Asleep Eidolon on Taobao

    1. Hello. I couldn't find anything regarding AE AND Taobao with the search function. When I check the Company Links on DoA and click on the AE link, I get directed here http://shop33373670.taobao.com/. So I assume this is the official and legit shop of Asleep Eidolon? I heard there are many fakes on Taobao so I want to make sure.

      Also, I saw this doll http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=8755037522 there, I love Xun and want to buy him. But google translator doesn't help much. And my chinese friend doesn't know anything about BJD's so she can't really help with the direct translation.
      If I convert the price there to USD it's only 106. This is very cheap, considering the doll Xun is 420 USD on the MintOnCard site. Are the 106 USD the price for the head or full doll?

      Also, I am located in germany so using an american dealer/agent isn't really an option for me. I want to buy the doll in the "cheapest" way possible. On european sites BJD's are almost twice as much as on american/asian sites. Could anyone help me with this? Maybe tell me what's the easiest/safest/cheapest way to buy this doll for me.

    3. Yeah even at the cheapest exchange rate this doll is over $1000USD. Most of the time when a seller on Taobao sets an item to a much higher price than what it is normally sold for that means it is sold out. Also I would reccomend just buying from your area's dealer for AE dolls, it's not worth the risk of getting a bootleg off of taobao. If you really love the doll, you can save up the money for it over a period of time.

    4. I wouldn't really trust that seller according to their feedback too, especially if it's for a bjd. When I look to buy items on Taobao, I only trust them if they have 4 diamonds+ or crowns. If it helps, this site has a breakdown of the feedback ^^

      You also have to consider if you use a shopping service, they usually charge around 10%+.

    5. if you go to the doa company links and check the ae link, you get directed to that taobao seller. the official site http://www.aedoll.cn/index.php also lists that shop as their official shop. which means that asleep eidolon has bad feedback, and not one of their sellers, because that shop IS asleep eidolon.

    6. Actually the price for AE 1/3 doll, including Xun, is 2180rmb. This price is for buyers within China. Most of the sellers will not send items outside China or will have different prices. I guess with the income of typical Chinese it is fair.

      If you want to buy anything in Taobao, you have to have an account; the account is connected to a buyer bank account in China. No need to mention that most of the sellers will only communicate in Chinese.

      There is an European agent in Holland (Dolls Alley) for AE, but they are moving (?) so, MoC is now taking orders from European as well. Anyway, you still can contact the agent in Holland and see if they can take orders. This saves you custom / VAT or shipping fees.

      On another note, you should be really careful with buying too cheap, especially in Taobao, since there have been many pirated dolls reported: AE dolls copies.

    7. alright thank you. i know about the fake dolls. but ae's official site and doa both link to this taobao seller, so its very unlikely that there are fake dolls.

    8. I didn't mean that the link you posted has fake dolls, it is AE. My note was meant more general, because there are quite a few AE agents on Taobao apart from the AE themselves.

      2180rmb is approximately 330usd, so the price you listed (106usd) is not for a full doll at all.
      Might be for a head only, but than it would be too expensive since MoC has heads listed at 95usd.

      There are some people on DoA that will help you to buy a doll, but as limedragon said, you will pay something extra. If you also include the PP fee (I guess the person helping you will not absorb them), higher shipping fee, and the risk of custom fee/VAT, the European agent may still be quite a good choice.

      I want to order Alex but Mint on Card is a bit too far for me. I live in Australia and it will be better if a dealer will be nearer.

      Is there anyone that order dealer near Asia and not Mint On Card?

    11. Asleep Eidolon has few agents in Taobao if you open their Chinese website you would see if one shop that you mentioned before is authorized agent from AI. Price in here: http://item.taobao.com/item.htm?id=8755037522 just for display price, Xun's real price is RMB 2180 is about $342,26 (using $1 = 0.157)
      AI is not very strict such like La legende de temps which it's still possible overseas buyer to buy directly from them. The method is asking Chinese friends to help you to buy it or using Taobao agent. But if you use agent, they will charge you 10% from the total purchase + local shipping + international shipping. I think more less the price almost same with AI in MOC. Unless if your agent could provide 40%-50% EMS discount shipping.
      Using overseas dealer is pretty helpful because it's very easy to make order, but I know sometimes the price is higher ^^
