Payment are these dolls Bootlegs?

Jul 13, 2011

    1. I am really confused about these dolls. they have the companies photos but the prices are way off. are they bootlegs? also I was really unsure of where to post this.... Sorry if this website has been floating around doa also...

      http://www.igobazaar.com/Wholesale-ball-jointed-dolls_c1163

I noticed that the names are different , I should say they were changed. Example:
      http://www.igobazaar.com/kai12_p4206.html

      real:

      [IMG]http://www.mintoncardinc.com/dolls/item_details.php?BJD=141&name=Caesar+&cat=56&DOLL=YES

what is going on with this??? They seem to be selling overpriced AoD and Drangondolls.
Also they say wholesale but you can buy just one doll. Do they over price to compensate for "free" shipping?

anyways please try to help me figure out if they are boot legged. I also sent them an email seeing if they would reply....we will seee....:doh

    2. Given that the website is blatantly ripping clothing designs off of Alice's Collections as well as the DragonDolls stuff, I'd say what they're doing is buying the doll or item of clothing, then marking it up and re-selling. Either that or they're bootlegging the dolls, but I doubt it as everything on the site are actual products that other sites are selling.

      Basically, it's a scam. ^_^

    3. There are several places that sell those clothes, so maybe they are just a dealer.
I don't know about the dolls tho. They have discounted them to come closer to the original prices or something. I have also never heard of them. They don't seem to have a feedback thread here on DOA, so just to be safe I would refrain from ordering from them.

    4. I would actually check the main website of the doll to see if that site is listed as one of their official dealers. If not, then it's a knock-off or something.

    5. It already looks to be a suspicious 'company', for my virus detector is letting me know it's a threat.
They do seem really really fishily close.

    6. Reminds me of the site Milanoo... sells all kind of things from Cosplay clothing to computers and dolls/doll clothing. Makes you wonder how reputable this company really is. Both seem to be "out of P.R. China" from what this site says, but I would still contact Angel of Dream and ask if they know of this clearing house and if it is legit. I'm sure Alice would love to see this too.

    7. I would like to let everybody know that I sent Alice an email, I know that she will respond quickly to it. I asked her if this is an authorized dealer of her merchandise. I will show you guys what she said after I receive an answer. OH< I also asked that If it isn't, that she can say so on this thread. I just hope nobody buys from them anytime soon.

    8. AC doesn't sell orginal designs, hence the name "Alice's collections". She's merely a dealer selling other people's clothes and shoes.

Writing her email won't do you any good finding out the answers.

    9. Yes, normally I wouldn't trust a company that dabbles in everything and buy doll stuff from them. Since it's not a specialized company, it would be harder to get partial refunds or replacement parts if things get broken in transit ('cause they'd have no idea about specific things about dolls.)

    10. I think asking her will do good. She will tell me Because I'm pretty sure that she make most of the clothes that she has on there. The shoes and eyes are a different story and also Stacy's Pink Ocean. Those I think are sent to her because she is a dealer of Dark blue and Stacy's. Her opinion will count.

I could be wrong but she told me that she was hand sewing some of the clothes. So I a just going by what she said to me in the past.

    11. unfortunately, AC is just a authorized dealer who sells clothing for other Taobao stores.
I don't know if she makes designs and clothing herself but most of her selections on the sites are from some taobao shops I frequently visit.

And for this igobazaar site, looks like they may not be a "authorized" dealer or agents for those clothing/dolls. I know there are some people who just use product pictures from seller's taobao shops and sell those goods at a higher price to make profit from it. Looks like this website is doing the same thing.

    12. Is it safe to buy clothing from there? Like as in not a scammer? Because they have a dress I have been looking for. ^^;;;

    13. There are a lot of other dealers sell the same stuff that's on AC's site. AC has been caught doing underhanded dealing before. She sold Dika's jointed hands to CrobiDoll claiming it was her creation, only to be found out by Dika and also got her dealer license taken away.

    14. AC is not an honest business. I do not know why she is not banned on DOA and people keep doing group orders for her store. Since last year I've been saying that a lot of her models look like very early bootleg models of Chiwoo from CP. Of course I cannot prove it even though in my heart I know it and many Chiwoo owners who has seen very early version of bootleg Chiwoos agree with me that the model is indeed fake Chiwoo. I do not believe in such business practice. I do not visit her site after that so I do not even know what it looks like now. It makes me sad to see people giving her store business here. And what she did with Crobi was really a big deal to me. Such an dishonest practice.

    15. Wow I had no Idea... I have only known her to be very nice and quick to respond. I did talk to her and she did say that she is a third party seller of those items. Oh well, maybe they aren't scammers? They just lie about over priced merchandise being marked down but obviously aren't marked down.

Wow, I am so very surprised that I never heard about this. I can really understand how this would upset you and end any business with her. I really only think that people buy from her is the low prices and lots to choose from. Oh well, I have bought from her, I probably will in the future just because I am so very cheap :doh But, are those her dolls modeling or are they the company that makes the clothes pictures? Mint on card shares some of the same pictures with the brand K2 clothing. Also If it isn't to much trouble could you pm me with the link to the thread about the MNF chiwoo issue? (if there is one) Also the Crobidoll one? Thanks!

    16. So several people have stated that AC tried to pass off Dikadoll's sculpt as her own, but you'll probably buy from her again because you're "cheap"? Do you see the inconsistency of this statement in a thread you started about possible bootlegged dolls?

    17. Yes, why not? I never said anything about buying dolls. I only own resinsouls and It looks like that is all I will be owning for a while. I had No idea that she did that, and it didn't affect me, so why should affect my experience with her now if I am not buying dolls from her? If she is banned then yes I will most likely stay away from her.

    18. You certainly have the personal freedom to buy whatever you want from whomever. It's a gray area. There are those who are more cut and dry about not support any business that does shady dealings -- such as passing something off as their own creation when in fact they are not, or using a bootlegged doll as model. That said, it's not our business to tell you where you prefer to make your purchase. I am sure if AC continue her practice that way, she will eventually earn herself a DoA ban.

    19. So I have a question. People say she tried to sell Dikadoll jointed hands as her own to Crobidoll, and Dikadoll found out about it, and yet she still sells Dikadoll hands on her site. Is she doing this..."illegally"?

    20. I think that is between her and Dika. If she is no longer a Dika dealer and still says she is, then that is illegal. But just like any of us we can buy a pair of Dika hands and sell them and say they are Dika. That part is not illegal.

I believe if you run a business you should at least know if the things you are selling are bootlegs, copies or authentics. I'm not saying AC should do the same (I really do not think AC cares to, they just want to make money), but if I am running such business I certainly would want to know if the doll models are bootlegs or not, and if they are I surely would refuse to use such photos. I would never ever want to have any attachment or relation to fakes. That is my personal belief. Not everyone cares to do that I guess.

    21. Gotcha. I hadn't thought that she could just be buying them and then reselling.
