now ... they put me in a moral trouble.

    38. @Lalin That’s why I suggested you ask the dealer if you can cancel it. If you open a paypal claim against them, they might blacklist you as a customer for it. But if you ask them to reach an agreement with you (a refund, then a notification when they receive the head and are ready to send it, at which point you can pay again), it could be better for all parties. I have asked things like this of the dealer Angelesque, and they have been understanding.

I forgot to add - its been three weeks since AE told me my doll would ship, so I have sent them a friendly prod! I will give them a week, and if I don’t get a reply, then I will give them more of a firm reminder that it has been a month since she was supposed to ship. :)

      • x 1
    39. Just an update: AE replied to me and told me there had been a mixup, but my doll would be ready to ship this week!

I hope it’s true, I am pretty excited!

      • x 2
    40. That's wonderful, nattherat! I hope they mean it this time.

Anyway, having received no word about my Pearl, I decided to contact AE for a status on her. They told me she is being prepared, and she will be shipped in October. No specifics beyond that, unfortunately. At the very least, if what they said is true, then I don't have much longer to wait. (But, gosh, it's been grueling this past month for me.)

      • x 2
    41. Lucky! I'm very happy for you. I still don't know anything and there are 15 days left until 6 months have passed ... I honestly find it hard to trust online shopping, and bjd are not cheap precisely ... they are not a barbie

    42. I have not seen anybody complain that AE never sent them their doll, so I am sure you will get it! I think it’s just that going through a dealer ALWAYS extends a wait time, because there is an extra party involved.

I still haven’t received a tracking number tbf. I will be emailing them for it soon.

      • x 1
    43. My doll arrived today! :D Here are some pictures. She is really cool. I got the fullset Erin, minus the face-up, and wow her face looks totally different blank. I also had them swap out the white wig for a black one.

      • x 1
    44. That's wonderful, nattherat! Congratulations! I'm sorry you're not sure how you feel about her (according to the image's description). If I may say, the seeming iridescence of her tail is gorgeous! I hope she will grow on you in the months to come.

By the way, were you notified when she was shipped?

    45. I was! However, the email was extremely confusing because it was just before they went on holiday, so it wasn’t clear that it was a shipping notice. They said “We have delivered your doll, we will send you tracking number after holiday”.
Whether that meant they had shipped it or just made it wasn’t clear, so I decided to just wait until their holiday was over. And then suddenly she arrived on my doorstep!

Her fantasy parts are amazing, I will say that the glitter is on top of the resin and not embedded though, so it does rub off. Just something to keep in mind!

I actually bought her to hybrid, but I think I am unsure how I feel about that particular crew these days, or really most of my BJDs. But she can stay in her box until I have thought about it!

      • x 1
    46. I see. Thank you. I have yet to receive my notice yet, so I was kinda hoping you didn't receive one at all. That way, it could mean my doll is on her way to me now, and Asleep Eidolon just neglected to tell me. :-P. I suppose mine is taking longer because I ordered a faceup. I hope I'll receive word soon.

Anyway, thank you for letting me know about the glitter. I hope it won't scratch the resin at the joints... And I look forward to seeing whatever hybrids you decide to make with your Erin! And don't forget to update the Asleep Eidolon waitlist.

    47. I don't think the glitter will scratch, it isn't going to be tougher than resin. It'll just come loose!

Unfortunately I won't be able to show my hybrid. The head is 3D-printed, which means it's off-topic.

I am sure they will send you your doll soon! They sent my tracking number to me today (lol), so they are back from their holiday.

      • x 1
    48. Oh gosh, I'm happy to hear some have received their mermaid doll! I bought mine in May from legenddoll dealer....and there still has been no word from them... :( Going to message them pretty soon.

    49. I don't think you have to worry just yet - ordering from a dealer always takes longer, and mine took a big chunk of the year just direct!

That said; there's no harm in asking for some news. :)

    50. Well, I am very disappointed in the truth, I have always been long with the answers. And as they were not clear to me and Paypal insurance was over, in the end I will not have the siren. I am very hurt with the store or dealer. I don't feel like they were fair to me, so I'll wait for a second-hand one that can pay and that's it. I never buy there again.I run out of my grail

    51. @Lalin What happened? Is it taking a long time to ship, or has the dealer actually cancelled your order with no refund?

EDIT: I don’t know when you placed your order, but from the waiting list it seems like 6-7 months is the actual accurate waiting time for Asleep Eidolon, especially through a dealer. You have just entered month 6, right? I am positive you will get your doll soon!

    52. Well, a very strange mess happened, they didn't tell me the clear things and they messed up ... and they didn't treat me very well, they weren't fair to me and I canceled the order. A grated It will never come, I will look for it from 2nd hand and that's it. I will not ask that house again, I feel very disappointed and bad :...(:(

    53. After asking twice for a status update on my order (first time on the 24th of October), I finally received a response. Asleep Eidolon told me my order has been sent to the postman, that they'll send me a tracking number as soon as they receive one, and they apologized for the delay. There are no specifics, however, so I don't know what to enter in the Asleep Eidolon Waitlist for the ship date. Should I use today's date, or should I wait until I receive my tracking number and enter the date listed there?

    54. I would put both
      Shipping Store Notice Date X-X-X19
      Date of tracking code X-X-X19

      • x 1
    55. Some more news: I have received a tracking number from AE this morning. But...the item cannot be found. I have tried the tracking number on both Tracking | EMS and https://trace.epost.go.kr//xtts/tt/epost/ems/ems_eng.jsp (the latter link given to me by Soom), and neither recognize the number. Should I ask AE to reconfirm the number, or should I just wait?

    56. Hi guys o/,
I received my girl yesterday, she's very cute =^-^=<3!

I have a question for fellow-buyers. My package was opened by the local customs and I noticed I didn't get an authenticity certificate. Do they usually come with one? Or did the customs lose it..?
      Thanks a lot!

    57. @flivine Mine did, so I think they are supposed to, yes! D: Any chance you can chase up AE and ask them?

      • x 1
    58. Thanks for letting me know!
Yeah, I will try message them to ask if they could resend it >x< Hopefully they can!

    59. I'm sorry to hear that happened to you. :-(. I wish you the best in getting a CoA for your doll. My mermaid came in on the 20th, and, although nothing was missing from the package, I recieved the incorrect wig, and -- much to my distress -- two of the four fins she included had marker stains on them, somehow! I immediately contacted Asleep Eidolon about this, and they thrice apologized to me and promised to send me the right wig and replacement fins. They even told me they'd be happy if I keep the wig she came with, which I am grateful for. I'm sure Asleep Eidolon will accommodate you. You need only to ask.

    60. It's good to hear they're accommodating! Thank you!
Sorry for what happened to you;; Hope u get the replacement parts and correct wig soon! **!
