Hm..You might want to try swapping the black wig for a wig more like the one you pictured, and getting him a pair of green eyes before you make to many decisions about him, though!

pixie - karin also got a very different doll from the auction - hers had different makeup o.o its sad really that they messed up that much, but give him some time, and try a bloond wig and green eyes on him - who knows, you may fall back in love.

 

I'd DEFINITELY contact the seller on Ebay. It's a HUGE ebay no-no to describe something one-way in the auction and send something different!

And if they won't send you the proper hair, eyes and jeans, report it to Ebay and leave negative feedback!

 

It doesnt look like the dean doll advertised at all..maybe they pictured him at a different angle? He might look the way you want with a different face up as the mold is gorgeous!
He is still cute though , I agree with Zoi_No_Miko , if she doesnt want to make it right, then she should give back some of your money, as it is definately false advertising

Other than that...I like him better with the green eyes and blond wig in the pictures, So I can see your dissapointment.

I think most people fall in love instantly with their first doll. I swear I cuddled Ghaleon for an hour after I opened him(no face up even!). But... when I got Ane, I was like, "Eh." for a little while. Now I'm all over in love with him. XD Same with Sofonisba. I'm still bonding with her, but I am begining to really like her. But it's not the same as with Ghaleon. :/ Ghaleon it's like, "I would sooner sell my arm than him." Ane it's like, "I'd only sell in dire financial straights!" and Sofie it's like, "Maybe I should sell her at some point... but dave enjoys her body so much." XD;;; I think she's more his doll sometimes. X3

 

Wow! A black wig and blue eyes would have weirded me out, as well (I don't think those colors suit him much at all).

I hope I get your issues straightened out with the e-bay seller. He's gorgeous, regardless. And so pale. o____o

 

My boy arrived with black hair and blue eyes as well. It was a shock, expecting one thing and receiving another, but I am not bothered, as I planned on giving him new eyes and hair anyway. My only beef is the seller gave me no communication whatsoever, even when I asked her/him a question; and about 12 hours after the end of the auction sent me a "reminder" invoice (without first sending an invoice)!

But my boy is here and that is all that matters.

 

I think he's really handsome. I would really say try the blond wig and green eyes on him before you decide he's not for you. It's a shame about the shoes, that must be a mix up. I'd love to see more pics of him! .... if you sell him you'll have Pixie to answer to...

Seeing PeeWee Herman is NOT a good thing. x.x I agree with getting rid of the black wig. Along with the tone of his blushing, I think his paleness helps add to that, as well -- PeeWee had that kind of pale, dark-haired, pink thing going on. BLEH.

 

Karin changed the lip colour on her boy ,his lips were so red ! after she did a little work on her boy he looked fantastic - but I would be more than a little peeved if I had paid out to get "that doll " in the Auction and got something else

Wow, I'm sorry to hear this, Moon.... I agree, he really doesn't look like the doll in the auction picture... Why not email them both serendipity and lemon, and if ask if they're the same person. Chances are, they are, and if they refuse to send you the stuff, definitely report them. You paid a lot of money for Dean, and eBay protects both sellers AND buyers, so you can demand them to help you out.

But damn.... I don't know if it's the angle or something, but he looks kinda... I don't know... bad? Not as pretty as the auction picture... (I'm sorry if I offended anyone... ) And they -HAVE- to give you the jeans and green eyes, because that is what they advertised. You might be able to return him and get a refund or something simply because you didn't get what you purchased for.

Well, at least they're responsible of their own mistakes, which is good. If he still doesn't make you fall in love with him after the wig and the eyes, just sell him... I think a lot of people would be happy to buy him off of your hands. ^_^ *huggles*

 

He does look quite different. I'd like to see more pictures.

I think you should try to angle the camera downward a bit when you take pictures of him. I find that lower angles make Eron's lips look weird.

I have not yet seen a Dean that looks ANYTHING like the auction pix - I mean not even close. Looks like a different mold, even. Wow. How scary for such an $$ doll... I think I'll stick with luts, domuya, etc ... Eep.

 

I have just received Dean as well from Dollmore and he has dark eyes and wig
Didn't look nothing like the picture
I haven't heard back from Lemonday after 2 emails written 3 days apart...
We should do something about that...

I actually think it does look like him. Of course, it's harder to tell with a different set of wigs and eyes -- but the pictures were also taken at "odd" angles... angles that weren't worked with on the e-bay auctions and the Dollmore site. I think the mold looks the same, but the dark wig and eyes completely changes the way he looks.

 

I'm expecting a Dean in the mail.

Can we please post a bunch more pics so I don't feel so nervous? x_x;;

 

I just wanted to let everyone know that I received a reply from Dollmore, apologizing for the late email and the inconvenience it caused. Dollmore said that the green eyes and blond wig will be sent to me because now it is sold out.
So I think she is honest and will give her another try...

Oh Moon, I'm so sorry for you! I say give him the new wig and new eyes and some time. And keep pestering the seller about making the incorrect order right.

It's weird. I ordered a shiwoo through them, got him in a week, prompt replys to my troubles and everything. A+ service. Now, I have an order that I've had a problem with and have emailed lemonday about and nothing. I wonder what may have happened, they used to be so on the ball.

 

Twice now I have had dolls I bought come alive after a wig change. Nono Anne was nice when she arrived, and I was pretty happy with her, but it wasn't until the following day that my mother and I were messing around with her and I popped on this black wig my mother had given me (bought for a ceramic doll that didn't see completion), and oh-wow. It was instant rapport!

The other was Hisui. I loved standard Hisui, but bought limited Hisui. This was good because she came with the face-up I wanted, but not so good because she came with a different wig. Also the camel color looks a lot lighter in real life than it does on the web. As such, she refused to be named. I asked andrew to pick up the correct wig style for me, in a near enough color if it could be found. The Volks web site only has 5 colors listed, all wrong. He found me the correct wig in Nana's default color. I popped that on her, and "Hello Pepper!" A name came quite easilly, and I spent the evening hugging her.

First, congrats on your doll. I have been watching him for a long time, and my heart aches for one.
Lastly, I too had the same kind of problem with Dollmore. I bought my Nara (Luts) off ebay and I didn't get the doll photographed in the auction. Not only that, but I got a doll with a missing ankel joint (was finally sent to me by DollMore). Also the doll was not painted the same. And...I too got some funky shoes that were not what I ordered and WAY to big!
I hated my doll when she arrived...She was my first BJD and the whole ankle thing left me miserable.... So, I went to work. Out of sculpty, I made an ankle joint until the real thing would arrive. I removed her face paint, sanded her whole body, repainted, restrung her and finally added her new bone when it arrived. Sealed her with Mr. Clear, and that changed her entirely with me. She is not the same doll that arrived here, but one that was created by spending time and bonding in that sad time. Here is a photo of her now out in the yard this past Saturday. She seem to be happy now as Chablis...and I can say, I love her very much.
