Asleep Eidolon (AE Int'l) minis discussion part 2

May 31, 2007

1. Hey fellow AE mini fans~... I haven't been around in a while, I know. XD I've been stalking this thread a lot and just looking at everyone's pictures, haha. I haven't even gotten around to doing the body review I said I'd do, which is frustrating, but... life has an annoying habit of getting in the way. :(

I got some new clothes for my girl, which makes me happy. Her birthday was October 20th!!! I can't believe I've actually been in the hobby for over a year now....

2. Chocoang31, I love your Lemon! I was looking at Lemon when Cordelia stole my heart.

Elruesta, I think Shine is my favorite of the msd boys.

I spend many happy hours enjoying everyone's spam. :) Hours I should be spending sewing for my gang. :sweat They all need new clothes...

More of my Cordelia Jr., Elsbet:

I changed out her default 14mm eyes for some 12mm I borrowed from my daughter. For some reason her hands look really big in this picture. :?

3. Oh, she's beautiful! :D I love Cordelia Jr. I hope one day I'll be able to get her myself. I actually really like those 12mm eyes in her... I've been thinking about seeing how 12mm would fit my Coral. ^^ Sometimes the 14mm just seem too huge.

4. I definitely prefer the 12 mm eyes over the 14's Cordelia came with. My daughter suggested I go even smaller but I don't know about that. :| I also have some 13mm Eyeco soft glass eyes in another doll that I was thinking of trying for comparison. They seem to have more whites around the iris.

5. Finding the right eyes is always fun, isn't it? XD You'll have to share how the 13mm work if you try them! I need to mess around with some of the extra eyes I've got lying around.

6. I will definitely post a picture when I try them. It sometimes takes me awhile to find the right size and color of eyes and wigs for my dolls. Which would explain why I have so many extra...:doh Luckily my two daughters have dolls so we often end up trading!:)

7. Can I ask how long you had to wait for your Asleep Eidolon doll to be made? The website I'm thinking if getting one through said they have an extremely long wait time, which makes me kind of nervous :S

8. Thanks Anarwyn n____n .. Your little girl is so beautiful !
Oh ~ I am using a 14 mm Mako Eyes for my girls and I find them great for them ^^ .. I also understand how long some dolls require to be complete! My both AE dolls were very hard to complete. They had lots of processing between wigs and once I got the right wig, I just knew which eye I want and that's it for them :)

9. LemonLime .. AE dolls should be ordered only from official dealers like MOC or the HK dealer. I also believe there is a UK dealer [think pink or something ^^;;]
But that's all I know for now, since I got my dolls last year. I am not updated on that information

10. lemonlime, my Cordelia was in stock so I did not have to wait. I bought her from Mint on Card, the US dealer; they often have some in stock. They also offer layaway for pre-orders, which is an option if you are uncomfortable paying the whole thing up front. They are really good about answering emails if you have any questions.

11. Well that always helps. :) Luckily for me, my best friend is in the hobby, so we're always swapping things, too.

12. Thank you Anarwyn and chocoang3l. I was looking at Mint on Card for ordering. I'm just worried about how long it would take if I pre ordered one. It'll be my first doll, I'll be so impatient to get it. ;) It says on the AE doll pages that a pre ordered one can take a very long time... I guess as long as it's one I really want it will be worth the wait. *sigh* :)

13. Hello all! I'm currently in the process of closing a transaction for a Lemon girl here on the marketplace, so I thought I'd stop lurking and actually say hello to all of you lovely folks.

Anarwyn, your Cordelia Jr. is so cute. I really love that sculpt, but I don't see enough of them. Thank you for sharing her!

14. Thanks Daeriel, and congratulations on getting a Lemon! I had been considering a Lemon for a character of mine when I noticed Cordelia. Blueberry and Coral are my other favorite sculpts. Be sure and post pictures when you get her.

lemonlime, waiting is always the hardest part, especially for a first doll; for AE dolls it sounds like a longer wait than usual. :sweat I agree if it is the one you want most of all it would be worth it. Good luck; searching and deciding on the perfect doll is part of the fun!

15. Unfortunately, it can take quite some time... :( But I can tell you that if you know for a fact it's the one for you, it will indeed be worth it. :aheartbea Just out of curiosity, which sculpt are you looking at?

16. :chibi I'm new to doA and im dying to know which msd asleep eidolon is the cutest,
In your opinion thanks :aheartbea

17. Kind of a personal opinion. AE used to have a MSD doll name Yara and she is probably the cutest. I believe Yara is retired, though.

18. In my personal opinion? XD Coral and Cordelia Jr. ^^ I love, love, LOVE my Coral... and I think Cordelia Jr is the cutest. I hope one day I can have one of my own. :aheartbea

19. All the AE msd's are cute! :D It really is a matter of personal preference as to which is "cutest". Everyone's tastes are slightly different as to what eye, nose, mouth, cheek shape they like. Face-ups make a big difference as to how the doll looks also. I think it is amazing how the same sculpt can look so different depending on how it is painted. Blueberry seems like she is a popular sculpt with Lemon and Coral close behind. New ones come out all the time; my Cordelia is slightly newer. Of course, too me my Elsbet is the cutest because she is mine! :aheartbea

Speaking of Elsbet, this has been a busy week I haven't had time to play with her. :(

20. :daisy Hi, I'm a Newbie and Im getting a Asleep Eidolon Cherry
Alice. Hehe. So, anyways I wanted to hear from some of you
Asleep Eidolon owners... :kitty2 Ps : Show off some pics Too!! If you can :)
~ YumiCupcake&Dolly :pcupcake

21. I ordered my Shine through MoC...wow, almost two years ago now O_O It took roughly six months. Hope that helps.

22. Hi to the new comers ^^ .. Congratulations for getting an AE doll or planning to get one !
These dolls are super adorable . For me BlueBerry is not cute but also innocent ! <3

This is my Melanie saying hi to Daeriel & Yumiupcakes&dolly :

Enchanting memories by Çho¢o ~ ♡, on Flickr

Oh dear LemonLime ~ all bjds take long time to arrive ^^ .. So usually it is a 30 - 60 business days waiting and it differ between companies !
Good luck on your wait. I think it is the best if you try to figure out her clothes, look and if you are handy, sew for her! That will keep you occupied

23. Whoaaa six months. I thought three months was my limit, LOL. I don't know. I feel like I would lose the spark of excitement with a wait that long. I guess at least I know if I ever pre-order another AE from MoC what kind of a wait I can expect. XD Yeesh.

24. Six months is a long time to wait but at least it gives you time to get a whole wardrobe together for them!

Chocoang31
, your Blueberry is really pretty! :aheartbea I hope to add a blueberry to my collection some day. I love all the minis, they all seem sweet and innocent. It is hard to pick just one! *_*

I discovered my daughter had some 11mm Eyeco eyes so I tried them in my Cordelia:

They actually look better than I would have thought although the slightly larger 12mm might make her look younger which is the look I was going for.

25. [IMG]
My beloved hybrid girl, Terra.

26. animagic4u, your Terra is gorgeous! :aheartbea I love the color of her wig; it contrasts so nice with her eyes. I am always on the look out for auburn, burgundy, and wine wigs. Where did you get her's if you don't mind my asking?

27. Thank you! The color grabbed me know too! I bought it here, but it's from Crobidoll. ^^

28. I needs to spam my pear! Hehehe

29. chiisaichi , her eyes are very cute!!

30. Chiisaichi, your Pear is so pretty! I just love her expression, it is such an elegant sculpt I think.

I also have a romantic eye and regular eye Yara in the process of getting new face-ups. My RE Yara is older; the default face-ups back then were nothing compared to current ones. Here is a not so great shot of her in her original face-up.

animagic4u, I forgot to ask what sculpt is Terra? I was thinking she looked a bit like my open eyed Yara yet not quite...:|

31. She is Yara. ^^ I'm not sure which one she is as I bought her second hand.

32. I got mine blank and they look so different without a face-up. I really like the look of your Terra, I can't wait to see more of her! :fangirl:

33. Gah! Everyone's dolls are so gorgeous! I really love your Pear, chiisaichi.

Unfortunately, my transaction fell through, so I will not be bringing home a Lemon at this point in time. Hopefully it won't be too long before I can own one, though. Her, and a Pear. I've just fallen in love with the Pear sculpt, particularly thanks to this thread.

34. Anarwyn - Thank you ! I love her more after I enhanced her face up. Her original face up is natural but doesn't define her face but once I worked on it, I can't believe how lovely she is ! I think AE molds are all beautiful as well, it is very hard to buy one and be done. I own 2 face plates and I think that is amazing as I feel I can bring any doll around when I want. Oh, my dolls wear 14mm eyes because I think 12 is too small.

Animagic4u - Ah! I could tell this photo gave me no clue who she is ! She looks mature ! I love that neck line, what body she has ?

Chiisaichi - Pearl know how to pose ;) .. what a gorgeous girl !

Anarwyn - Your Yara looks amazing. I need to look at AE other sculpts, I truly didn't notice some

Daeriel - Awww .. I am so sorry this happened to you! I got my AE from the Chinese blog if you are interested, though MOC are way better priced. Mine was very expensive to regular prices and that's why I'd never sell her.

Want to share a big news :
I wasn't happy with Lemon face up so I end up wiping it all off and applying a new one !
I also filmed it so you can see what I did : http://youtu.be/MhCjMoBc0Us
And here is a photo of her after I finished :

New Lemon :) by Çho¢o ~ ♡, on Flickr

35. Aww, chocoang3l, she looks lovely!!! I love her lips. :)

36. She is so gorgeous, chocoang3l! You did a wonderful job!

37. Omg such pretty girls!:D

My poor pear has changed characters so many times only to return to her first one, Galene:sweat Only I changed my rp character's hair color, so she has green now like her father. She's on a temp body cuz I wanna get her a new one.

38. Amazing face-up on your Lemon Chocoang31, she is stunning! :D I enjoyed your video also. Did you use blush and water color pencil on her brows and bottom lashes or paint? I have my two Yara heads blushed and ready for brows and lashes but I am not an artist so have been practicing different methods on another head first.

AmiSi, your Pear, Galene, is very pretty! That hair color goes looks really good on her. I love her look in that photo. :aheartbea My dolls often change characters from what I thought I originally wanted them to be. Sometimes even after I have them for awhile.

39. Thanks a lot everyone ^^ .. ChronicallySpaced * Daeriel * AmiSi * Anarwyn ! You are very supportive and I appreciate your feedbacks ^^. I've been scared to try that as it was my first official face up from a blank head. I only enhanced face ups before, done it around 7 times or so. But it is only my AE dolls that I enhanced with fixed results which I am proud of !

They truly grew up to be more as I want them to be :). SO gorgeous, cute and much more with a character. Before, I couldn't feel a character in my girls because they were so plain to me.

AmiSi - your girl is beautiful and I understand what you are going through because I also wasn't satisfied with my AE dolls before but now, I am very happy with them. Your girl is gorgeous and I'd love to see more photos of her.

Anarwyn - Thanks again! I only used the materials I showed in the beginning which is : Pastel chalks and water pencils. I think the most good advice I can give you is to do it gradually. I think my video wasn't showing it all [as it was very hard to hold the head close to your face to draw the lines, while camera is filming without creating shadows and making it very hard to see] but it did come gradually. And I did have to use multi-colors to achieve the color I want. Layers is the only way to make the color tense and before I didn't understand this and was always wondering why it looks so pale and so fake but after trying to build it up, it does make sense now.

I used to draw eyebrows before when I practiced and then face but I found that very hard as when you finish drawing the eyes, you can then define the shape / place of the brows while if opposite you will have to make expectation how the look will be and you might fail it.

Sharing a photo of my Lemon in sun light. The photos I took of her earlier were all in my laundry room in fake lights as I have no white lights and it was night because I wanted a cool weather. This is her in the sun :

40. chocoang3l , sorry late reply. She is hybrid with resin soul msd size boody

41. Chocoang31, thanks for the tips and advice, your gorgeous girl has inspired me to keep trying.:) That is a great shot of your Lemon!

42. I don't have an AE (yet), but I love lurking this thread because AE minis are so sweet and gorgeous! Kepp the lovely pics coming, everyone!

43. chocoang3l and Anarwyn thanks!:D Also, it's awesome that I'm not the only one who has a hard time finding permanent characters for a few of my dolls. I have a short attention span, so I change my mind a lot:P

44. I meant to post this last week but never had the time to sit down. I've had Tegan, my Meijia, for a year now, and even though she's gone through changes I'm so glad I never gave up on her!

45. Your Meijia is really cute coloredimage; that's a great shot! It seems that a lot of us keep changing our dolls. I actually think that is part of the fun; like getting a new doll without spending more money!

46. Is anyone thinking of ordering the new girl Aure? She's super cute! I told myself no more MSD but now my mind is wavering lol.

47. Mochistar, I just took a look at her. She is adorable!:D Maybe Elsbet needs a sister...although I also told myself no more for awhile...:sweat Of course, since a pre-order from AE could take 6 months it would be awhile!

48. Oooooo yes, I totally want Aure! So pretty. Do their preorders really take that long? Woah. Maybe that's why not many people seem to have AE dolls...?

49. Yeah, wait times for AE are about six months...that's about how long I had to wait on the Doctor :| It was worth it though cause he was absolutely the right mold for the character...I have yet to see one that I think would be better.

Aure sure is cute and I can't wait until someone gets her so we can see some owner pictures...I personally don't think I'd get her just because she not right for any of the characters I have planned (and the next doll on my list is an SD anyways :sweat), but yeah, sure can't wait to see some more of her.

50. Yea the wait is really deterring me from ordering Aure..maybe I'll wait until she's in stock. I really wish they made her in SD size though.

51. Oh Aure is so gorgeous and now why did I look at her ! I have no way to get her =(

52. I'm kind of considering getting an Aure at some point... just can't make up my mind between her or a Cordelia Jr. I love both of the sculpts. :(

53. Some Cordelia spam to help you decide...

I really love this AE mini body. She is a lot of fun to pose and play with.

I am definitely drawn to Aure, I think she has displaced Blueberry on the top of my AE list. :aheartbea

54. I guess the one good thing about that wait time is that it gives you plenty of time to make layaway payments... Argh, I want Aure soo much! :D

55. Hooray for spam!! Ahh she is so cute. :aheartbea Out of curiosity, is that the default company face up?

56. Yes she does have the default face up. Here is a shot with the eyes she came with.

My camera is not that great so it is hard to see the detail. (I need to learn to use my husband's so I can take better pictures.) I really like her face. It is a big improvement over my first Yara's face up. It is not overly glamorous but it works for Elsbet since she is supposed to be a young pre-teen girl.

A six month layaway on a Aure would make her very affordable...tempting isn't it? :sweat

57. She is so cute!! I actually really like that face up. It's cute. :)

Oh my goodness. I wish you hadn't said that. LOL. Oh man. A six month layaway... I might have to consider it. Lol.

58. It was the face up picture that did it for me too. MOC takes picture requests of any in stock doll. When they sent me Cordelia's it was instant love. :aheartbea

59. More Terra photospam of her new dress I got yesterday.

60. That's a cute dress! It looks good on her! :)

Speaking of dresses, Elsbet is still waiting for her first, she keeps borrowing the dresses from my two Dollzone girls. I sewed up a sample from the pattern I am going to use and made the adjustments for her but there it sits...I keep getting distracted looking at everyone's dolls on DOA. Does anyone else have this problem? :sweat
