Asleep Eidolon (AE Int'l) minis discussion part 2

Haha I totally do. It's one of my worst distractions. I get sucked into the customization and gallery boards, and that's it. I would say that's one of the big reasons my poor Coral hasn't been re-strung yet, lol.

 

Hi Peeps! Mostly I collect Fairyland Realpukis, but recently I've fallen in love with Asleep Eidolon minis. I want to make my own BJD versions of my favorite 3 Disney princesses, Snow White, Rapunzel and Merida. I think Aure would make the perfect Snow White, and Coral would be a great Rapunzel. I'm still trying to decide who to choose for Merida though. Any Ideas?

 

Hmm, well I haven't seen "Brave" yet (I know, I know- where have I been?), but my first instinct is to say Cherry for Merida. She has a nice round face. Or maybe Lemon. I know this isn't the right thread, but have you seen AE's 1/3 Snow? Maybe it's just the name, but that girl just screams "Snow White" to me! I'm not normally into 1/3 scale, but AE 1/3 girls are stunning... Aure is a fantastic younger Snow White. I want Aure and Snow, *sigh*.

 

I haven't seen Brave yet either, WillowWren, so you're not the only one!

Littlegreycoconut, I definitely vote for Aure as Snow White and I think Cherry is a great suggestion for Merida. It sounds like a fun project!

 

WillowWren: I took a peek at Cherry and I could see right away that she'd be perfect as Merida! I can just imagine her with curly carrot red hair, bright blue eyes and lots and lots of freckles. Thanks so much for the suggestion!
Anarwyn: I definitely recommend Brave! It's such a fun movie. I'm so glad you like my choice of Aure for Snow White. As soon as I saw Aure I fell in love with that face! She's so gorgeous! By the way does anybody know if Aure is going to be a permanent addition to the AE dolls? I can't afford to by her right now, but my hubby said he could buy her for me in September, and I'd hate to find out that she's only available temporarily.

Oh...and feel free to call me Coco instead if you like, it's easier to type.

 

I am pretty sure Aure is part of the regular line-up; it seems that way how it is listed on the Mint on Card website. You can always email MOC and ask them to be sure.

I won't be able to order Aure till late summer so would I be able to get some spam please to relieve the dreaded waiting sickness? Any doll will do.

 

Alas, I own no AE dolls (yet), so I cannot indulge you with spam. I am merely an admirer from afar, just like you. So yes, please someone out there, give us spam! I also love Blueberry (hint, hint).

 

I plan to take more pictures of Elsbet (Cordelia Jr.)this weekend but in the meantime here she is waiting for Spring so we can do some outside shoots.

Today I learned a very valuable lesson. The AE mini girl body (the new body) has too large of a butt for TTYA leggings, lol. My Coral has a serious plumber's crack going on.

 

Coco, I am seriously considering adding an Aure to my collection at some point. I am hoping MOC will get one in stock so I can request a "real life" photo of her. I have a Luts floating head that needs a body first, so Aure might have to wait a bit.

ChronicallySpaced, you are right about the bigger hips and bottom. Clothes that fit my older slim Dollzone's were tight going over Elsbet's hips.

 

Well, your Coral and I have that in common, lol! But I just blame it on having legs that are too long.

LOL. The AE mini girl body really does have nice, long legs. I really like it. It just is a bit challenging when it comes to clothes. I think if the elastic was a bit more... stretchy?... they would fit better. The Nine9 leggings I got fit nicely but they're a bit too short for my liking. Yet, the TTYA ones that don't stay up over her booty are actually long enough. Go figure!!

Coral spam, eh? Well, here is one for you. I ordered some new eyes for her that will hopefully be in within the next few weeks, so I'll have to share an updated photo once I get those!

Thank you so much. I'm pretty happy with her. Eventually I think I'd like to re-do her face up and see if I can do a better job with it, haha. But I really like this look for her. Coral seems to be quite a versatile sculpt. ^^ I'm happy to see a lot more of them around... there were hardly any owner photos when I bought my girl.

 

Hello!

I hope I'm not being rude bumping in like this, but I was wondering if any of you could give some advice concerning AE minis?

Pear is an on-and-off candidate for a character of mine who I'd like to get a doll-version of. I keep changing my mind because I'm not sure if her face is too round or young or not. Nadeshiko is turning out to be impossible to doll-ify. Every sculpt is too young or too mature, too round or too sharp... Same with bodies.

I really like what I've seen of AE's new 1/4th body. If anyone has naked pics of their dolls, I'd be really grateful.

And does anyone have any, um, advice on the Pear sculpt? How flexible is she? Do you think she could handle a more graceful, mature look?

I'd be very grateful for any input ^^

Hey everyone! I've owned my Meijia for years now but I didn't really bond too well when I first got her with her which made me drift away from the BJD hobby. I didn't like the face up she came with so I'd repainted her a few times but I still felt there was something off with her face ><" I've recently rediscovered the hobby again and now that I'm home from uni I'd decided take my doll out of her box to see how I feel. Man...what did I not like about that cute little face?! I was so close to selling her but I am rethinking that now! Anyway, enough of the rambling, meet my girl ^^



Not completely happy with her face up, I need to practice more and redo it! Btw she is still nameless after so many years so suggestions would be much appreciated!

 

Aww she is super cute! I hope you do decide to keep her. It would be nice if you could develop a bond with her. ^^ I think she looks like a "Lily!"

I think your Meijia is cute too, december, she has such a sweet hopeful look; I think she is happy you are rediscovering her. I have an non-AE doll I have yet to settle on a name for also. It is funny how sometimes it just clicks and other times it doesn't. I think maybe it is because I don't spend enough individual time with mine; maybe that is the case for you too. Now that you are trying to re-bond maybe one will come to you. ChronicallySpaced, she does kind of look like a Lily!

I am close to finishing the face-ups on my two Yara's. Talk about re-painting, and re-painting! I finally went with watercolor pencils. I am still not 100% happy but I think I will wait a while before trying again. I will post a picture when I get them back together, along with my Cordelia Jr. I have been busy with other things lately and my dolls are getting lonely.

 

Thank you Anarwyn I think she is too. Unfortunately I'm now back in uni and didn't want to bring her with me because my uni house's condition is horrible D: Will have to wait until the holidays to bond with her which makes me look forward to summer even more! I'm already planning on some potential project already so I can't wait ^__^

I too have been bitten by the AE bug! Every time I think I've found the doll I want I find another that fits the bill better XP I am thinking of placing a pre-order with MoC at the end of the month for a AE Aure would *love* some Aure spam if anyone has her. Or just any spam ^_^ Also quick question, I couldn't find any comparisons but I am wondering how white the white skin is.

Mochistar, Rumi is so cute! She does look like she is asking where all her AE friends ran off to. I have been super busy with work and family lately and haven't been doing much with my dolls. I am going to try to get some new pictures of my Cordelia this week. I finally sewed the snaps on her new dress.

 

Is Blueberry a versatile sculpt?

I mean, can her look change a lot depending on the face-up?

 

Not really, I mean, all Blueberrys I've ever seen are mostly cute. Maybe it's because their owners like these looks. I think Lemon is more versatile.

I decided to send my AE Blue Berry for a face up artist and I am very proud of my choice. She came just exactly as I wanted her to be and I am very glad, my vision was true! She is now SO beautiful !

Everyone's dolls look so great. chocoang3l, that new face up really suits your Blueberry. I've never seen one done up like that. She looks great.

I gave my Coral a new face recently. Still slowly learning the art of doing face ups, lol. But I think it's a big improvement on her last one.

Hey guys. I`ve ordered Arue some time ago and now I`m looking for some essentials for her - like wigs and shoes, etc. Could anybody tell me please what size of wig actually fits AE 1/4 girls - because google`s answers are somewhat contradictory. So 6-7 or 7-8"?

AmoreMio: ae usually fits 7-8 wig size. I bought 7-8 leeke's and iple's for my girls

 

nichan oh thank you so much These girls are neither common nor well known here (mostly because of a the fact that we have no dealers here; also a looooong waiting period - up to 12 months and even longer) so almost every simple thing becomes a sort of quest =)

And the shoe problem is actual, too. 5.5-6 cm is not a rare MSD shoe size, but what about width? Are their feet narrow or wide?

ah, sorry, amore...didn't check this thread for so long... -_- ...i hope you got the right shoes for your doll by now.
I didn't think much when buying shoes for AE. their feet aren't like minifee or narae. Pretty common kind of feet size (although not as chubby as volks). I bought them dollmore's or eluts' shoes and some other's unknown 'brand'...

 

Thank you aphtaiwan. I hope that somewhat helps you in deciding your new doll. Lemon was an impulse buy for me and she was once put up on the marketplace, but I'm glad she stayed with me in the end. I'll take more pictures of her this weekend. ^^

I'm saving for AE Aure right now. Could anyone tell me what size wigs would fit her? She's 1/3 size. Thanks.

 

I think Aure is 1/4 size so she would either take a 6/7 or 7/8. The measurement listed on Mint-On-Card is the same as my Cordelia at 17.2 which works out to be about 6 3/4 inches which should be a 6/7. I have my Cordelia in a Monique 7/8 which is stretchy so it holds on well even if a little big; the 6/7 Monique's are more of a struggle to put on. On the other hand the Leekeworld 7/8's I have slip off her head. I have the beginnings of arthritis in my hands so I don't like to struggle to get my doll's wigs on. Unfortunately with the AE dolls I think it can be hit or miss depending on the wig brand.

I have been thinking about getting an Aure in the future too! I keep hoping some photos of her will appear here on the forum. Anyone have an Aure out there yet?

11/09 she got to our post-office (unfortunately I didn't know about that till sunday 10/11 when our post has a day-off.. and now I have to wait for my BF to come home from work for he wants to open the box with me. It's 11 a.m. now so I have 8 ''happy'' hours of waiting)

Photoshop tells me that they are twins when viewed full-face


My Aure has no face-up so I'll try to take photos of her from every angle. I wasn't able to find any photos of her so I hope to help somebody now with this.

 

AmoreMio, that would be wonderful if you could but any photos would be appreciated! Wow, Aure and Cloud do look like the same sculpt when they are over-layered! Are you thinking of getting a Cloud for your Aure? Twins are fun; I have two Yara twins on the oldest body.


My plan is to make them matching outfits eventually...

 

I want a sleeping/dreaming face for her so I'll try to get Cloud head sometime. Now I'm waiting for my second doll (YoSD) so three of these moneysuckers would bankrupt me.

Guys, I'm kind of freaking out. I thought I'd changed my mind about Aure until I found one someone is selling. She's soooo pretty and I don't know what to do. Why do I keep flip flopping about this?
