    1. So what kind of wigs are you going to use on her? I have some cat eyes and have been trying to decide how to dress her, but hadn't really thought about wigs. I look forward to pictures of your girl!

    3. I'm going with an Egyptian theme, since she will be named "Cleocatra the Neferkitti" (yeah, I know, bad puns!). She's got an Onsumla wig with long braids, like this one, only in black ... I'm planning on beading around the tie of each braid.

      Another is a similar wig from PoshDolls, but with shorter braids & bangs.

      The third wig is the black flip wig from PoshDolls. I'm planning on a doing a Sixties version of Isis' costume in the old Isis (a.k.a. The Secrets of Isis) TV show. Obviously, Isis' tennis dress & freakish black boots will be replaced with a mini dress & white go-go boots ala Nancy Sinatra. Only with Egyptian-esque collar & jewelry.

    7. I can't wait either!! I just spoke with Caitlin yesterday (she's working pretty long hours at her modelmaker job) and she said that she's hoping to get some more ready to ship this weekend . . . I'll post as soon as I have a further update!

      Thanks to all of you for your encouragement and patience . . . I can't wait for this litter of kittygirls to come home!!

    9. Good news from Caitlin -- the heads are shipping!! All of the white heads and some of the normal heads went out on Saturday, the rest should go in the mail on Monday :D

      I don't know how the taxidermy eyes are sized relative to doll eyes, but I think that Batchix found that they were similar (she ordered some Van Dyke's eyes, you might PM her to ask which ones worked out best in her doll heads). I've used 18mm SoulDoll cat-eyes in mine and they're a perfect fit :>

      Catdancer, I do have you on my list for future sales -- right now, the heads are not available since they were all pre-ordered some time ago, sorry!

    23. Got my Mau just a few days ago, and just out of curiousity...

      Is anyone else's really, really covered in air bubbles, or is mine an anomaly?

      Her sculpt is beautiful - so cute! I noticed there's no loop in her headcap to attach to an S-hook and keep it on, but I've put some sticky tac on the edges instead and it's working great. ^_^

    24. Eep, air bubbles? I'm sorry to hear about that -- my prototype Mau had some small bubbles, but they're pretty normal with hand-cast heads, I'm afraid. The best way to deal with them is to fill in any pits with Superglue, then sand smooth. You should be able to coat and blush over it normally.

      I do apologize -- we've done our best with quality control, but we don't have the same equipment as a larger company, so we're not able to do the casting in pure vacuum.

      Please let me know if you're not able to come to a good solution regarding the bubbles, I can try to get you a replacement head, although it will take some time.

      P.S. All future heads will have a headcap loop --when I'd originally designed the heads, I'd expected that they would always be used with wigs, and hadn't included it. Sticky tac (or a little piece of tape hidden under each ear) works great :>

      Oi, Ashbet, silly question, but might as well to make this less spammy... XD;;; Had you ever considered designing optional ears for Mau? XD I mostly ask out of dorkiness, there's a character in Phantasy Star named Myau who's a Muskcat, which in the universe of PS is a talking cat with really long ears. XD I may need to go crazy with some craft foam and do sort-of cosplay. X3

      (lol, optional human ears, that'd be funny. XD)

    30. Beautiful!! I would really love to make a doll, I have a great image in my head that isn't quite like anything I've seen on DOA She's a cat too, but more human like in the face. I don't have the money or time really to attempt her now. ... plus I think I'm a bit too young ^^;;

      Any whoot I just want to say that is just simply beautiful!! May I ask a few questions prior to Emailing you about getting a Mau Head.

      1) What's the best doll body to use for these? ((please give sites to go to))

      2) Price?

      3) Best paints to work with.

      Well that is pretty much it. If the heads are not too expensive I will have to get one to create my next doll, Nya!! Your Cat heads look much better then the Catsy ones.

    53. The ears are on posts & can be removed from the head. If you poke holes in the wig cap, you can put the ears back onto the head & they hold the wig on. Ta-da! Mau takes a size 8/9 wig.

    56. Actually, I'd suggest snipping a small hole in the wig-netting with a pair of fingernail scissors -- just a little slit is fine. The posts might be damaged if you tried to push them through without making a hole first (some of that wig netting is pretty sturdy!)
