@DontShoottheDucks haha~ it is really pretty! Completely wasn't expecting to see it painted so I was very shocked. I'm so happy to have my Arweil, he's definitely become a favourite of mine among my dolls (don't tell the others that though lol)

 

@Magical Rin lol he became one of my faves too! Arweil must have magic powers like that haha. He just has the sweetest face

 

@Magical Rin congrats on your arweil. I have yet to see mine. Have to wait another 2 months as mine was shipped to my dad's place instead. That wig is gorgeous btw, may I know where it is from?

@marxwyn thank you~! He will be worth the wait I guarantee it I ordered his wig from Legend Doll at the same time I ordered him, it's by a company called 'DWS' I believe. It's pretty but it's a nightmare to wrangle all those curls into a presentable state

@Magical Rin aw thanks! Soon i hope to take some more pictures. I'm waiting on a stand so i can get some "swimming" poses. I love how much the tail can actually move

 

@DontShoottheDucks You're very welcome, can't wait to see more photos in 'swimming' poses. I was pleasantly surprised by how well the tail poses as well, completely different to my LoongSoul mermaids.

 

My stand came in and unfortunately the tail makes him much too heavy to use it! It can only sort of support him and i had a bit of a mishap. He fell out and a couple points from his fins broke off. Thankfully they were clean breaks and i easily fixed them but man.. I'm a bit disappointed but i didn't realize how heavy the tail is! Be careful folks!

This is the best it could do and i had to hold the bottom down so it didn't tip forward. Also he pinched me when i was getting him out. Must've been revenge for the damage lol

EDIT: @Magical Rin after some messing around, i managed to sort of make it work! So here are a couple pics just for you~

It took making the support almost completely vertical and as you can see.. My hand holding it lol. But it's a great view of his tail!

Ignore the random foot back there lol. This one i managed to balance just right to let go. It's very precarious however and i definitely would not leave him unattented like this.
I found he actually weighs about the same as some of my SD boys. I think if anyone wants a stand for their merfolk, you should definitely go with the SD size one since it's probably made to hold a bit more weight. And also be patient with it. Balance is definitely key here haha.
I went through the experiments so now you guys don't have to!

 

@DontShoottheDucks Glad you were able to fix those breaks, poor merbaby Those last photos though He looks so cute and playful, especially the first one!

Contributing to more Arweil spam, I changed Lumie's eyes back to the default acrylic ones he came with because I think they make him look cuter I decided to display him in a partially sitting/floating pose afterwards.

After 11 months waiting Asleep Eidolon finally shipped my Arweil & my dealer has him. Just need to wait for her to check him & he will be shipped to me. I am super excited for him to come home.

@OnyeEno i have not play with mine much, but i guess standard msd size should be ok, not the ones for minifee though.

 

@marxwyn The dealer was able to order him five months after the order period so I am just thankful I was able to get him. The wait was long but worth it. As soon as he gets here I can enjoy getting him together

 

Erin made it home on Monday. I need to get him a wig but either way he is too cute

Hello! I'm wondering if anyone has a doll in AEs white resin? What kind of white is it or how does it compare to other companies white? (I know the snow/fairy white is a paper white so just curious about the regular white colour).

 

I'm considering what appears to be a secondhand Lemon doll, and in the seller photos the doll looks pretty tan (the listing states that the doll is yellowed, but the resin shade seems to be significantly darker than normal resin and I can't tell if it's resin color or just bad lighting). Have AE dolls have ever been offered in tan or should I be worried it's a recast?

Edit: the doll was listed as an unidentified BJD, so I assume they no longer have any boxes or COAs.

 

I was one of the winners for the Character Design contest, so I am waiting for a XueLing head. I think she'll ship sometime in Spring? I am excited for her to get here but I know I have to be patient, I'm used to buying second hand. I'll be dying her tan and hybriding her eventually. she looks so cute in the promo pics I wonder if anyone else ordered her

Congratulations! I haven't seen much of her to be honest, I had to looked her up to know who you're talking about. It's sad that there doesn't seem to be that many 1/4 AE doll owners.

 

No kidding, I have only been able to find one or two pics of her fullset, but of course I'm planning a custom At least they post pictures of her blank face so I've got an idea of what I'll actually see when she finally gets here. I've got my eyes on little Agnes, too, but at the rate my projects are going I might have to wait until next year.

 

Such a pity, I wish this thread would have more people posting honestly. Please do share dome pics when you get her I love to see activity on here

 

Hello everyone! Quick question, does AE ever re-release older limited sculpts? I am absolutly in love with Dione, but she was limited in 2018. Is there any hope of getting her at some point?

 

You could consult Legenddoll. They still have a number of limited listed that are otherwise unavailable. It's why I ordered through them (I'm getting Twilight Fairy). You'll have to pay more though, and wait time could be longer.

 

Hmmmm. So there is a little hope. I try not to order from leggendoll. The shipping is just outrageous. But if i cant get her anywhere else Id be willing to. Though it won't be for quite some time anyway.

 

Hello, hello! I figured I would revive this thread, now that all my dolls have a faceup at least.
Here's Agnes.

This is the fairy version, a fact that is in no way apparent due to the wig. I'll have to think about changing it.

I've finished Twilight, too, but by the time I got all my dolls dressed today I had barely any daylight left so here's an older picture:

I like the eyes, but her lipcolor ran when I applied the gloss and I've yet to fix it. But I will soon.

I've also bought the Polar Night fullset Dolkus had on their site for ages. They reduced the price for it in the Christmas sale to basically normal retail, which seemed like a good deal considering it's sold out otherwise. I got it on layaway, tho. This being Dolkus, I'm just hoping for the best. We'll see.

Love Asleep Eidolon. I've got at least two other dolls I'd like to own someday, but three should be enogh for a while

 

Hello again everyone! Quick question about the mermaids. Is it easy to switch out the mermaid half for the human legs? Im debating between getting just the legs or a whole seperate body. What do you guys think?

 

Judging from the one unboxing I found it looks like the upper and lower body are stung separately and then hooked together.
Not sure if it's harder than switching a head, but it's certainly cheaper. Dione uses the Xaga 44cm https://www.aedoll.com/product-page/1-4-44cm-girl-body-x-f-44 body as a base, and that one costs 85USD more than just the lower body parts.

 

@lividdarkangel it is easy to change the lower part, the mermaid part includes lower abdomen (tummy part). But you do still need to string it to the neck, pull the string up through the upper body/breast, neck, put on the head and over the S hook. The upper body (breast part) and hand parts are strung together. But of course a separate body is easier as you just need to pop off the head and put it on the human or mermaid body.

@marxwyn Thank you! That actually sounds like a huge pain. Id rather just buy a separate body for her. Be so much easier. And Dione is my grail doll, so I'll happily shell out the extra few bucks to make her perfect.

 

One more question. Anyone know what size eye Dione would take?

 

@lividdarkangel I would guess 12-14mm. She looks proportional to AE's other 1/4 scale dolls. My two wear 14mm and 12mm.

My Polar Night fullset from Dolkus is on the way! Went fairly smoothly, I mistrusted them for nothing. I guess I'll make my final judement when she's actually here.

 

Hello I'm just here to double check that these dolls wear normal MSD sized clothes. Is that correct?
I'm considering one as my first doll and I'd like to know what type of clothes i should expect to buy if i get her.

Basically, yeah. Fit will depend on wether the doll you want is on a Xaga or Asleep Eidolon body. The dolls with special sarts are usually on a Xaga body. The AE 43 and 41cm body has a relatively small bust which you need to consider when fitting clothes.

Hello all! I just want to make sure i get this right. Ae and xaga are compatable with each correct? At least with resin matching? Im getting an ae mermaid soon, and want to just get her a full human body. Itll be a xaga body and then ae heel feet (and jointed hands if i can). Will the resin on all the parts match?

 

I'm new here so take this with a grain of salt but theyre sister companies that combined into one site so i should think they should be very similar if not the same

I can confirm that the white is the same. I have an AE doll in normal but the Xaga doll in normal I ordered last year is still in production so can't confirm that yet. As far as i'm aware they are sister companies and the resins are very close but until the doll i'm waiting on arrives I can't say 100% (it's been 7 months, hurry up! )

AE often sells some of their dolls on Xagadoll bodies (mostly fantasy dolls), so they should be a match

 

Thanks! I'm now at the 8 month mark which has been the normal wait time for AE/ Xaga doll in the past so hopefully it won't be too much longer. The New Year holiday and recent lockdowns in China might add a bit to the time but can't be helped, people's safety comes first

 

I'm wondering, does anyone have a doll in the new 'white peach uv' colour yet? I'm curious how it compares to the normal or if it's similar to other companies colours?

 

My mini Agnes is in that color. When I have time and light tomorrow I'll do some photo comparisons.

@Epicari So I've tried to take some pictures...In general White Peach is a pale normal pink in my opinion. I don't have a doll in a skin tone that looks quite like it.
First, some pictures of the doll in different lightning:

The Peach White is both pinker and lighter

*The DollZone doll is three years old, it's possible that some slight yellowing has occurred

I chose this comparison, because I initially thought they look similar, but on closer inspection the ChicaBi skin tone is much paler. The color itself is somewhat similar though. Also I'm sorry about the vaguely dirty looking posing, I couldn't compare hands because the doll's hands are blushed...

I also chose this comparison because I first thought they looked similar. However, although they're similarly pale the ResonSoul skin tone is less pink

@Epicari Didn't DC/DZ Peach have the reputation to vary from batch to batch? I think at least when it was new...the AE Peach White does have a similar paleness to the white skin.
I unfortunately don't have a doll in that skintone to compare, but I'd be curious as well.
