So nice to see an owner picture of a 1/6 doll! I'm thinking of getting a Milkshake but unfortunately she's pretty far down my dollie list.

Oh wow this thread is dead! Are there really so few people who own 1/6 dolls from AE? I hope I can help revive this!

I'm ordering what (Might! Depending on which of the two gets here first, the second being mister Off Topic tiny from 5stardoll, in tan, who is absolutely adorable I might add!) will be my very first BJD from the company as we speak! Mintoncards is going to be placing it tomorrow, and I can't wait! I'm getting a little Lian Rong, Male with normal skin and default faceup and Type B Body! I'm probably going to be basing him mostly off of Dean from the Tv show Supernatural, if anyone knows it! The moment I saw the sculpt, I just couldn't help myself.. He looked just like him! Far too adorable to pass up!

If all goes well, I hope to purchase Custard too soon after! But since he'll be my first, I'm gonna hold off. Don't wanna be too trigger happy! Especially when I don't have that much extra money to spend.

I'm so excited! Anyone have experience with how long AE Takes to ship? I really CANNOT Wait!

 

I know supernatural! The cast has actually met people with some yoSds fashioned after them too and took some hilarious pictures that were all over tumblr for a while. XD Castiel was the worst with them!! XD
I'm waiting on my custard right now! X3 there seems to be quite a dearth of asleep eidolon in general, which is baffling because they're really well engineered and adorable!

From the waiting list, it's gunna be a long wait. some orders from november and january are shipping this month... I'm hoping it's faster.

I'm actually going to a Convention At the end of August, it'd be amazing if my little Dean were here by then because I've got Photo Ops with some of the cast and I may just bring my little dude along with me if he's outtings-ready.

But yeah, I know! Dude, You need to dress your Custard up as Cas for me (Even if that means putting him in his latest "Hospital Whites" Clothing attire from this season.) Just a little derpy closet cosplay, and we'll Photospam each other back and forth in this thread once we have our dolls with Cas and Dean until we bring it back to life, Haha! No one will be able to resist our AE cuteness, and soon everyone will be posting their dolls or buying them! THE PLAN IS INGENIUS!

 

Haha! I stopped watching Supernatural before Cas hit the scene, sadly. Havok is going to be my boy mischief's son. He's gunna have a cute curly black wig and bright yellow/green eyes. x3 and some leopard spots on his tummy!

I haven't done a lot with him yet, as the character is still a baby right now and hasn't "grown into" the sculpt yet. There will be lots more pix after he "grows up", I just wanted to be sure and grab him before he got discontinued or something.

I know the 1/12 are SOLID... they hold up to almost ltf style. I'm not sure about the 1/6 though.

 

I don't have much experience with small dolls in general, but I'd say 1/6 is really good! He's just really chunky, which limits him a little but I still think it's really good.

I have Dou Sha Boy and Dou Sha Girl - I love their faces, but I have a terrible time getting them to pose. They are both kicky - any advice? I may be spoiled by my other BJD's that just hold a pose, or there is a trick I don't know about. Thank you for your help.

Its strange how they are not as popular as I thought. I thought more people would go crazy over them!

Since the release I thought about making one into a merboy/merman by just not using the shell bras, and seeing some official photos of a purple-tailed Cordelia SP merboy encouraged me to do this! I'm planning on buying one (most likely Cordelia SP) at the end of March, if they're still available that is. My dream would be to own Lorelei, one of the 1/3 mermaids, too...

The only question is what tail colour to choose...I'd love to have an option for a dark blue like Sachiel though, that would make my choice much easier.

 

Hi Collie! I am CRAZY over Cordelia SP! I'd love to have a little merboy too if only I had the money but I've always loved little merprincesses ^^ I am in the process of ordering my Cordelia SP directly from China through one of the agents. I totally fell for the 1/3 mermaids too but didn't have the money when they were released so I'd not give up on the chance of getting one of the little ones!
Mine will come without any painting so I'd have to blush her myself ^^

 

That may be the bigger factor. I was looking on the AE cn website and with converter it seemed the max price for them would be 383USD. But then MOC only offers the ENTIRE package and at almost 600 dollars, that's a lot for a mini. I'm kind of sad about having to buy a lower body because, I want a mermaid as a mermaid.. i'd never use the bottom parts so bleeeeeh.
But im happy they arent flying off the shelves like Twinkies did.

 

I agree its like you're forced to be stuck with a part you have no use for. Maybe you can try to sell it off in the mktplace to people who might need those for mod jobs? I did get a human head though so that i might use some soom mermaid shell-ears on it. ^^

If my friend translated correctly, the Chinese Package options are as below:
(1) Option A
- Mermaid only, one color resin (Either normal or white skin) for the entire mermaid, no blushing on the tail and NO faceup.
- DO note you MAY choose the color of the fin at the end of the tail only.

(2) Option B
- Mermaid only, upper body (Either normal or white skin), any colored tail, blushing for colored tail but NO faceup.

(3) Option C
- Mermaid with human parts, upper body (Either normal or white skin), any colored tail, blushing for colored tail and WITH faceup.

The seller also mentioned that merboys can be made by NOT putting on the shell bra and try to sport a boyish hair. 8D;;;;;
Not sure on the human parts though, it may be gender-less.
Pretty much limited aren't we? ^^;;;

I was wondering if anyone knew how hard the boys were to dress? Are they fully compatible with yosd clothes? Or are they slightly smaller/taller? I have a hard time bonding with hard to dress dolls and would like to know before buying one n_n;

 

They're pretty chubby. I make all my own clothing so I don't know what they fit or not but they're pretty darn rotund.

Howdy folks! I just took in a Hana today, and she's super cute! Still needs a face up but she seems to be fitting in well with my other Yo-SD's. I am going to try and take a few photos of her tomorrow while I think up a name for her.

 

Congrats on your hana, almy! I just adore my little yo. It's so funny because I was kinda set in not liking tinies but he's just so chunky and cute!! >3< I gotta get cracking on some more clothes for him! can't wait to see pics of your hana!

 

I finally got her all put together yesterday once she got back from the face up spa. But then it snowed so I am waiting until tonight and hopefully I can get a photo or two if her!

Edit: here she is finally, new face up, new clothing, and just looking every so happy to be out of a box!

 

I feel like I came so late to a party. I purchased my Human Cordelia a few months ago. I'm thinking about purchasing the mermaid version in the future. I don't know why but I love the Cordelia sculpt. She's so pretty. Although, Milkshake has recently caught my eye.

 

Here's my AE Lian Rong girl! She was bought from a Flickr friend and has a custom faceup by aya&ume. Honestly, I can't believe AE YOSDs aren't more popular. I think they're such little sweeties! (However, her body is incredibly hard to pose. She doesn't to move like...at all.)
