Ace looks very asian to me and so nummy too =D he,s a Bishonen House Nori =D Sorry guess I moved on that one.
Cvy - I love your boy and your outfits They're really original! awinne - thanks for those links! I've been wondering how to order at that shop too! While I'm at it, spamming my young Chinese lord, Sun Shen-Yi (SP Shine) ^^ Holding his foreign lover's sword :3
Ilaeya is a Lati Censya - I'm not sure she's very Japanese, but she does have a distinct Asian feel to her - leaning more towards Korean, I'd think.
I can't believe no one's mentioned minisupias. Yisol definitely looks very asian (mine would look even more asian if I hadn't insisted on giving her pale blue eyes!):
I think elfdoll sooah has a VERY asian look and even lydia, if you dress her up enough ^^ and my Elfdoll lydia
Most of the Shinydolls have very Asian features (the rest are very European) This is Shinydoll Akali: My face up
My favorites are Souldoll Korean Star Series: http://souldoll.net/shop/step_submain.php?b_code=B20080728053514 Tae: http://souldoll.net/shop/step1.php?number=998 Chiru: http://souldoll.net/shop/step1.php?number=999 Kanguk: http://souldoll.net/shop/step1.php?number=1000 And the girl I chose, Elfdoll Hazy: http://www.elfdollshop.com/shop/step1.php?number=780
If you've looked at the Asian look-thread you have probably seen me post about Shiori, my Soah... Now, the Soah no longer qualifies in the "readily available" chategory, but she isn't impossible to get hold of either. Re: the Asian-ness of the sculpt - well, she has a much to large nose, and hasn't really got epicanthal folds in the sculpt. The Dragon, who did Shiori's faceup, painted epicanthal folds on her since she is a Japanese girl. Sculpts you ought to look at: Supia's Rosy. I have a Rosy waiting for the good Dragon to face-up as soon as he is able!
All my girls are asian look with their asian black hair. xD Dollmore long and currently trimming the front part. Kon doll long wig and cut by me Hime cut, wig original from leekeworld and cut by me.
My Shiori. Another doll that comes to mind is Supia Rosy, something which might be discernable here: Sorry, no better pic - she isn't finished yet!
Minisupia Yisol doesn't have double eyelids, although it's hard to see on mine with her shaggy bangs: This was taken to show her new eyes but you can see her eyelid clearly:
My modded SA Hound doesn't really have much of a double eyelid: Neither does my Vampire Luwen: Their eyelids are mostly painted on XD
They mean without a crease in the eyelid. Narindolls has two dolls without a creased eyelid - a version of Narae and a version of Narin. You can search the Narae/Narin thread in the minis forum, for tons of pictures, and explanations for the eyelids questions peppered throughout the long thread...
woosoo's dont really have the double eyelid, especially if u get a sleeping/dreaming and mod it.. This one isnt modded..
Soom Onyx doesn't have an eyelid fold sculpted in at all. Most of the faceups I've seen on her (including the default) have it painted on. You can see it quite well on the blank Shadow Onyx.
More Asian faces here... xD Shinku ~ jap mix with chinese blood ShinHwa ~ jap mix with chinese blood Adora ~ Asian girl but grew up in France Riku Lee ~ pure chinese but grew up in US Shuya(Winter) ~ Jap mix with chinese blood (Shinku and ShinHwa's big brother) Ok let's just say... my entire doll family are Asian looking with black hairs... LOL Those kimonos sewn by my mum... ^_^
not really an Asian mold (at all) but my dreaming Els character Ryuji is Japanese. as far as Luts goes, i think the Dreaming dolls have a sort of Asian feel to them...
Hopefully this will help someone. My whole goal was to get the most Asian looking dolls I could find. Elfdoll Hazy with Minimee of Japanese singer Daigo.
Delf Nanuri 2007 Custom House Lubi DIM Minimee Sakurai Atsushi (Buck-Tick) PukiPuki Dreaming Lily Migidoll Ryu (he seemed to look even more Asian when he was blank. XD; )
With all the female Soahs up on this thread, I figure a male one would be a bit different. Here's Kobayashi Asako: He has a twin that's a female Soah, but I figure she has had plenty of representation. And of course I have to promote his boyfriend Hyang Bae, my Souldoll Kanguk:
Annoyingly I don't have any pictures of these two close together, but my Sooah also looks very Asian (though she isn't as realistic a sculpt as Hazy is) Here's the best shot I have with them both in the same picture: my Hazy's on the far left and my Sooah on the far right: And separately:
Hello, I have fallen in love with the dollmore Korean outfits for SD. I would love to find an oriental woman type SD doll. I love the dollmore fashion asian doll but they are off topic and too small. Can anyone point me to a doll that looks similar to dollmore fashion mika but is on topic and SD size or larger??? THANKS!!!!!
I think this is definitely what are you looking for : Oasisdoll's Yaoyue http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?t=283363 Hope you like her
Elfdoll do some great Asian-looking women - I recommend you have a look at their Sooah and Hazy, for a start. Here are their database threads here on DoA: Hazy: http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?t=214290 Sooah: http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?t=141727
I just found Lee Jun Ki from Soul doll. She is beautiful!! Most of the dolls are sold out like Soaah and Lee Jun Ki and Hazy. Can you never get them again or will they release them again? How does all that work? Thanks!
Lee Jun Ki is actually a male doll, based on an actual korean actor. (I've seen some stunning women made out of him though, and he DOES often play the roles of cross-dressing/pretty-boy men, so...) Unfortunately, he is sold out forever. I'm not sure about the other ones, but... (Also, I heard "oriental" is taken as an insult by people of Asian decent, and is generally considered an out-dated term. I think it's because it refers to things as opposed to people, but don't quote me on this.)
I see the word Oriental used in art sometimes. Nobody uses the term Occidental in reference to Western things though. It is an old fashioned word, and (although this is irrelevant) it is a beautiful word from an etymological point of view, it just rolls off the tongue and puts images in my mind that "Asian" does not. I suppose referring to Asian facial features as mongoloid is also outdated and insulting. Anyway, Hazy and Sooah are still available, but Elfdollshop.com has ordering periods once a month when things are available to order. The notice on the frontpage says: If you are in the US there are also several dealers around that may have stock.
This is true. While many people do still use "Oriental" when talking about people of Asian descent, it's actually not terribly appropriate to refer to people that way. Rugs, lamps, clothes, and other non-animate objects can be Oriental, either in style or in origin. People are Asian.
Backing this up, the term is considered insulting when applied to people. As for female sculpts with Asian features, I second the votes for Elfdoll girls, Yaoyue (a truly stunning girl and taller than the others), Supia Rosy, and I'd like to add the Zaoll girls especially Luv http://dollmore.net/. If you want a really tall girl, Dollmore's Ha-Yarn Cho is lovely as well.
Can I add another vote for Dollmore Ha-Yarn-Cho. I got her because of her Asian look - she is very realistic and has a beautiful delicate face. Also if you're very impatient like I am, Dollmore are good at shippping out quickly if the doll is in stock
The more I look at Luv the more I like her! Check out this link of her in limited edition http://www.dollmore.net/shop/step1.php?number=3836 She is really delicate looking.
Don't be fooled by Dollmore's faceups. The Zaoll girls are artist sculpts from the woman who sculpted Narsha dolls not dollmore company sculpts. Dollmore is just the dealer. Just do a search around the forum to see what is really possible with the mold. Edit toadd: Zaoll girls are also an odd size, 52 cm. Regular SD sized outfits will drown them.
I just thought it was interesting looking at Soom's new monthly doll and their description: We designed him in quest of the Orientalize. And also we were trying to give expression sense of Oriental style. I hope that our new design aroused public response everywhere. Please, honorme with your friendship and watch with deep concern. Seems maybe this word is not a taboo word after all? LOL
I'm also a fan of asian looking girls. Most of what I was about to suggest has been suggested already. Anyway, here are some others: Dollmore Model Bonnie Hopezs Elfdoll Soah (although discontinued) Volks SD16 Ami Ayase And yeah, Oasisdoll Yaoyue hands down.
Forgive me as I haven't read the entire thread, but I think the Elfdoll Hazy makes an incredible Asian looking doll. Her eye shape is perfect, to top it off she is extraordinarily beautiful!
ooops did not mean to make a new message but anyway...here is a link to Shinydoll on DOA http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?t=232659&highlight=shinydoll This is my girl http://www.denofangels.com/forums/showthread.php?t=313497&highlight=shinydoll
There are several artist heads that have a nice Asian look like Migidoll Yuri and K-doll's JL (I think that's the name). For lower priced companies, Angelsdoll has a nice sculpt named Jin.
It's not offensive as a description of style, only as a description of people. They are using the word to describe the general style they were after. Also note that it's only an offensive word at all coming from non-asian persons. That's the rule with most racial designations. Hmm, it looks like you've already had all the really Asian sculpts suggested. This girl from souldoll might be an option as well. http://souldoll.com/shop/step1.php?number=1149
OT, but yeah, "Oriental" is definitely considered racist and insulting when used to refer to people, not rugs. I want to back up the vote for Angelsdoll Jin. She's utterly beautiful, face and body, and she has single-lidded eyes and distinctly Korean, realistic features. I love mine more than words can say. I recommend her very, very highly. The Shinydolls look distinctively Japanese, too, and have amazing bodies. And Bobobie human Charisma has what seems to me to be strongly Chinese features, although the body is a bit basic and maybe she'd work better with a ResinSoul body (you can order her on one.) And there's a Korean Dollmore supermodel who was gorgeous, from memory, and there's adorable Souldoll Apple for MSD. The Dragondolls are very stylised Chinese, as if they were from ancient art - just gorgeous.
